JLU School of Law is Rocking!

Likes

JLU School of Law is one of the best in terms of facilities attached with law.
Our MUN Society hosts 100s of colleges for year for competition.
JLU Got Talent is one of our event which gives every student a chance to try and show his/her skills.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities aren't that good and food is pathetic.

Only the law chambers advocates and Bhopal High Court top lawyers are the ones who provide us Internships as well as jobs. Most students have secured pre placement offer from them and that is how the placements of JLU School of Law are. Good to see that placements in recent past have increased and now law students are offered 40-50k starting salary offers.

Likes

The university offers a lot of clubs and committees for the students as per their interests. Each student is given an opportunity to showcase their talent apart from the academics. The students are encouraged to participate in sports, fests, etc.
The library at JLU is vast and huge! The texts and books it contains are just out of this world. For law students, it's a heaven on earth. We students can go and access the library whenever we want. The books can be issued and are of great help.
The faculty members are really good. They are not just knowledgeable but also approachable. They are always ready to help the students. They encourage us by taking open discussions and presentations which work out for us.

Dislikes

The university has two canteens. The one for the law students, prepares both veg and non-veg food together which I as a pure vegetarian cannot really bear with.
The seniors here are a bit rude. Everybody has their own opinions but they are quite judgemental.
The law building is at the top. We have to walk all over and then climb to the classes. We are not allowed to bring our vehicles to the upper parking even on heavy rainy days.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is great! The course gets completed smoothly yet before hand and then we have a lot of time for revision. The reason why I pursued law was because this field amazed me. I have a keen interest in learning and practicing law.

JLU Law College is class apart!!

Likes

JLU has the best facilities for conducting moots and law events.
Our law school building has its own auditorium and moot court hall.
We have our departmental fest Riwaaz as well.

Dislikes

Footage and placements of law department aren't that great as Media or Engineering.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements at JLU begins early as law is a 5 year course but from fourth year final semester, we are allowed to find placements in our own. Or there are some corporate houses which comes to our campus to recruit and we can apply there as well.

At JLU liberty is the best thing as along with studies we are allowed to participate in sports or moots hosted by other colleges.
Our college too holds moot events every year twice.
Our sports facilities are such that one can ever train for their state level competitions.

Dislikes

Only BA LLB is offered here as BBA LLB too is one of the best courses available today at most other universities.

JLU is best known for law studies as rest all courses emerges post that.
Students are given a lot of assistance for future studies as we are taught to pursue masters or UPSC along with Law.
Even most students of our university have been promoted and helped who wanted to do judiciary.

Dislikes

Mass Media and Journalism students of our university take away all the attention.

Placement Experience:

It's the law firms and mostly the ones from Metro Cities as Khaitan, DSK Legal and many such which are private litigation firms are the ones which gives us placements at will. JLU is also trying hard to get intenrships along the way so that students can also earn PPO too.

our college offers excellent campus and infrastructure. the pyramid shaped library is the heart of jlu and provides a wide range of books on various genres. the lush green campus provides peace and serenity away from the hustle and bustle of thcity.
the university has a number of clubs and societies which stay active throughout the year and provide a number of opportunities to participate in various events and competitions. namely, drama club, music club, community service club, literary club.
being a law student, the university allows you to participate in various moot court competitions and debates and help building real-life skills. additionally, the college helps providing internships in corporate firms as well as district court.

Dislikes

the faculty could have been more engaging. even though the classes are regularly conducted, the professors aren't the best.
the university doesn't guarantee placements, especially for law students as the university is recently established and still has to build a solid reputation.
the exorbitant fee can't be afforded by everyone and the return on investment isn't as expected.

Placement Experience:

as far as the placements are concerned, no student can fully rely on the college as law isn't a placement oriented field in the first place. most students here prepare for judiciary or upsc after graduation and some go for further studies and doing masters in their desired area of interest. however, the college does try it's best to help students land into various internships throughout the year. ultimately, it depends upon how hard working and ambitious the individual is. the college has tie ups with a few prestigious companies like wipro, infosys etc

Faculties are very supportive, and very serious about the studies and there are many competitions to improve the speaking confidence. And more fun programs
Campus is great. Many activities organized festivals are celebrated like navratri garba, ganpati , holi ,Diwali celebration and many more.
Intresting fest like design fest, carnival,AIU.

Dislikes

As nothing serious which I personally didn't liked .
I think classes can be made more organised.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum are organised and designed as to improve the speaking skills and confidence for every students which is the basic skills of a advocate or lawyer. There many clubs like litigium club, moot court club, pro bono club , legal aid club. Moot court competition are held every semester and they organise a special moot court competition for the freshers so that they can get a idea to compete with seniors . There are many debate competition in college or outside college. There are many opportunities for every student it's up to you how much you grasp them and perform because at the end they can only organise you have to participate.

I liked the campus . It's very huge and surroundings and atmosphere is great there.
The staff and seniors are friendly and have helping nature.
The course I opted for in Jlu is it's speciality and it's known that jlu has a good law faculty

Dislikes

Hectic schedule as back to back lectures use to happen
Because of hectic schedule we are not able to take part in other activities.
Very warm atmosphere. We feel so hot in our class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum here is too good and effective. And the reason which influenced me to join this college was that .. this college is one of the top pvt law colleges in M.P. The methods that should be changed was atleast we should have a proper break and activities should be conducted in class to generate interest of people. The time given for exam is 1½ hours and difficulty depends on our preparation.
