NIEPMD college insight

The campus environment is very good, neat and calm, the campus is well maintained and regularly cleaned
The main language that's spoken here is english, since people from all over India comes here, the common language to communicate switches to English, which is better for our English vocabulary and for future job references
It's a ragging free campus, there is strict anti ragging helpline, seniors are friendly,

Dislikes

No availability of good food nearby the college, since it's in outskirts of chennai, there is no medical or no or very few hotels around here
There is shortage of staffs here, and mostly boys to girls ratio is like 1:4 in our class,
The canteen food needed to be improved and should provide proteinacious food

Placement Experience:

The college gives internships after the final year, 6 months is the duration of the internship, 3 months inside campus and 3 months they post us outside the college to nearby hospitals or colleges like SRM,Meenakshi, Saveetha, balaji etc....Placements are average, they have to do a lot of work on it, but the coming placements are with a good salary amount

NIEPMD - THE JOURNEY I MADE

In NIEPMD , first of all you are fascinated by the surrounding. It is a institution situated in ECR road and just beside u can see the Bay of bengal sea,beach is there. While you are having a class u can feel the natural breeze and colour of blue sea
Secondly, The cleanliness and management is too good. It is the best of all. Big hall for functions, examinations ,library, ac rooms, mess.
As it is multiple disability institute. So you get every intervention in a same roof.People can avail services like Physiotherapy, Occupation therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Special school for specially abled. So no need to wander her and there.

Dislikes

Here actually student strength is low in batch.
New innovation for teaching can be improved here.
Mess food here needs to be changed and sports activites should be increased

During internship, after final year exams, we are eligible for campus placements > From Bangalore, PRS neuroscience visited for the campus interview > From 24, 6 got selected for the Hr round > From 6 only 3 got into the company > The package was Rs 26000 per month > Plus we get notification for vacancy for govt and private companies in a whatsapp group.

Niepmd - ASIA'S only college for multiple disabilities

Likes

Asia's first college which is working for multiple disabilities
Clinical exposure will be much better than other colleges
Good teaching skills and teachers support

Dislikes

No hostel facilities for students after first year
No bus facilities for students for day scholars and outside first year hostellers
Canteen food is not good as per students need

Course Curriculum Overview:

- i want to become a doctor and this field feels very much interesting to me - yeah there will be so much clients load will have a great exposure for different disabilities and well planned treatments also - detailed review about patients by clinical staff has to be there and teaching with interest - every year annual exam and it's difficult

Likes

60/40 % is the ratio of girls to boys and there are around 25 students per batch. Campus life is good not great but I like the environment of the college. Social interactions are way better than many other colleges.
There is lot of clinical experience and therapeutic knowledge to be gained in both theory and practical aspect.
A large patient and client inflow is observed and this is great to add up for treatment knowledge.

Dislikes

Very less cultural and sports events. It is way too much into academics.
Students are used as labor for various college works which they have received funds for.
The college funds are not properly utilised and the practices like proper documentation for every small thing is rather petty and unnecessary.

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll be a good enough and well able as a physiotherapist if you follow through the course without any problems and get you a good enough placement in any hospitals unless you are planning to open personal clinic. This is one of the best therapeutic related colleges which specialise in persons with multiple disabilities.

LIFE IN NIEPMD

Usually I joined niepmd through referral of my relative and occupational therapist helps person with physical, sensory and cognitive deficits
Amenities that can be availed - well equipped anatomy and physiology labs and well designed digital classrooms, seminar hall , library with various and multi reference books , superb Auditorium for programs and events
Computer lab for students projects , assignment and research, Anti ragging committee always stands with students and supervision on all students behaviour.

Dislikes

Limited teaching faculties because in this shorter period the hiring of professors and assistant professor is still pending.
In campus girls hostel facility with full safety and people coming from different places will suffer in beginning and boys hostel is placed 7km apart and boys have to take care of own transportation from hostel to College, actually this is worst
Limited cultural and sports programs, we are requesting our management to increase the events

Placement Experience:

In niepmd from past 2 batches they are availing campus interview from various states with high annual package even for freshers , campus interview can be done after finishing final year semester before internship or during internship.

The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University has best schedule in terms of compensation of course
Corruption free administration,that improves the quality of education
Best infrastructure ever I have seen in tamilnadu

Dislikes

This university asking several times documents for vaccination purpose it's bit of irritating
This university give the examination schedule just prior to two weeks.
This university takes time to give the result, but next academic session will start without any kind of delay

In my college NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR EMPOWERMENT OF PERSON'S WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES is fully dedicated to the person's with disability, college provides effective treatment for the peoples,for this reason students are getting lots of exposure of practical knowledge and focus on extra curricular activities as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Paper Is On Time and Guarding Are Extremely Tough. If u know something then only u will pass no chance of Cheating And All Like That, U have To Get Atleast 50 marks on each and every paper then u will be promoted to the next session.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to go into the medical field. The faculty are really good and get personal doubt session compare to other colleges you u get. Teacher is highly qualified and teaching methods are only in English only. But due to COVID exams are going late.

Placement Experience:

The course consists of 3 years and 1-year internship. Every student will be able to get job after the course because during the 1 year internship you will be able to expand your knowledge and get exposure. I plan on doing my PG after completing the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I get to know about this course on the internet. 20 students four faculty. 1 HOD 4 FACULTY MEMBERS with MASLP DEGREE. 3 CLINICAL supervisor with bachelor degree BASLP. Teaching quality need to be improved. Semester exam with viva. Not that much difficult to pass.
