The location is super convenient - being located in the central Kolkata made it easy to and from college.
The infrastructure is pretty decent with clean and air-conditioned classrooms. The overall campus is also clean and felt very safe.
One of the things that i liked is the discipline. The environment is very strict, structured and safe which is ideal for a good learning experience.

When it comes to academics for the economics department, there is an enormous room for improvement. While some professors were actually helpful, in general we had to study most of the syllabus on our own. The faculty members kept changing frequently
The fees structure for the kind of facilities and placement opportunities wasn't justified. There wasn't any scholarships or financial aid .
Campus life overall was dull. There weren't any fests which felt monotonous after a point.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.
I am a botany student and according to my course the teachers are very understanding, helpful and teach you with their utmost devotion. The library is well equipped with a good quantity of books which you can issue and study so no need to buy books..
There are many societies and clubs to join as per my i joined sports society. They will take your trial before enrolling you in any sports no matter you know how to play that game if you want to learn that sport seniors are very good they will teach
No matter I which department you are in if you are eager to engage in activities there are many opportunities. Whether in sports, seminar or any other kind of co curricular. You just have to be updated with upcomming events .
Dislikes
The thing I dislike the most is the dance society they aree very conservative about who they take in their group whether you are capable or not they will just give attention to them who they like or a term called nepotism.
I was just heartbroken by my canteen expectations. Yes it is small but it is well clean and equipped with AC but the food is hygienic and options are available
Placement Experience:
Talking about the placement opportunities I have no such opinions as per being h Bsc students. But intership opportunities are great as the college lies in the main area where companies like tata steel, emami are situated in walking distance. So if placements miss by chance you still have opportunities. And being honest here placements now a days are solely based on your skills neither mainly on college or sources.
The college has a great infrastructure with a very neat and clean environment.
The professors are very nice and cooperative
The location of the college is quite good. It lies in the centre of the city.
Dislikes
The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University which is well known for its strict marking scheme
Placement Experience:
The college has a separate placement cell but the placements offered to students in our course are not at all related with our course. We were offered sales job in banks, and similar ones. But for the BCom students, college does provide jobs in MNCs. But if i talk about our course, the placements department wa squite a let down.
First of all my college is girls college , but its a very cooperative college
My seniors are very nice , and the king of all ragging is prohibited in college
Teachers are so kind they will tell u a 1000 time same topic without being irritated
Dislikes
I dislike that they do not have space for parents room if ur parents is picking u up.
Some teachers are so cruel that they not even hear your excuses.
Placement Experience:
After 6th semester the students become eligible for campus placements...tcs , wipro , infosys , google many good companies had came and made huge offers...avg package was 30 lpa and highest will go upto 2 cr...90 percents of student get placement every year by their performance...my plans after getting the degree was to pursue masters first.
From the 5th sem onwards students get eligible for campus placements. Companies like tcs, wipro, Deloitte, etc visit for recruitment. The average package is 3.5 lacs per year. Many get placed. I plan on continuing my studies after graduation.
Many top companies like PWC, Deloitte, EY offers placement. Students get average placement within Rs 3-4 lacs and the highest placement is Rs 6 lacs. Almost 60% students get job from this institute. Students in most of the cases join as manager of different recruiting companies.
Sri Venkateswara College comes under Delhi University so it s a government college that's why I chose this. Some of my seniors told me that the education quality of this college is very good and teachers are also supportive.
The college infrastructure is really good.Every classroom has an A.C and is well maintained by the staffs. The college infrastructure includes library, laboratory, gym, swimming pool and a basket ball court.Tge food served in the college canteen is hygenic and pocket friendly.
It provides placements based on our specialization in subjects and academic marks. We need to score well to get the opportunity of placement. Once placed, the salary package is very well promising and good. Top recruiting companies for Shri Shikshayatan College are PWC, Deloitte, etc
