- Location of the College - St. John's, NL,
- Beautiful Campus with Tunnels connecting all the building so in winter you don't have to walk outside,
- Staff - friendly plus chill.
Dislikes
- Big Campus - had to walk a lot
- Doubled the Fees than previous years, Earlier it was 10k now its 20k
- Foodcourt doesn't have lot of options and whatever they have its expensive.
Campus Life
- In St. John's, it’s only one campus which is the main campus of memorial university, there are so many fest celebrated in the university in terms of Indian festivals, last year we celebrated Holi, Diwali, Republic Day, etc.
- For sports and extracurricular activities we have a football ground, baseball ground. We have a swimming pool building with multiple pools called Aquarina, now they are hosting Canada games this year in the Aquarina so currently it is not useable for students.
- Then we have a big gym, which has all the facilities and courts for badminton, tennis, racquetball and basketball. Also, we have a library with equipped computers for everyone free of cost even after you graduate like 3-D printers for cheaper price and normal printers as well.
Accommodation
- I was living off campus as it was cheaper as compared to the university accommodations. Here most people use Facebook marketplace to find accommodation or furniture basically all other things to buy/sell.
- My monthly rent was $600 including the utilities for the first year. Then I got another good house which was $500 excluding the utilities but the room is nice with my separate washroom so I moved into that house. Nowadays, finding accommodation is really difficult because of the housing crisis happening in Canada.
- The time I came, there were a lot of houses available and anyone could’ve easily got the house within one week, but now the situation is different. The house I am living in and my previous house as well is just five minutes walk to the university. This is the common area where all the students stay, it is the right opposite to the university on Elizabeth Avenue.

Campus Life
The campus is rich with different activities, still expanding. Not crowded and peaceful. Filled with greenery. Events whether cultural or academic happens frequently.
Accommodation
Accommodation is costly even in room sharing, around 475 cad. Food 250 CAD per month, transport 100 CAD per month, communication 50 CAD, books and stationary 200 CAD.

- Work term placements- Commerce program at MUN has a 100% work term placement rate. The placements are spread across provincial government, federal government, Private firm, crown corporation, and NGO offices
- Inclusivity & Diversity- Even though MUN is in a not so immigrant populated province of Canada. The campus includes students from all around the world and they are treated well.
- Same fee structure for all programs- You can choose to switch to any program in the future and having to pay the same fees.
Dislikes
- Weather in this province is one of the worst in Canada. Very Windy
- Fee hikes. It used to be very affordable. Not anymore
- The campus buildings could be better. Needs renovation
Campus Life
There is no fun in campus. Infrastructure is not special. It's quite basic can use renovations. No campus festivals. Boring as boring can be. There is plenty sports facilities.
Accommodation
I opted off-campus accomodations as campus residence was very expensive. The off-campus housing rates are also sky rocketing now. It is hard to find an afforable and liveable place around the university.

- It’s one of the best Universities for my field and it’s also easy on the pockets as compared to others.
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing! Sports, swimming pool, library, auditorium you name it and it’s there.
Accommodation
University provided accommodation has various options with sharing and non sharing rooms but they are bit expensive. Other option is to just get a room on rent outside of the campus.

- My university with its faculty and students from diverse backgrounds and countries is a true microcosm of the international education world and thus the exemplary place for exposure. The faculty of the university is well known and provides leadership and bolsters the advancements in areas of research, planning and finest learning.
- The university has a good reputation in the field of Computer Science with its experienced and renowned faculty and quality infrastructure providing a felicitous learning environment. The Computer Science course at the university has a balanced mixture of content, covering hardware, software, theory and practice.
Campus Life
Amazing. WiFi is very fast, sports facilities are amazing too lots of scope for extracurricular activities on campus.
Accommodation
You can rent on campus residences which are very good and cheap or you can rent even cheaper rooms outside in the city especially near downtown area. Average Rentals is around 700$ (unshared) to 400-500 for shared room.

