- Teacher are so good. they behave very well. they support all time
- Yes, they provide scholarship fees, the job opportunities are also good and placements are also good.
- Amazing campus and social life. sports culture is one of the best in this college and also the main thing that is placements are the main attraction point of this college
Dislikes
- The hostels facility is not so good. the bathrooms are not so clean and there are hygiene issues. the food in the mess is not that much healthy.
- The things i disliked about my college is the teachers. sometimes the teachers teaches us in bengali language which is not understand by all the students
- The infrastructure of the class is not prominent. we have to ware college uniforms everyday. the projectors are broken in the class. there are broken benches in the class.

- The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
- The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening

- The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
- The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
- The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here
Placement Experience:
Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

- Campus & Environment: The campus is quite spacious and green, offering a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a fully residential college, which creates a close-knit community.
- . Infrastructure: The academic buildings, labs, and library are decent and improving every year.
- Labs are fairly well-equipped for core engineering branches (like Mechanical, Civil, ECE, and CSE).
Dislikes
- Placement Gaps for Core Branches: For Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Chemical, placements are not as strong
- Hostel & Food Quality: Hostels are livable but maintenance and mess food can be inconsistent.
- Location Limitation: Being in Haldia (a bit away from Kolkata), access to the city’s resources, internships, and industrial exposure can be limited.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall.
It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs.

- Teacher teaches you in language in which you are comfortable and can understand easily
- Campus Life is good we have 38acre lush green campus where you can enjoy with your friends and garden restaurant sankha chill and many more places .Girl to boys ratio in our department is 1:3
- If you are good student then your placement is confirm which give a better roi

- College is very strict about 75% attendance if you have not attend theory class then you can also not attend lab
- Night life in campus is totally prohibited strict security that you can go and come inside campus after 10pm
- College does not organise any technical and non tech fest in recent years
Placement Experience:
Average package is 5lpa lowest package is 1.2lpa highest package is 11lpa(on campus) from chemical engineering 36lpa(off campus)
From the starting of 4th year company started to come
Around 70percnet student get placed
Company like tcs,wipro,infosys, cognizant, Capgemini,haldia petro chemical, ambuja, accenture visit every year
This year infosys give 189 offer to student of 3.6lpa

- No Attendance criteria, it is there but as strict as other colleges around
Dislikes
- The course is quite outdated, and teachers them self are aware of the trending tech and the teaching far away from what the real industry requires. No hackathons (I am talking about regionals), No project based learning.
- They discourage Bright and innovative culture
Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is no doubt pretty outdated.
Consider AI/ML for example you are not thought about any of the AI related topics, yes none .
If you are looking for Ai regarding lecturs I will advice you to watch Harvad ML lecturs they are fantastic.

- The fees of our college is quite low rather than other colleges in our west bengal.
- The labs and professors are very good and all the teachers are PhD holders.
- Exams and other things are flexible and and well maintained also their is no issues for low attendance but we have to maintain 75% attendance
Dislikes
- It's outside of Kolkata and not like big city
- Sometimes few proffesors are hot tempered but most of them are very good .

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

- I really like the college campus area college campus area is very big and they are not several playing ground inside the college campus.
- I really like the hostels the food is very affordable in the hostel also and there is no electricity fee in the hostel.
- There are various type of clubs and societies both technical or non-technical in our college that really helps for personality development.
Dislikes
- I dislike the college location as it is in a little bit off beat area .
- Very less connectivity options. (public or private)
Placement Experience:
The placement scenario at Haldia Institute of technology is quite decent specially for the branch Computer science engineering student usually become eligible for on campus placements from sixth semester. Many well-known companies visit the campus every year like TCS Infosys , cognizant , Accenture ,PWD etc
In last few years around 85 to 90% student students get placed.
The average packages are 4 to 5 lpa, in 2025 the highest package is 75LPA , in 2024 it was 40 LPA in 2023 it was 33LPA. My plan after getting the degree is higher studies in very prestigious IIT or getting a very good placement

- the campus is good. it is friendly fo the students with lots of trees.
- teachers are friendly (some teachers). no attendance pressure.
- the overall expreience is good .. the seniors are helpful (not all seniors)
Dislikes
- some teachers are disgusting ... they only tell us to go to college an dwe will learn all, but in the college there will no chace for getting good industry ready knowledge .
- the course is not industry ready, the course is out of recent era.
- some seniors are disgusting. the do not do their own work and harrus the juniors.
Placement Experience:
- from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements.
- name os the companies visited: Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, KPMG, Delloitte etc...
- cognizant : 5.8LPA, wipro : 4.5LPA, KPMG : 5.8LPA, Delloitte: 8LPA
- 89% of students get placements.

College provied campusing every year. They try to make every student to be placed. The avg package of this college is near about 3.6 to 4.8 LPA. ALso off campusing facilites are there. Even internship opportunities are provided by the college itself.

- some professors even forget that you have submitted the assignment
- ragging is done, is you get good seniors then ok else a little problematics for your 1st year

Haldia Institute of Technology is one of the largest residential engineering institutes in West Bengal. It is spread over an area of 36.98 acres of land and has been ranked at 163 position by NIRF ranking. The college is also accredited with A grade by NAAC
Courses:
The college offers various courses- B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA with a number of specialisations. The college offers B.Tech in CE, CSE, ECE, ME, IT, EE, Biotech and in many other specialisations and M.Tech in ECE, CSE, CE, ME and Biotechnology. The college has also offered new courses for B.Tech in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and cyber security. Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Chemical Engineering are top departments.
Placements:
As per the data of batch 2017-18, 72% students were placed and around 140 companies visited the campus for placements. Some of the top recruiters were Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Nestle, Adani Wilmar etc.
Fest:
The college also organises annual cultural fest “Riviera” and annual Techno Management fest- Prayukti”. A lot of competitions and events are held during the fest and different colleges participate in the same.
