Placement Experience:
The placement here at IIT Kanpur is very nice and lucrative. even in this recession period after the covid we are having decent placement stats and almost my entire senior batch is placed here at IIT Kanpur through campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum is good, not too hectic, not too light, Teachers are really really good, they are expert in thier domain. Basically, a student needs to complete 7 courses and Thesis to get graduation. these 7 subjects are electives and they need to be chosen from 3 pools, namely data science, Theory and systems, Atleast one course per pool is required. I completed all 7 courses in 1st yr itself. Exams and work load depends on subject to subject and teacher to teacher , also freq and curriculum also depends on teacher and course. difficulty of exam vary from subject and teacher. Nothing here is too difficult or too easy. everything requirs time. IIT KANPUR is a becon of eduction. it gives time to you to relax, it has many fests like antragani, techkriti, udgosh. All of them are too good, also there are many clubs which you can join for your co curriculars. - The campus is very green and clean. It is very well maintained.
Placement Experience:
Placements of IITK are very good. Even during recession the average package was 15lpa. Highest package was 60lpa and lowest was 12lpa. If someone is not getting placed then professors help in their own domain. After degree, I am planning to work in a product based company after degree.

The placement performance is among the best in the industry, and the college also sets the standard for placement. In terms of placement rules and quality, IIT Kanpur sets the standard. The college has a track record of 100% placement, with the highest placement offer being around 1 CPA and the average wage package being around 20 LPA. The top college recruiters include Axtria, EXL, Goldman Sachs, OLA, and others.
Placement Experience:
The college placement record is very good. the return on investment is worth it. The college has a record of 100% placement. Most of the student also receives pre-placement offers during their internship programs. The highest package during our batch went up to 65 LPA and the average package was around 35 LPA. I also received an offer of 40 LPA from Google. Companies like Google and Microsoft offer attractive packages to the student and try to attract the best talent they can. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Ford, Mercedes Benz, etc visit our campus during the placement drive.
Remarks:
No. College provides all the necessary facilities needed for students. All facilities are very good. Infrastructure is little old which can be improved. Food and sports facilities are very good. Environment around campus is very pleasing.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
