The college gym is neat and clean and most importantly free.
The admission process is easy and simple...i got my admission for b.e through my cutoff which is 94.9 in 2021..msc courses have entrance exam and it is pretty easy too.. admission process in cit is not pretty hard
Placement cell provide a lot of opportunities for the students by bringing great companies for recruitment

Dislikes

Food in hostel is not much good. sometimes it's not tasty
The hostel mess food is not very good and the mess workers are overworked and underpaid.
Hostel food.its not worth for pay and it's not good too

Chat shop ,Canteen and the hostel are good .

There is nothing specific like dislike.Sometimes I am not happy with hostel food.

The placements are good and each year nearly 150 companies come for placement and they hire the students from various streams. By the starting of 7 th semester the students are eligible for placements.

Story of CIT

Likes

All staffs are friendly and good but only some of them teach good

Dislikes

Hostel food..changing of hostel rules often
Unnecessary constraints that are not meaningful

Placement Experience:

Placement is good before last year...in that highest package is 32 LPA...From 6 th semester placements are eligible...I plan to go for a job or else maybe a higher studies..I haven't given it much thought though...if u have above 8 cgpa you are good to go

Life at CIT

Likes

Placements are good in Coimbatore Institute of Technology.
I really loved the hostel life i had there.

Dislikes

The mess food will not meet our expectations.

Placement Experience:

From end of the 6th semester students are eligible for placements. The companies visited are De shaw, Amazon, Infosys, Techion, zoho, tcs,aqfer and so on Highest package - 54lpa, average package - 8lpa 98% of students were placed in our department. My plan is to get a good job in a top MNCs.

My experience at CIT

Likes

CIT's campus life was lively and interactive and awesome
My faculty were very supportive and helpful
In my college we have good placement opportunities.

Dislikes

Sometimes, we don't have enough classroom
Some syllabus were irrelevant to the course
Some staff are rude. that's very irritating

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, it was great and relevant of my 12th subject. They gave some real world application. it was more engaging, while entrance were fair but little bit though. and they gave puzzle and activitieies. It was quite good and got some experience and it was a solid start for my course.

CIT - An overall experience

Likes

Hostel life is good. College surrounding is more than good with peaceful environment. Staffs are friendly except some of the staffs. There is no oressure in examination like other departments which is rare.

Dislikes

Tution fees is bit more expensive and I feel like management is not taking care of the needs of the students.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement according to our course the students are elegible from 9th semester. From this semester placement drive will get started and in 10th sem students need to attend 6 moth internship and if their performance is well they will get their placement opportunity in the same company as well.

Not so strict, things are bit liberal and still students don't easily misuse it.
Discipline of students is on one another level
Clean campus is one thing and is also calm

Dislikes

Not much efforts from management side in coaching
Not much celebrations and fun in this college
Lateral entry students still feel unwelcomed in their 2nd year

Placement Experience:

Students literally become eligible for placements when they are in their 4thyear, but everyone is eligible for internship opportunities.. 100s of companies visit every year and have very good placement records. But in 2023 to 2024 due to recession the placement has been comparatively low.. This problem is not just here but in every other colleges too. But still it's decent here. The highest package this year was 52 LPA, 3 of them from our whole college has been placed for this package.

Placement here is in a decent way but don't expect high package for everyone. The computer and core branches get higher opportunities here. Highest package is 52lpa . Above 50 percentage of students is placed

CIT - A PG STUDENT'S POV

Likes

Like minded people serving together in clubs.
A few supporting faculty at all tough and good times
Supporting seniors and super seniors to guide us through placements and internships

Dislikes

After internships, staffs mostly prefer us to self study rather than teaching.
We were asked to pay semester fees even during our internships.
The campus environment and infrastructure can be upgraded. It gives better feel for both students and the faculty

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is getting updated mostly after each batch leaves. Because the passed out students might have faced some situations where the company is in need of a particular subject knowledge and the student might not have it. In that case, they will discuss these with the department staffs and the requirements that have to be met by other students. In those cases, our department is open minded to change the curriculum for our betterment. So, the course curriculum is very useful for the changing technological world.

So many Clubs are here.i joined in clubs and i got lot of friends
Lab facilities, you can work at lab at any time with internet
Friendly teachers, they will clear our doubts at any time

Dislikes

OAT ground needs some renovation work. play grounds shouldbe maintained properly
Time schedule will make us angry,in time to hostel,Gate timings

From 7th semester students are eligible to attend the placement process.7th sem first week itself companies will started to come. DE shaw,oracle,Anora,TCS,Soliton highest package - 55 LPA Lowest package - 3 LPA

Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) is a prestigious university in Tamil Nadu. It has been ranked in the top 20 Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu consistently for five years. Every year, around 150 companies visit the campus and provide 70% of students from the on-campus.
