Likes

They treat us well and also they give their best in teaching so that we can understand the topics easily.
Students studying in our institution can opt for scholarships and get the chance to study with minimum or free admission.
Also on the other hand , various entertainment programs and activities were also held so that the students can participate in them as well as enjoy the college life.

Dislikes

The area is very commercial so it can be a bit chaotic at times. Also, there's a lot of traffic jam
I disliked nothing there, those were my golden days in that institute.
Campus food menu is not likeable to everyone

Know Your College

Likes

The teaching is somewhat nice. it needs improvement
The campus life i felt was quite good and it was quite spacious
The college has a great library with a whole lot of books

Dislikes

The placement service is quite effective
The infrastructure need renovation in some parts
The course is quite relevant and is helping me in development

from 6th sem students become eligiblre for campus placements ICICI Bank and it made about 3 offers Highest average was 450000 and average package is 300000 10% of students gets placement i am studying for bank exams

Glimpse of your 3 years as a BBA student.

Likes

The teachers are really determined and curriculum focused. You'll find the teachers really friendly and they have quite a lot of experience with teaching.
The campus is huge, with seperate infrastructure for each program. It has its own Auditorium, seminar hall, ground, parking space, huge library, computer lab, hostel, cafeteria etc.
The area it is located in is really great, since chandmari is a bustling place, you'll find everything there, be it restaurants, pg, medical shop or even music stores.

Dislikes

Though the College is great, BBA a a sole program isn't that great, the course is comprehensive but lacks a core, as in expertise.
Due to the affiliation with GU (such good reputation) your results will be definitely late, and expect numerous bombshells on you, be it exams, curriculum and what not.
The campus placement isn't great, you'll just get some information and you'll be able to apply for the jobs. But expect to not get one, since they onky hire 1 or 2 people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course like i said isn't that great, it will just be like a piece of paper which depicts your credibility of employment, nothing else. You'll have to learn the skills by yourself which will benefit you. Otherwise the whole course is theory, and gives you basic aspects of management. Though the last 2 semesters are really important, since those subjects will be the main ones that you'll ever benefit from in your future.

Nice college

Likes

There were a lot of extra curricular activities so that students can develop their skills

Dislikes

There were so many students that why we didn't get personal attention.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It conducted several carrier counseling and seminars and workshops which helps students to make right choice in future and enhance their knowledge. In my batch we didn't have major in subjects .we were told that there will be major subject in 3rd year but there was not .Later they said that in honours there is no one particular subject to be major and all main subjects are considered major subject.

My 3 years of GCC

Likes

Its infrastucture and way of teaching of the teachers
Freshers and other programs which gave entertainment to all the students
Its canteen food , refereshment items etc

Dislikes

The college did not have an adequate drainage system

Gauhati Commerce College provides a good internship and placement opportunities for the students.During the 5th and 6th semester , a good number of companies approach the college for fresh graduates. Students have to attend internship classes of the companies and give online interviews to get access for the placements and jobs. Some of the companies which have approached the college are - Federal Bank , Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) , Acmegrade Classes , Tata Strive etc .

An overview of the renowned Gauhati Commerce College

I have been a student at Gauhati Commerce College for the past 3 years and have been grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of this college. I learned a lot, not just academically but in real life through my peers and professors.
It has a legacy of its own being one of the pioneer commerce college in the northeast region of India
Great faculty and placements. Makes your B.Com degree really worth

Dislikes

It lacks infrastructure-wise. It's as simple as that. A lot of changes are needed to make things better.
The area is very commercial so it can be a bit chaotic at times. Also, there's a lot of traffic jam
And lastly, flooding. The college gets flooded as soon as there is rain. This is major issue and Gauhati Commerce College is actually infamous for this.

Placement Experience:

Several companies such as Godrej and TCS came to the University to conduct college placements. I even appeared for the TCS manager exam and hope to land that job. Along with this, I also got selected at Godrej as an sales executive

Beyond the Bronchure: Navigating College Life

Likes

The first thing I truly liked is the environment it provided for the students to understand what life truly is and how can we overcome any obstacles.
The second thing I liked is the faculty which helped the students to understand their respective subjects in a great way.
The third thing I liked is the canteen which ensured quality food within a less budget.

Dislikes

The only thing I didn't liked is that some of the rooms did not had the facility of air conditioning which is very necessary during the summer season.

Placement Experience:

From the final semester students become eligible for campus placement. This year (2024) almost 6 companies visited our college for recruitment. The top companies were Godrej, TCS, Federal Bank and many more. The highest package offered is 3.5-4LPA

Gauhati Commerce College (The Best)

Likes

Best well disciplined and maintained college.
Many more good facilities are available.
It’s one of the best college in Guwahati

Dislikes

I disliked nothing there, those were my golden days in that institute.

Placement Experience:

Students can get placements after 4th semester. Many different commercial and government companies visits there. About 50% of students can get placements in different companies. I prefer to take Banking courses.

Living the dream college life

Likes

I very much like the environment of the college and also the teaching stuff
There are many activities to do and college is very active in cultural programs
Every month many semminer held in college which are very usefull and knowledgeable

Dislikes

The play ground is not that perfect to play it could be better
The parking place of bike and cars are not suitable
The canteen food could be better and can provide variety of foods

The course is very exciting learning so e new stuff which you never heard before because commerce subjects are not common subjects no one have studied commerce subjects in 10 but after that we use to learn about commerce. And the course curriculum is very easy to understand and exciting

My Review of GCC

Likes

The Teachers and hods are very friendly with the students. Interaction is very excellent
The canteen and the college campus are very good.

Dislikes

There is no indoor stadium. It's a major requirement for the students
There Is flood problem during monsoon season. Drainage system needs to be improved
The college playground isn't maintained properly

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subjects are quite interesting and good. Exams are held twice in five months. They are held under the vigilance of excellent faculty. The curriculum included in the course prepares students to compete in the real world and build a good personality.

The college vibe, friends, canteen, college week, college election etc

the college authority and college management, some of the classrooms are very dirty and Dusty, partiality during the college election by some teachers etc...
