- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

- Professor are knowledgeable and approachable.the curriculum gives a good balance between theory and practical learning

- Some hostels and academic buildings need renovation
- The lab equipment need to be improved for better understanding of the students
- Summer are quiet hot and humid .winter is fine but short
Placement Experience:
National institute of technology Durgapur had a good placement record. Every department has its own record but The average package of computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering is nearly 12 lakhs and remaining departments had a average package of 9 to 10 lakhs as they are recently accomodated in this college

Placement Experience:
The placements of the MECHANICAL ENGINEERING in our college are better than many colleges who are better in NIRF ranking.The average packages if 9 lakhs which is better for a core Mechanical engineer.85 percent of mechanical engineering are placed.

- Very bad behaviour of staff and bengali professor
Placement Experience:
One of Best placement offering engineering college in India , highest on campus up to 80lacs and median is about 15lacs , average is about 13 lacs ,....that's is too good ,...best placement,...26% placement are more than 20 lacs per annum

- Nice fests , good alumini network ,and seniors
- Nice work shops and exposure to different branches

- The mess is not that good , and some times it is worst
- Cost is very high, dosa cost 120 , cycle cost 10k
- I don't like the curriculum of this college
Course Curriculum Overview:
They conduct exams twice a sem i.e 4 times a year 2 mids and 2 sems , and this curriculum doesnot prepare well for r al world application and the circullum and teaching methods are bad not good enough

- class and auditorium maintenance is very good .I don't know about other labs but my ece lab is well maintained and lab associates are very good .any type of paper work easy heard by officer
- roads are well maintained .overall infrastructure is good and ratio between girl to boys is 220 : 940
- overall your placement cell are good and good mentorship quality
Dislikes
- 2nd year hostel mess is not so good and hostel infrastructure is not so good .
- no night snacks available and also 2nd year hostel close after 11:30 pm ,none can go outside.
- college focus less on professional development of students so lack of professional communication skill.

Placement Experience:
after 6th sem students become eligible for campus plalcement .apple ,microsoft,tcs ,adobe,hcl ,qualcom and many other top company and psu are visit .approx 700 offer made. highest package is 64 lakh and average is 12lakh per annum .88% sstudent getting placements. my plan for higher study

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
