hostel facilities and accomodation . the hostel at HPNLU are typically occupied with 2 students in 1st year .every room contains chairs,beds,study table and cupboards . quality and design of the meals:the mess varies the menu periodacially and offers the foods of north indian cuisine.the food is hygienic and reminds of home yet the most of the students think that it is a boring bit .the sunday and festivals have special meals that are served . registartion and affordability :hostel rooms are included in the admistration procedure and the majority of the students have to have a room .the hostel costs are cheper then the private law schools and are entitled on the university annual fee. off campus :the majority of the students remain at the campuses ,and there are those senior students who prepfer staying at the guest houses in adjacent areas such as ghandal or the shimla city.it is,however ,difficult to travel there since it is hilly.

The hostel facility is mediocre as only one hostel in in the campus rest 4 to 5 hostels are outside the campus but not that far way Menu is diverse but the food taste is not that great is is just edible and we beg tham to maintain hygiene

HPNLU- A SERENE EXPERIENCE

there are seperate hostels for boys and girls and the rooms include beds/ bed box, study table, study chair and almirah with good ventilation and attached balcony which is attached with 2 rooms hostels have high speed wifi connectivity and the attendant here and guards here are so fun and friendly there is a central mess but the food here is not good

Dislikes

The hostel facilities are not that good, since only 1 hostel is in campus for 1st year girls and then it shifts to a distance with rented hostels outside campus.

The room has a bed with bed box, an almirah, table and chair it is nice and clean. Meals provided are okay-ish and homey. Menu is fixed and does not have any rotations. Although only 1 hostel is in campus for 1st year girls and LLM girls rested are off campus and has bus by University for transportation. Hostel costs Rs. 33000 annually and mess is Rs. 150 per day to be paid every semester.

HPNLU - All You Need To Know !

The mess food requires constant supervision and the hostels besides the first years are situated at quite distanced places.

We have different hostels for different batches for which fee in included within the fee specified above, speaking for the first years, we were allocated with dual-occupancy in Rishika Maitreiya Hostel which was not less than a beautiful accomodative hostel. A beautiful view with a spacious balcony. The room was well-furnished with a large wardrobe. a study table and a huge shelf, curtains, large windows (therefore entilation and heat is not an issue) and a box bed. A spacious lift is installed for easy arrival at upper floors (1st-6th floor) We had common washrooms consisiting of gyzers and wash basins at each floor with laundry services on sundays. We also have wifi routers on each floor with promising connectivity and speed along with attendants at the reception. Currently, the university owns only one hostel building while the rest remain rented, although the contruction for others are in process. A student is required to shift their hostel buildings almost every year with no room for single occupancy whatsoever.. The mess committee annually or semester-wise changes the menu for the week. The breakfast changes everyday and ranges from poha, upma to idli sambhar along with milk, coffee and chai. The lunch and dinner consists of chapati, dal, sabji and every saturday/sunday, a sweet dish. No chicken dishes are made, however egg curry is made which is usually eaten by none.

HOSTELS ARE NOT INSIDE CAMPUS DUE TO ITS TERRAIN THERE ARE 4 GIRLS AND 5 BOYS HOSTEL LOCARED AT DIFFRENT PLACES FOR DIFFERENT YEARS . LIGHTS WIFI AND OTHER BASIC FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE PLUS GEYSER AMD CONNECTED WASHROOMS ARE ALSO THERE . MEALS ARE PROVIDED 4 TIMES A DAY BUT FOOD TASTE IS NOT ALWAYS THAT GOOD .

HPNLU- WHAT & HOW

Poor mess food. The mess facilities could be improved to a great extent.

Despite the distance these hostels are situated at, the services provided are satisfactory. There's wifi, the rooms are furnished. There's one or two washing machines in each hostel. No need of coolers or anything as fans are more than enough for a place like shimla. Rooms are fully ventilated. There are attendants and guards in each hostel. Regular attendance takes place by the attendant everyday. The breakfast served is really good. The dinner, however is mostly of poor quality but the nearby pantry, dhabas and cafes compensate for it. Snacks are normal too. The food quality can be improved. Registration for the hostel is completed as soon as you pay the academic and the mess fees. The mess fees is necessary to be paid when you're staying on the hostel. If you choose to stay outside the hostel, mess fees is not necessary to pay however hostel fees must be paid whether you live in the hostel or not. Rooms can be opted near the cafes and hostels with reasonable rent.

University does not have it's own hostels.

University has only 1 hostel of it's own and others are just rented buildings. Students have to change hostel every year and hostel quality only degrades every year. Rooms are good as of now. However this area is a leopard prone area and so we are not allowed to go own after 9 pm.

The reality of HPNLU

First year girls hostel is well furnished and on campus. The rest are rented and out of campus. The hostel room of first year girls hostel is dual occupancy and the rest triple occupancy and 4 occupancy. The room has curtains, bedbox, almirah and light with a beautiful outside view. The hostels are affordable and there is no need to register for them seperately as they are mandatory, only mess fee is optional but it is mandatory for residing in the hostel. The cost of flats and PG is not very high, it is around 3k-6k per month. The meal offered is average but there is a shortage of milk and paneer is majorly served. The menu is everyday chapati , rice and daal along with a comlementary sabji in lunch and dinner. The breakfast and snacks are served every day with a different dish. The menu changes annually by the mess committee which consists of students and the DSW. The facilities include common bathrooms with gysers and water purifiers and washbasins.

Yes i have opted for hostel. It is not made of bricks but these are blocks where one can easily die. We follow sharing plan 3 persons in one room. Our teachers are our wardens. And if get caught in doing some mischief. They take revenge by deducting marks and getting us failed is their ultimate revenge
