DU Categories
In DU PG Cutoff (CSAS PG), C1 and C2 refer to the two categories of seats based on the candidate’s qualifying degree:
Delhi University releases separate PG cutoffs for Category 1 (C1) and Category 2 (C2) candidates under the CSAS(PG) admission process. The university publishes minimum allocation scores separately for each category and reservation group (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, and ST) in every admission round. Generally, C1 cutoffs are higher than C2 cutoffs for the same programme.
- C1: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree from Delhi University (DU).
- (They get some relaxation / higher preference in many departments.)
- C2: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree from any other university (Non-DU graduates).

Your chances may improve in later rounds if there is some movement due to withdrawals or upgrades, but it is advisable to keep realistic backup options.
Ques. Is Lady Shri Ram College for Women's MA Psychology worth such a high cutoff?
Ans. Yes, MA Psychology at Lady Shri Ram College is considered highly valuable due to its strong academic reputation, experienced faculty, and competitive peer environment. Many students believe the high cutoff is justified because of the quality of education, exposure, and opportunities available after completing the programme.
Ques. Should I prefer Kirori Mal College or Ramjas for Political Science?
Ans. Both Kirori Mal College and Ramjas College are strong choices for Political Science with comparable faculty and exposure. In CUET PG 2025, Kirori Mal closed at around 248–252 marks (General), while Ramjas closed slightly lower at 242–247 marks (General). This shows Kirori Mal has a marginal edge in cutoff trends, but the difference is not significant. Final preference should depend on campus culture and personal fit.
Ques. Is 230+ a safe CUET PG score for DU admissions?
Ans. A score above 230 is competitive but not universally “safe.” For example, in CUET PG 2025, top programmes like MA Psychology at the University of Delhi closed around 250–255 marks (General), and MCom at Shri Ram College of Commerce was around 220–225 marks. So while 230+ can secure admission in many courses, top colleges and high-demand programmes may still require higher scores.
Ques. Do DU CUET PG cutoffs drop significantly after Round 1 at DU?
Ans. Cutoffs generally decline gradually, not drastically. In CUET PG 2025, most DU courses saw a drop of about 5–10 marks per round between Round 1 and Round 3. For instance, MA Political Science dropped from around 250 in Round 1 to ~240 by Round 3 (General category). Larger drops were observed only in spot rounds due to vacant seats.
Ques. Which is better for MCom: Hansraj College or Kirori Mal College?
Ans. Both Hansraj College and Kirori Mal College offer well-regarded MCom programmes. In CUET PG 2025, Hansraj closed at around 218–222 marks (General), while Kirori Mal was slightly lower at 212–218 marks. Hansraj may have a marginal edge in cutoff and infrastructure, but both colleges are academically strong, and the difference is minimal.
