Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Thanks I like in this campus are infrastructure is very very good then the campus life is very very good the quality of social interaction is also good like I am a master student but I entered also PhD scholars interact with the BTech students also e
Yah to faculty members are very good as per as the strength is concerned the strength is also good and the faculty have immense expertise in the different domains of different fields of Physics and the teaching method is also impressive
Infrastructure is very very good the campus providers the basic ameenities like AC is there in the classroom different friends are there in the classroom the projectors and all everything is there in the classroom

Dislikes

There is nothing which I dislike here was everything is very good here you will find everything here you will find good friends good people good surrounding good environment study environment

Placement Experience:

From the next year onwards that is from the third semester we will become eligible for the campus placement and the campus placement is all about the teaching and the technique jobs here for master students. Many Edtech companies visit here offering a good package like 10 to 12 lakh and average packages 4 to 5 lakhs But for b.tech student the highest package is almost 1.5 to 2 crores and this year almost 9 student have placed in apple and almost 9 student have placed in Microsoft also some of the student got intensive from the Apple India with 1.5 lakh stipend per month

Helpful for getting a PhD

Course structure - Helpful for national level exams.
Food- It's more than my expectations with such a cheap price.
Students to faculty ratio- It's almost 1:1.

Dislikes

Labs- these experiments are not well-designed and more focus on theory.
Hostel- single room would be a better option as many institutes have this for masters students.
Campus placement can be made better for non- technical students.

Placement Experience:

The placement for masters students is poor for science. It's not a problem with the institute, but it's a national problem. You can take a try in different IT companies and electronics companies, but I've seen anyone getting selected from MSC. There are some coaching institutes like Akash that recruit master's students. Btech students get a higher opportunity for jobs and the average package varies from 1M- 1.5M per annum, where the maximum salary goes up to 5-8M rupees per annum. almost 70-80 % get placed every year, but it's less than 10% for masters students in science. I planned to go for Ph.D. after the degree. The course is helpful for NET/GATE and almost 70-80% crack these exams every year.

ONLY ONE SHORT SENTENCE ITS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER GOT

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester, MSc students can apply for placement. There are lots of laboratories, pharmacies, and industrial company take students. For BTech students package is high like 48 lakh this year and for MSc students salary package is 6lakh approx. 82 % of students every year got placed. After MSc, I want to go for further studies.

About NIT Durgapur

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good. For our course or for PG students we are eligible to sit in the placements from the 3rd semester. But some of the students also prefer to go for higher studies instead of making placements. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Paytm, TCS, Amazon, Cognizant etc. The highest package for PG students offered last year was 32 lacks.

Remarks:

It's a reputed govt engineering college in the country and comes under institute of national importance. Our college has maintained a record in placing students to well known and reputedcompanies. Students all over India appear for JEE main in a number of 12-15 lacks per year out of which only 33 thousands students got chance to enroll themselves in our institute. Most importantly our faculty members are highly qualified and have doctorate degree even from abroad they have a great experience in teaching students for several years. Students from our college get internship opportunities before job and even projects in top IITs, they learn how to work in actual work field beside academic studies.

This is one of the best institute of India.

Remarks:

Overall positive. Faculties are good. Hostel is fine medical unit with ambulance are available in our campus. Healthy weather. Gym sports festival are the positive points. The officer are also very helpful. Bank and atm facilities is there.

AN INTROSPECT TO NIT DURGAPUR

Remarks:

There are so many positive things that I have already mentioned. But it has a few negatives also. As the institute is old enough, the buildings are also ancient. They badly need a refurbishment. The whole campus is also not so large as compared to others as it situated at the heart of Durgapur.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
