National School of Drama (Delhi)offers a Diploma whose admission takes place in two different phases. In the first phase, applicants need to clear an NSD entrance examination, also known as a preliminary exam. If applicants are selected, they have to appear in the second phase which consists of a five-day final examination workshop.
This college has some of the most notable alumni like Sutapa Sikdar, Irrfan Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Ratan Thiyam. The list doesn't end but there many more star from this college with a very huge fan base.
NSD had always been the dream college for me, as I had heard a lot about the college and it's great alumna.The admission process at NSD is rigorous and has 2 rounds, the first consisting of an entrance test and the second being a 5 day on campus workshop. I managed to clear both the rounds and finally got admission into my dream college.
An admission into NSD is no joke, one has to really word hard and give his/her best shot. The first round of admission begins with the aptitude test, which I cleared with good marks and then came the second phase which consists of a five-day final examination workshop within the campus. The workshop really tests your acting skills and recitation.
In order to give emphasis to cultural diversity, students from different states are selected. Additionally, preference is given to applicants from families traditionally belonging to the performing arts.
The screening of applicants is carried out in two stages. The preliminary screening comprises of an audition or practical test, followed by a final round of selection in New Delhi, which is in the form of a four to five-day workshop. In this final selection emphasis will be on the candidate's attitude towards learning and participating in collective creation.
