At postgraduate level, IIT Varanasi offers M.Tech and M.Pharm programs to the candidates. M.Tech course is provided under 30 different specializations and the M.Pharm program is offered with 4 different specializations. The duration of the full-time M.Tech and M.Pharm courses is two years.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech and M.Pharm program must hold a degree in the related discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 6 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree. For the SC/ST candidates, minimum 55% marks or CGPA/CPI of 5.5 in 10-point scale (without rounding off) in the qualifying degree is required.

Admissions to the M. Tech program are made through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted jointly by Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institutes of Technology followed. For M.Pharm program, candidates need to go through GPAT (Graduate Aptitude Pharmacy Test) and Counselling.

In comparison to other top-ranked engineering colleges of India, the college fee is very reasonable and affordable the complete course fee is around 90k and the average salary package I around 20 lakh which is a really very good return on investments. Meri base scholarship schemes are available and scholarships for SC/STis also available. SC/ST hostel fee is also waived.
