St Joseph's College, Devagiri: The beginning of success and prosperity.

Likes

I liked the college campus very much. The atmosphere here is very calm and peaceful. And greenary around here is very soothing and help you focus on your studies.
The unity among the students here is amazing. Everytime an event comes up, all of us join our hands to make it the very best.

Dislikes

I don't like the attendance system here. It's very exhausting.
I have to travel about 1 hour from home to school, it can be challenging at times.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

At the time of registration I paid 450 then during admission we had to pay 12500.. then we are asked to pay around 700 for exam fees every semester. We are supposed to pay tuition fees and special fees around 3000 rupees in the second and third year and we have laboratory fees that varies but currently around 500 rupees. The reservation category students have a lot of advantages and they have to pay minimum amount as in if general students have to pay 635 examination fees then reservation students only have to pay 35 rupees.

Devagiri through my perspective

Likes

The faculty members are so educated and trained and are with qualifications like PHD,MCA,M-tech, MSC etc..
The infrastructure of college is so good with a wide space especially the library and college ground.

Dislikes

College does not provide any internships for students.
College does not have a ladies hostel facility for ug girls.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The tuition fee for thir course is 22500 per semester. Compared to other colleges devagiri is little more costly. But it provides all the facilities in regard to that fee collected. There are no hikes in this fee for my batch but for the 23-26 batch it has increased as 26,000 and for the 24-28 batch it has again increased. At the time of admission the student will need to pay the first semester fee along with the fees like certificate course magazines etc... There are many scholarships provided by the college for students namely prathiba, egrant etc... College also provides small job oppurtunities for students with small payment like data entry.

Likes

College facilities and campus is amazing. The programs conducted are amazing.
Very free and less restrictions on dress codes

Dislikes

Faculties that are incompetent and takes boring classes
There isn't much to dislike about devagiri

There are two sections in this college. Government aided programs and Self financing programs. The aided programs only need to pay exam fees and hostel fees. The self financing students pays everything including tuition fees ranging from 13k-23k

Likes

St. josephs college devagiri is a high repluted college in kerala that mainly focuses on the quality of education that a student can gain during the academic period of time.
The college has a very good environment friendly campus . The students can interact and socialize during break times. And also , the faculties here are very friendly to the students and they are highly qualified.

Dislikes

I dont like the over strictness of the college .
There is no consideration given to the students who dont acquire the minimum attendance percentage.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Msc computer science has a tution fee of Rs.160000 for two years and this is totally fine for this much established course. by each semester exam fees needs to be paid . The exam fee will be less than 1000. The campus offers campus placement for the respective students and high packages are also offered for the students. Those students who belong to lower category will has only less fee and they have concessions.

The campus: The college has a picturesque campus with greenery and well maintained gardens
Events: The college hosts cultural and management events (Nirvana)

Dislikes

Strict entry issues: you will not be permitted into the campus without an ID.
Attendance: You need a minimum 75% attendance to appear for exams. Although your attendance will not be marked even if you’re 2 minutes late

The course requires you to pay 23500 per semester. That is 47000 per year. Pretty reasonable I'd say. And students pay fee through the college website and not directly in the office. The college also provides scholarships

Experience of St Joseph’s College Devagiri

Likes

Provide basic necessary facilities that other colleges in calicut doesn’t provide.
Some teachers are well educated and creates a great learning atmosphere in the classroom

Dislikes

The college is in the stage of development and it is not completely developed once completed i think it will be a great college
Sometimes the college does treats the students like school children

For three year bachelor course the total tuition fee will be around 1lakhs to 3lakhs.There are different financial aid and scholarship programs provided in the college for a financial support for the students. There definitely are fee campus placement, but it is limited with a few number of companies and the companies provide with a basic average salary.

The college has a good ambience and there is lot of space in that college there are 3 building for colleges and there are three canteens and the college provides ncc and nss . The canteen foods have good taste and correct amount its a good college .
The faculty expertise teaching method it differs in teachers and subject some teachers teqching method is very understandible some teachers its difficult to understand but they help in studies and gives complete notes and take full sylabus .

Dislikes

The teachers are good in taking class but its really strict they gave all works assignmnt seminar at the last and one teacher first they take class slowly and at the end they finish the whole syllabus in a weeks or days . Most of the teachers have no

The tution fee per semster is 25000 we total have 6 semster . The complete cost of this degree wil be around 1,50,000. I dont stay at hostel and my house is 5 km distance from this college. The college have placements . The college provide scholarships for the students who is good in their academics

Likes

Academically well settled and they good teachers.
There are sufficient placements while comparing with other arts colleges.

Dislikes

Since aided and self financing colleges are both different buildings we can't interact effectively with each other
Some more facilities should be provided improvised buildings etc.

Our fee structure is more affordable while comparing to other colleges and courses. All three years we have to pay about 1.5 lakh . They are many scholarships like egrants and inspire. Our college doesn't provide any campus employments.

Campus life is bustling with social activities and opportunities for interaction. Students regularly organize events, gatherings, and outings to foster a sense of community.
Classrooms are equipped with modern technological provisions, including smart screens, facilitating interactive seminars, presentations, and project collaborations within the self-financing blocks.

Dislikes

Free hours could be provided to students which may help them to relax and study.
Timings of trip could be increased. Two day trip could be provided for first and second years.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Tution fees varies from course to course. Each year there will be a slight increase in fees due to providing of more facilities. As per my course, each semester fee is twenty two thousand fivee hundred and there are six semesters in total. At the time of admission the student need to pay an amount of forty eight thousand which includes first semester fee and charges for certificate courses. The college provides various scholarships based on caste, sports and marks. The college also provides information about part time jobs available so that students could work and earn a small amount.
