College Review-Sri Venkateswara College (DU)

Likes

Events which make the whole college participative and an enjoyable place
Supporting faculty and communities, along with some amazing academic and cultural societies
Growth oriented environment with a peaceful gardens and a library

Dislikes

There should be better maintaince in some areas like Auditorium, Wi-fi, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Belonging from a commerce background and being an aspiring entrpreneur, choosing Bcom from a well reputed college of DU was a great step. More than what the curriculum provides, the practical work which is done in the socities is more beneficial for future. At the same time, subjects like business organisation and management and Digital Marketing provides theory that helps taking better decisions in real world cases. The area of improvement would be providing real world examples more rather than grasping just the theory. When it comes to the exams, along with the semester exams, regular tests are conducted with a moderate level difficulty.

The infrastructure of the college is nice and well maintained according to the students. All the facilities which are required for the students are provided by the College.
The playing area like ground, badminton court, basketball court, cricket area is also maintained well.
The societies in the college are good which give a great amount of exposure to the students. It helps the students for building up their personality.

Dislikes

The Auditorium is under construction from a long period of time which makes it difficult to arrange any good events.
There is no facility of Air conditioners in the classrooms which is a necessity as in summers it becomes very difficult to sit and study in the rooms for such a long period of time.
There are very few number of seats in the hostel due to which all the students are not able to enjoy the hostel facility.

Placement Experience:

The placements are being offered by the college. Students after passing 2nd year are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, Ben, KPMG, WIPRO, EY, etc. visit the college and take up the students. Students also get pre-placement opportunities if they get a good internship and do it excellently. The highest package is 21.5 LPA and the average package is around 5.90 LPA. Every year about 200 students get placed in companies.

The campus and infrastructure is very up to date and well maintained
The new nep policy provides an all round growth and development including extra courses and language subjects.
Teachers and professors are very well provinding carrer and academic support to students. College organizes various competitions and sports activities which are very useful for students. Teachers also get involved with the students in societies work

Dislikes

There is still old benches and library need to be renovayed
The library should be opened throughot day and thw whole week
There should scholarship opportunity for every student

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is widely acceptance throigh out the country and from DU gives it cream layer. The curriculum gives the basic knowledge that ecery corporate world requires for placement. Teachers also share knowledge and experience to go through. The frequency is twice a year and easy for prgram students.

The crowd here is very good. Everyone including the batchmates and seniors are inclusive and intelligent
The campus is also good. Its quite big in comparison to other colleges. The area around college is also better in terms of crowd.
The support provided by student union and clubs is very helpful and commendable. And the extra curriculars and society stuff is also interesting

Dislikes

The system of attendance is quite restricting and rigid. Students pursuing professional courses together may find it hard to manage with college . Students pursuing other c
The outside of college gets filled up with water in rainy season. That needs to be done right
Classes lack air conditioners. In summers the classes get filled up and the atmosphere becomes very suffocated

Placements are quite good here. A rise of nearly 35% was recorded in the total offers made in 2022 placements when compared with 2021 The highest package offered in 2022 increased by almost 11% when compared with 2021. From 2nd semester i guess, students become eligible for placements. 200+ offers were made and companies like accenture, kpmg and deloitte visited. The highest package was of 21.50 lakh and average is 6.58 lakh. My plan after getting the degree is not yet decided.

Venky is somewhere you can have the proper College life

I have definitely liked the college so far especially because of the diverse crowd.There are people from all over India so no one really feels excluded.
I am also very happy about the faculty as it is a very important part of any college and I feel that we have got a great faculty especially for BCom at a very minimal fee.
Thirdly ,the fees is very minimal and so there is more inclusivity in the college. Many can afford to have a nice education through the minimal fees

Dislikes

Firstly ,we don’t have an auditorium .Mamy of the worse colleges of du have an auditorium but we don’t .There is one which has been under construction for too long so infrastructure of the college could be much better.
Secondly the strictness related to politics can be increased as it is too much of a rush during elections as people barge in the college with their political campaigns disturbing the classes.
The classrooms are not built in the best way and there is no ac even in the burning heat of Delhi.The classrooms should be built better with more facilities.

The placements are quite good.You can get an average of 6.5 lpa just by doing BCom which is pretty good and it can go even higher .You can also pursue a professional course like ca or cfa as this college is not very strict and you will be able to manage your time.I have hear that big companies like delloite and Sonari have hired from Venky.

A review from an all rounder of school

Likes

Common area , foyer, rock garden , canteen food, canteen food availability according to south delhi prices are very budget friendly
Maggie point ambience and crowd and the talks gossips with sometimes the teacher as well
Playgrounds it includes every game you think of badminton tennis basketball and what not

Dislikes

Maggie point is over priced a bit in Maggie point of view as it's rate is like Maggie on mountains

From 5 or 7th semester the students become eligible and various big companies like Deloitte and big 4 have visited and give various offers to the students highest package is 21.5 lpa and average package is around 5-7 lakhs pa My plans are not sure I'm looking into videography field by travelling as much as I can.

In sri Venkateswara College, the whole campus environment is just like heaven 😍. In the college in all classes there are projectors and they also in good working condition. The infrastructure of the college is great and advanced.
I usually go to the college regularly and I like the campus life of my college. As there are alot of people to meet and interact with them and getting more experience and knowledge about different- different people and their culture.
In my college , most of people are friendly to talk and ask about some help .

Dislikes

There are problems in my college also like the wifi connectivity in the entire college is very weak. Students doesn't gets proper benefits of wifi in the college .
As I am in 1 st year, I still don't get mh identity card and still I get in this college with the help of fee receipt.
The auditorium is also not in good condition and that's why auditorium is mostly unused .

Placement Experience:

In this college placements are very good in comparison to other lower colleges in university of delhi. As our college give highest package to the students in comparison to all top colleges of DU . In B.Com.Hons course the highest placement was given to students .

The placement cell reported that over 270 students were placed in 2022–23, with an average package of INR 5.90 LPA and a highest package of INR 21.5 LPA. Top recruiters included Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, Wipro, and Barclays India. Students start preparing for them around the third year. Last year we had an internship fair where around 50 companies came and recuruited.

Our college has a soothing environment with parks which are our go to place during breaks
Library of our college is well maintained. There is a proper reading space for students .
Our college canteen food is quite good compared to other colleges

Dislikes

There is a language barrier as most of the teachers are from south and doesn't know Hindi

College placement is good a decent one students from last year are eligible and minimum eligibilty above 50% till last exam and no back logs. Companies came for placement - PWC, Deloitte, Bajaj capital, Aditya Birla, Make my trip, KPMG, KPMG India, deltax, internshala, code vyasa, surveysparrow, Exl service, GT, etc. Highest package 21 Lpa CTC Lowest packege 4 Lpa Around 60% of students get there placements. My plan is to do MBA after degree

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
