faculty teaching , student experience, student teacher relationship,
infrastructure of the college, fountain and central park
main canteen, fests and culturals happening in college

Dislikes

long walk from entrance which is the main gate to the departmens
nonveg is not much available especially fish prawns and mutton
also they have a special timings for library which is a bit annoying

Admission:

I applies to SSN , vit and srm , though i got confirmations from all i chose SSN as it has a superior academic reputation and better placement opportunities. i dint face any rejections i got qualified but preffered ssn as it affiliated with anna university. The admission process is either through TNEA or entrance exams . eligiblity criteria is a high cutoff and good communication skills.

Likes

The campus is really beautiful and has a good ambience
The seniors are really helpful and cooperative
The clubs are active and keep events from time to time

Dislikes

The teachers are biased and are not nice towards the North Indian students
There is no transperancy in the grading system
The fests are not great just mid way better events at other colleges

Admission:

I choose this college because this college has great reputation among people in Chennai and is one of the highest rated college in the city after IITM, but the college did not meet upto the expectations I had before joining

Study at SSN

Likes

The best part of SSN is the environment it provides. The nature and beautiful atmosphere is very pleasant
The lab facilities are great here with incubation centre and lot of amenities for students
The infrastructure is great and there is good interaction between students which makes it easy for students from other states go well easily and feel comfortable

Dislikes

The campus is very huge and there is restriction imposed on vehicles . To move from one place to other the distance is too large and without vehicles it is difficult.Even the entrance gate is too far from the department and students have to walk far
The quality of furnitures in the classroom is not well maintained. Many departments have this complaint and they have not looked into this.

Admission:

I had also applied for sasthra college in Tanjore got addmission also, but I opted for this because I felt this city would give me a much better exposure and experience than Tanjore. The admission process for government quota does not require any entrance exam basic cut off is only seen. For management quota there is entrance exam and interview to be cleared

Journey in SSN

Likes

I like the infrastructure of my college which is full of green and flowers. Which makes me feel fresh and there is a small fountain which looks more beautiful.
The freedom i got is very important for students to be free and explore many things
Different clubs and workshops are conducted which enhances student to learn more. Every club is assigned with faculty who supports the student's.

Dislikes

They ask students to write letter for every single thing. Even to leave home during festive times , we need to submit letter along with valid reasons
The cctv camera near washroom in girls hostel makes me uncomfortable sometimes.
Mess food is little bad, i couldn't eat after some period. I more often skip going to mess and paid money to them. Every weekend i go home but still i have to pay mess fees.

Admission:

I had applied for many college, and i got a seat in SSN through management quota. This admission process consists of various steps first we need to attend the MCQ test after filling all the form it is mandatory to fill all the details that they ask in prior and after we receive a mail regarding the MCQ test timings and the subjects for this test will be our 12th maths and Science and English along with some attitude to check whether basic are strong. This test is not two difficult like JEE Mains It's Simple concepts of 12 grade which can be cracked easily and once you get qualified you will receive a mail for individual interview. In this interview you communication skills are tested. They will ask some topic and you need to talk about that topic for 2 minutes and other basics questions like tell me about yourself what course, why did you choose this course.

Likes

College has a very good environment surrounded by trees and maintained well
The college has well trained professors super infrastructure
The college gives you a kind of freedom which we should utilise properly

Dislikes

The wifi coverage in the campus is poor,needs to be improved

This college has very good placement records compared to others,so it opted it as second option.My first option is anna university where the fees is very low and quality of education is also good.But I didn't get seat there for CSE and IT.So I opted for SSN through tnea counselling.

I really like the infrastructure here which is really large and the hostel is very neat. Also the faculty here is excellent
The labs and seminar halls here are neat and the college has an impressive track record of placements in top tier companies including MNC’s
The college has a lot of extracurricular activities and also technical events and culturals

I applied to VIT chennai and also CIT. I got seats in both the colleges. But i got admission is SSN through counselling. We get seats here through either counselling or management and different courses have different criteria cutoffs and the management exam was moderate level difficulty. Overall you need to get good marks to get seat here.

SSN College Review: A student's perspective on Academics, Opportunities and Life

Likes

There are almost equal number of girls to boys ratio in SSN
SSN believes on liberty and students are given full freedom. No compulsions on taking classes or attending them as long as the minimum attendance of 75% is maintained.
SSN is very liberal on girls and boys interaction and not strict like other colleges in Chennai.

Dislikes

The college is located in the outskirts of the city and the college bus are not the most comfortable.

Admission:

My college was a more attractive option as it had a good scope for different activities. I had gotten admissions in colleges like VIT, SNU, Amrita, Shastra, etc. These are the major colleges for engineering in south India. But I chose SSN as they had good placements and also promoted extracurricular activities like sports and other cultural activities. In fact, SSN has famous alumni in other fields like Ravichandran Ashwin who is an Indian cricketer, and Ashwin Marimuthu who is a south Indian film director. SSN had a great track record for placements too.

Review about SSN college of engineering

Admission:

So basically I was trying to get into nit Trichy but unfortunately I was not able to , even though I got a seat in Birla institute of technology, Mesra , Ranchi in Mechanical engineering I didn't go for that becoz that is too far from my home home town , then I came to know about SSN where I got admission in BE Computer Science and engineering through management quota, pursuing Cse in SSN has really good scopes , better placement opportunities, also my hometown is like 250 km away , so I thought it would be better .

Likes

The awesome infrastructure of this college helps us to relax during break times.
Most of the staffs working here finished their Phd. So coaching will be good

Dislikes

Most of the things are good in college but the mess food is average.

Admission:

I just applied for TNEA counselling and filled the best colleges under TNEA and i got allotment in this college. I applied to other deemed universities but their fee structure was bit expensive. So i just chose the allotment in this college.
