  • The university has 4 campuses.
  • North campus: it is located in Edmonton this one is the original campus.
  • Campus Saint- Jean: it is also in Edmonton, this is for the French language education.
  • Augustana Campus: located in Camrose, this is for liberal arts and sciences programs.
  • South Campus: located in Edmonton, primarily for agricultural research. My campus is the north one this the main campus so I have the access for all the facilities like library, sports and medical services. The popular event is week of welcome features live music, club fair and various activities to engage new students. They also organise seasonal activities like pumpkin carving for Halloween and host winter party.

  • I find my accommodation through website. My monthly rent is CAD$ 600 which includes heat and water and the apartment was fully furnished like they provided the gas stove, fridge, oven, dishwasher and a separate laundry space with washing machines. I don’t face any difficulty in finding accommodation.
  • For future I would recommend join as many groups as you can so that you can interact with your future roommates and get to know about them. My apartment has a drive of 10 min from the university. Most of the Indian students stays in an apartment.

Almost everyday there is an event happening and the university shows a good diversity of students of different races, religions, which shows that my university is quite inclusive.

The campus life was good with a great number of food shops near white avenue. The campus has in-house facilities for gymnasium, libraries and sports.

The libraries are one of my favorite places to study on campus, There are zones of various amounts of noise from collaborative zone with lots of sound to quiet spaces with absolute silence. There are loads of clubs that cater to every interest or need from engineering robotic clubs to networking clubs to astrology and astronomy clubs. There is almost always an event happening on campus like free pancakes or free goodies that are always fun to partake and attend.

I lived in residence for my first year and currently live off campus. Both have been very fun and affordable. I chose to share a room for my first year but currently share a 2 bedroom apartment with my room mate.

We have plenty of clubs to join. And wide range of events take place. We have 3 libraries on campus (we can also borrow books from other universities if needed). Infrastructure is very well built to withstand harsh climates. UWS (University Wifi Service) is available across the city. Our sports facility (Van-Villet Complex) has all major activities like swimming, gym, volleyball, basketball, football ground, lacrosse, ice hockey, badminton, etc. We are also provided with Arc Card (transit pass). It can used for both busses and trains.

My room is shared accommodation. We live 6 people in our condo. The rent is 1670$ (270$/head) Groceries are 1200$ (200$/head) Wifi 90$ (15$/head) Electricity depends. We have winter rebates, where our price for each unit is reduced by 40%. Other miscellaneous expenses would 100-200$ In Total, average spend for a person would be 750-1000$

art time minimum wage is also more in Alberta than any other province in Canada. Taxes are also the lowest among all other provinces.Rental apartments are also cheaper in this province.

University of Alberta is ranked 4 all over Canada for their education and student services. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Weather here is also not that bad and people can adjust easily in this location. Part time minimum wage is also more in Alberta than any other province in Canada. Taxes are also the lowest among all other provinces. University provides ample opportunities to network and meet industry professionals to build a good relationship which might help students find a job. Career events are organized on a regular basis which help students on building resume, help in writing research papers, meet and greet people from different backgrounds. All in all it is a great place to study and live for students. Rental apartments are also cheaper in this province. Rest depends on students skills and experience to get a job. University provides all the support in building you professionally.

Yes, free WiFi/heat/water/electricity are included. My rental is about 500CAD per month (again, differs year by year). But laundry is not free, it's 2.00CAD for washing and 1.75 for drying. There are lots of restaurants nearby, so you can easily find your favorite food if you don't want to cook.

It's a Canadian university with low tuition costs -- only about 25,000 CAD per year! Also, its admission rate is not as low as University of British Columbia and University of Toronto, but it has a strong CS department, particularly in Reinforcement Learning Theory.
