St. Joseph's University - An honest, personal review

Likes

The overall college experience is great at SJU.
Great opportunities for students to find and thrive in their passions.

Dislikes

Some lab equipments and facilities are quite outdated (in some departments)

Placement Experience:

Campus placements is majorly available for students of the Commerce, Business, Computer science fields. Other courses too have placements, but it's not that great. The University also offers various courses under the placement cell, like soft skill courses, LinkedIn subscriptions etc.

Outreach program which enhances a overall exposure to new things.
The timings in this college are quite convenient
The faculty here is very friendly and assists us in overall build up.

Dislikes

This college focuses mainly on events and not on studies
Claiming attendance is a problem it’s quite difficult
We’re supposed to claim credits, which is not an easy job. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason why I choose BBA was because I was really interested in starting up my own business initially after which I was more interested to learn more about the digital marketing aspect. And the timings for the exam is one hour for 25 miles and 2 1/2 hours for 60 marks

Things I liked about this college would be the campus
Secondly I would say I love the canteen food and food is affordable
Thirdly i would say I love the way our mentor is very sweet and understanding,he understands the emotions of students his name is Samuel sir

I m doing CS currently company secretary, i cleared foundation examination and now I'm preparing for executive examination so yes it bba is again more of theory that would help me learn better and understand the concepts clearly

I liked the campus in my college it’s quiet big and it’s fun out there
The timings are very convenient as we can get done with college and go back homeAs soon as possible
I really like another thing about this college is that there are many associations here so you can join something in which you are interested in

Dislikes

They force us to attend events in auditorium
And if we don’t attend they mark us absent that’s quiet bad
They focus on studies and events both equally studies should be prioritised even more

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the main reasons why I chose BBA is because so that I can gain work experience in some sort of job and gain experience in internship, and after that, I would want to go and start my own small business, where I bake.

The ambience of the campus and the faculty lastly the canteen food
Liked the greenery around the campus the campus looks beautiful
Loved the titan bridge with a clock even though the clock doesn’t work looks really nice

Dislikes

Don’t like the crowd which is very disturbing and chappri
The only complain i have about is the crowd
Should have considered hindu people for admissions as well for 70% marks

I have opted for Ba psychology theatre performance studies. It is a well balance of Theatre acting and Psychology. Its a two way opportunity to do both acting and Psychology at the same time. Can balance studies very well

The campus is very clean and big, perfect for athletics
The college has two canteens. Both which serve amazing food.
The faculty is amazing. Teachers are nice and are supportive.

Dislikes

For me, things were quite hectic but it all depends on the course you choose.
Very less holidays are given, if the semester is going fast.
The college is strict regarding attendance, you can pay but it will be expensive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Communicative English is easy, but the work that comes with it is challenging. Challenging is good if you have the mind for it and if you put in work. However, if not, it is better you go for a more stress-free course.

St Joseph’s university and its life

Likes

The college campus is very good. They have good classrooms and facilities.
The canteen offers a variety of choices that caters to everyone.
The professors are well educated and knowledgeable and has good manners.

Dislikes

Saturdays are working. Which makes it hard for kids from other parts of the world to go home for weekends.
They will notify your parents if you miss any classes.
The canteen doesn’t have sufficient seating.

The course curriculum is very relevant to the course and today's world. Psychology is a great subject and allows us to understand people. This the curriculum prepares you well for the real world Teaching methods could improve by giving more study trips Timing for exams are good It's not too hard but also not very easy You have to study well

Utilise the college life completely for growth

Likes

Facilities they offer like hostels, canteen, placement opportunities
They conduct programs events in every special occasions
Fest conducted there and cultural activities are mesmerising

Dislikes

There is no well trained staff, most of the PG students are teachers for BCOM
There is no growth for students in form of education
No discipline with the teachers and students, the atmosphere has been ruined

I wanted to do something in business as my dreams was to be an entrepreneur I choose this course The curriculum prepares us 30% good but remaining 70% is all about practical skills There has to be well experienced staff and students should start loving the concepts in which the lecturers teach There should by 1.5 to 2 hrs of exam and has to be more effective questions

Amazing gaze

Likes

College campus and infrastructure was great.
Faculties expertise and teaching methods were top notch.
Campus placement is one of the best thing ever happened and was only possible due to the college reputation.

Dislikes

I disliked the less time they provided for assignments.
I also disliked the less time between each semester.
I disliked the break system of the management.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course chosen by me was really useful for me as the subjects included under this country played a major role in my career advancement. Frequency and timing of exams was bit difficult to deal with.

I liked our college campus which is very huge and which is surrounded with greenary
I like our teachers who are very supportive and they are very sweet and friendly
I like the fest conducted in our college which will enhance your skills

Dislikes

Very strict when it comes to attendence we should mandatorily maintain the 75% attendence
I dislike the event organizers in our college who doesn't organise in a proper manner
I dislike arrupe building which has very dark room and not proper ventilation

I choose Bcom regular because I like account and it will be easy to balance bcom with my professional course It will give us alot more exposure so that it prepares us for this real world Suggestion is to use more ppt rather than using board The timing of exam are perfect but the difficulty level should be a bit moderate
