My university does not offer on-campus placements but there are regular career fests happening which do give opportunity to students to meet with the recruiters from different highly esteemed companies.

There are career fairs every 3 months. Many students get offers for job.

I think the your experience in college is what you make of it. If you go in knowing exactly what you want to do with your career and use college as a means of getting there, then you may miss out on campus activities, meeting new people, networking, developing yourself, etc. it’s not a bad route to go because it gives you focus but there may be things that you may wish you would’ve taken the time out to experience while in college.

The placements processes are excelling and the hiring equally. There are several famous company developer clubs for computing science. There are also several networking clubs that act as mediators and a mode of network connection for students and companies thus making placements and internships more accessible, easier and plenty.

It’s a fun, educational experience. Definitely gets stressful around exam season and before the submission of huge assignments but the winding down is just as enjoyable and there is always something going on in the university that helps you wind down.

Dislikes:

  • There's nothing much to dislike about my university. My course doesn't allow to apply for Research assistantship or Teaching Assistantship. Even we don't have Co-op. Apart from that, my university is one of the best. null

For Post graduates, we have to find jobs individually. But our faculties would be more than happy to help us in that. So that won't be an issue excluding recession.

My University experience is good. My first 2 months were worst, later its a piece of cake. I've applied for 6 Universities. Got admitted in all of them. But Ualberta is ranked #4 in Canada. So, i choose this.

Edmonton is not an extremely good place for IT industry... But you can always apply outside the province or apply jobs in the US. However, if you consider the tuition cost, it's relatively affordable, and you get a North American BSc degree! After BSc, students might be able to continue to its MSc program if their GPA is high enough (likely 3.7 / 4.0), and the MSc thesis program is fully funded.

It's a Canadian university with low tuition costs -- only about 25,000 CAD per year! Also, its admission rate is not as low as University of British Columbia and University of Toronto, but it has a strong CS department, particularly in Reinforcement Learning Theory.

I guess the post-study placement opportunities are decent if you make effort outside of the university to do things, make projects, etc in the field you want to pursue in the future.

Because it is ranked among the top 10 universities in the world for Artificial Intelligence.
