MAKAUT M.Tech Information Security: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Candidates must hold a B.Tech or BE degree in a relevant engineering or technology discipline from a recognised university with at least 55 percent aggregate marks. A valid GATE score is required for merit-based shortlisting. Candidates who are NET-qualified or have sponsored research experience may also be considered at the department’s discretion. Final selection is through a research proposal and departmental interview at MAKAUT Haringhata.

GATE-qualified scholars may receive the MHRD scholarship of INR 12,400 per month, which more than covers the annual fee. Hostel accommodation is available separately. Fees are paid semester-wise to the university at Haringhata.

Graduates may also qualify for assistant professor positions in cybersecurity or computer science departments after clearing UGC-NET, or pursue doctoral research in information security at IITs and national institutes.

GATE-qualified candidates admitted to M.Tech Research at MAKAUT are eligible for the MHRD Teaching Assistantship scholarship of INR 12,400 per month, subject to satisfactory academic progress and departmental duties. West Bengal domicile students may also apply for the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship if family income is below INR 2.5 lakhs per year.
