Campus Life

  • In St. John's, it’s only one campus which is the main campus of memorial university, there are so many fest celebrated in the university in terms of Indian festivals, last year we celebrated Holi, Diwali, Republic Day, etc.
  • For sports and extracurricular activities we have a football ground, baseball ground. We have a swimming pool building with multiple pools called Aquarina, now they are hosting Canada games this year in the Aquarina so currently it is not useable for students.
  • Then we have a big gym, which has all the facilities and courts for badminton, tennis, racquetball and basketball. Also, we have a library with equipped computers for everyone free of cost even after you graduate like 3-D printers for cheaper price and normal printers as well.

Fees

  • For me every semester it was around $3300, Yearly $10,000. Which included only university fees like semester fees, recreation fees, Graduated Union fees, etc. University on campus living is expensive so I lived outside only always.
  • My monthly expense was $1000 a month. Including rent, groceries, utilities, bus pass, phone bill, everything. For undergraduate student the fees are course based(credit wise) so its expensive for them.

Overview

My experience at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, I knew I had made the right choice. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the breathtaking views of St. John's and the Atlantic Ocean, created the perfect setting for my university journey. One of the highlights of my time at MUN has been the academic quality and the supportive faculty. The professors are not only experts in their fields but also genuinely invested in their students' success. The smaller class sizes allowed for more personalized attention and meaningful interactions with professors, which enriched my learning experience. Beyond academics, the campus life at MUN was vibrant and engaging. There was never a shortage of student organizations and clubs to get involved with. I joined a few clubs related to my interests, which helped me make new friends and find a sense of community within the university. As an international student, I appreciated the diversity at MUN. Interacting with people from various backgrounds and cultures broadened my perspectives and enriched my overall experience. The university's commitment to inclusivity and creating a welcoming environment for all students was evident throughout my time there. The location of MUN in St. John's was also a huge plus. Exploring the city's unique culture, trying out local cuisine, and enjoying outdoor activities in the surrounding natural beauty became an integral part of my life. The city offered a perfect balance between academics and leisure, making my university years unforgettable. The support services at MUN were also commendable. The academic advisors and career counselors were always available to guide and assist students in achieving their goals. Whenever I faced challenges, there was a safety net of resources to help me navigate through them successfully. Additionally, being part of research projects during my upper years was a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into my field of study and gain valuable experience that has benefited me after graduation. As I look back on my time at MUN, I am grateful for the memories, the friends I've made, the knowledge I've gained, and the personal growth I've experienced. Memorial University of Newfoundland has provided me with an exceptional education and a supportive community, setting me on a path for a successful future.

So far it has been excellent. So many opportunities right from working as TA to being vide president in IYA to COOP , there has been wide areas to explore and learn and has definitely expanded my skillset as a software engineer.

Campus Life

Not just the university , every single place here has Wifi. So there is no need to have internet pack in mobile. Most of the professors will be doing research on their specialized areas and if anyone is interested to be apart of that, they can approach the professors anytime and if they have an opening, they will take you in. Basically, all all these are very transparent. TA opportunities are also transparent and if you remain active in looking for opportunities you can easily grab one. I worked as TA and the pay is also very good. Music, dance, regional club, volunteering activities etc. , name anything it is available.