- The Fee for almost all the courses is nominal compared to most other universities. Lot of funding for research-based programs especially. Also my course has the CO-OP facility which lets me work for about 8 months in an IT company as part of the course, which itself has a lot of advantages.
- Apart from these the university has a lot of opportuities that students can explore and benefit from like entrepreneurial cell, get involved in research, TA opportunities which is easily available and accessible and many others like this.
- The University has 0 tolerence for bullying, sexual harrasement or anything fo that sort. The other awesome thing abiut the university is evry single building or section in the university is connected via tunnel which is extremely useful during winters. And the university has almost all the courses.
Dislikes
- The number of courses that are offered in a semester for students to choose from is limited. Sometimes we might end up choosing a course just because we have to finish the credits. The location of the university is in Newfoundland which has extreme weather sometimes, especially in winter and the wind makes it very hard here.
- Summer is like really less here. And also the province has fewer opportunities for computer science and IT. but these are all with respect to the location of the university.
Campus Life
Not just the university , every single place here has Wifi. So there is no need to have internet pack in mobile. Most of the professors will be doing research on their specialized areas and if anyone is interested to be apart of that, they can approach the professors anytime and if they have an opening, they will take you in. Basically, all all these are very transparent. TA opportunities are also transparent and if you remain active in looking for opportunities you can easily grab one. I worked as TA and the pay is also very good. Music, dance, regional club, volunteering activities etc. , name anything it is available.
Accommodation
On-campus accommodation is costly. S0 90% of people stay outside. Normally a decent single room in a shared unit comes between 500 to 700 including utilities. I lived in a basement girls building for 4 months and I paid 550 CAD including utilities and it is just 5 min walk to the university. My husband then came here in Feb on SOWP and we both are living in a private basement which has two bedrooms I am paying 1100 CAD including utilities and that is also 5 min from the university. It is always better to choose accommodations with utilities included. Also should be aware of scams. Here the only mode of transportation is the Metrobus. The cab is very costly so students mostly don use it unless it's urgent. No other mode of public transportation so better choose to house near the university.

- For doing masters in university the fees are less compared to the university which are on main land. The expertise that this university provides helps develop projects which are extracting oil offshore. Experienced professor make it easy to participate in international conferences and new research work which is being conducted.
Dislikes
- Although being a renowned institute producing multiple branch engineers this university is in remote location. Because of being in remote location it limit the industrial exposure and sometime this hurdles the incoming companies.
Campus Life
The best thing about this campus is interconnectivity of all the buildings. There is a tunnel which connects canteen to class, lab to library, during winter this tunnel becomes very useful. There are many other activities like gym, indoor playground and swimming pool which are free to access for students.
Accommodation
Rental are cheap compared to other mainland province but again payrate is also low. For students I would say either your work or your university should be near to your home. Here easy access to bus is necessary.

- "Fee is affordable. Location is remote and peaceful and the college infrastructure is good! The teachers are supportive and good transfer of knowledge. The onboard process was good and informative and good exposure to real market."
Dislikes
- The release of grades in a timely manner and some unresponsive professors. Had to send multiple emails and visits to get my grades which were finally released after almost two semesters. The wait times were very exhausting
Campus Life
The university has good library and good amount of greenery to relax and also has an amphi.
Accommodation
Had to look for a place to stay for a week which was booked from India and costed 8k. Average rentals are around 500CAD and flights are 80000 Indian rupee.

- Newfoundland is a growing province that is rich in all kinds of Renewable source, especially wind energy. Memorial can support that process.
- Fact that it is in NL is the best. They have all the resources for you to go great lengths. You just have to show interest and approach professor on how to proceed. Great ambience in the Dining hall, good opportunities for people who want to work part time job.
- Faculty are very talented in terms of their subject and knows how to proceed with the problem you are facing. Highly accommodating labs when it comes to working projects. The lab assistants will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care, trust me on that as they have helped me during a period of COVID 19 to help with my projects.
Dislikes
- Nothing much. I was the first batch of my course. They have done a beautiful job in segregating the kind of courses. They could do a little better and assess which subjects are more needed and should come in the must learn category since not all the students will be from a corresponding background to understand the subject.
Campus Life
There are a lots of clubs and at least a handful of them could pique your interest. Extensive WIFI coverage throughout the campus. Navigating between campus can be very easy once you get accustomed to the MUN tunnels, they're the best especially during winters. They have built a new facility that has more research labs for Robotics and Marine life sciences.
Accommodation
MUN accommodation is limited. So I have found place outside and the people are the best of the best.
