Admission Process
Step 1: Application Submission

Ques. Do I need a high CLAT score to seek admission at HPNLU?
Ans: Though any score is always better than another in this case, students claim that good—if not perfect - CLAT scores may be enough for admission into some of the courses later in the counseling process or for BBA LL.B itself. The trick here is to be active and respond as soon as the seat options come up for allocation. There is no denying that the reputation and placement of the HPNLU campus make it an attractive option for even students who may be below the top percentile for some courses.
Ques. Are students permitted to change their course after admission at HPNLU Shimla?
Ans: Changes in programmes are generally not allowed except in a few circumstances specially allowed by HPNLU in rare situations. Students are advised to choose between ‘B.A. LL.B’, ‘BBA LL.B’, and ‘LL.M’ carefully in whatever round of counselling they join, as a change in this scenario is practically not possible after admission to any course of their choice. Ques. What are the chances that an individual with a low ranking in the CLAT exam, such as mine, will get accepted into the law
Ans. Yes - it depends on the rank of the student and the course of the counseling. Many such experiences of students on the site have pointed out the possibility of admissions under the spot rounds with ranks even lower than the rounds of Round 1 cuts. For example: Some general category applicants with ranks between the range of 3000s-8000s have reportedly expressed the possibility of getting admissions under the spot rounds, "Especially when it comes to the vacancy rounds if some students do not confirm."
