The admission process was based on the Common University entrance test (CUET) . After the declaration of the Cuet marks , need to apply for the central universities . The universities display their merit list indivisually.

A Hidden Story of Central University of Tamilnadu

I liked the most is diversity of the students, because this is a central university so here are students from all the states and that makes it good
Campus life is ok ok not so good, and also here the faculty is from different states so they have lot of experiences

Dislikes

Things i don't like is the little bit college environment and our college is in rural area so availability of things are problems.
There are less train and travelling options to go there and to reach there so this is a one of the problem so that we do not have more connection with city.
The main problem is food because there is rural area so there is no more option for us to eat.

Admission:

I applied for the other colleges like Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University and many other colleges and that colleges are quite old and they have some reputation and name of their academic background and their curriculum. I didn't get admission their because of my low marks as i am from general category and for general category the cutoff is very high and so that i had given the CUET exam that is common University Entrance Exam and that therough i got my college Central University of Tamilnadu. I didn't get any rejection from any other college i choosen this college. In my college admission process happens through the common university entrance exam that is known as CUET and by this exam you can get admission and eligibilty for the exam is you have to pass 12th with minimum percentage so that you can give exam CUET and after doing counselling processs you will get admission in this college.

Mess food quality is poor and very bad and.
In cutn you might miss the experience of diversity because most of the students are might be malayalees. It was like when I was studying. So for a malayalee he won't get the experience of diversified culture

Admission:

I applied every central university in India after the CUCET exam. I got admission at every where includes, Kerala , Punjab, Jharkhand, but I choose CUTN mainly because of the syllabus there in which was suitable to my career objectives, and other thing is distance and fee structure.

Professors are very easy to approach. Quite ambience.
It is village area. So no any disturbance as in a town area.
Good air condition. So self healing atmosphere....

Dislikes

It is difficult to reach the university ....
Train availability to there is tooo tough....
It is a village of less advancement ..........

Admission:

Admission process to tye college is very easy..but it requires good score in the CUET exam. Next why I opt the university is better facilities in my department attracted meore over other facilities also the fee structure is also affordable

CUTN - A mixed bowl of everything

Likes

Campus environment was literally good calm atmosphere which helps you to settle down your mind
Mix of people, as it's a central university there is a great bunch of students from various part of nation
Library it was such a great place with lot of books to read

Dislikes

Transportation - college is too far away from the town and less transport availability
Mess food - it's not that worth and you will not be happy with it
Climate is too hard summers are extreme and muddy roads during rainy season

Admission:

I choose cutn because of its affordability, the course fee as well hostel fee is too low and manageble for a middle class Indian family. Also it's diversity is a plus. Along with all these as it's south it was more convenient for me. Admission process is through cuet ug exam

Madras School of Economics - A Comprehensive Review for Bachelor's

The gender ratio is fairly close to 1:1 and it provides a proper environment for all to collaborate and interact.
Most of the faculty members are reachable.
Students usually get free by 4PM and have the remainder of the day to explore their own things.

Dislikes

More academics oriented - no room for placements on campus as such.
Unable to choose electives - have to do whatever course is available.
Infrastructurally very basic - lacks a lot of facilities.

Admission:

I did not apply to any other college. No - I only applied here. The admission process includes an entrance test called MSEET. The eligibility criteria is that you need to have Maths in your 10+2 and must have above 65% in your 10+2 scores aggregate.

Faculty are highly qualified almost all of them had studied from foreign countries and even two professors were full bright scholarships studied in countries such as Germany and USA
They focus on individual students and properly communicate with students
Professors take regular classes even students sometimes misses there class but they didn't.

Dislikes

Proximity to city is the major problem i faced as it was far from major city
There were limited transport service from main city
Only prefer English language they may be considered as a barrier for non english students

I got admission through CUET and i got admission in almost all universities except DU and JNU and BHU and i got admission inither central universities , but i choose this one because ranking of this university were high while also i show faculty and i was impressed with that, so these are the main reason for getting admission

The rigour of the course is very intense. The syllabus which is followed here is intense and rigorous. Its unique compared to the syllabus offered in other colleges of India.
Staff lore is very good in MSE. Most of the staffs encourage doubts and are also willing to have conversations with you. Faculties are knowledgeable and they know there stuff very well. They take much interests if you reach out to them through mail.
They provide a lot of guest lectures which gives us a lot of exposure and we get to know how economics works in the real life policy making sectors.

Dislikes

Theres no opportunities for sports and extra curricular activities. They don’t conduct any events rather it is done by putting our own money and by the efforts of the students only.
The campus is very small, and there are no proper areas for sports etc and also the canteen is very bad. It is super minimal.
If you want social life then this college is not the place, only the studious one survive here. Well you can still make friends here but then the college ‘itself’ does not provide any social life

Admission:

I wrote CUET but i did not apply to DU because of many reasons out of which delay was a reason. But then i compared the syllabus of DU and MSE and the rigor of MSEs syllabus cannot be matched with any other colleges i applied. I got admitted in few of the local colleges which i kept as a backup, but the staff lore and the syllabus is not as good as MSE. I did not apply to a lot of other colleges. The admission process to MSE is simple. You need to register for MSEET and if you clear the cut off you will be called. 12th marks are not considered at all (you need to pass tho) but they require you to have applied/standard math/ statistics in class 12th. They do not require any other examinations as such. It is pretty easy to clear the examinations.

Likes

Conduts different kind of study programs departmental base and overall base which helps as to grow our career, there is also a 24 hours health center which is very helpful
Promots all kind of culturs by oranganising cultural festivals of different states, that makes feel comfortable for the students coming from diffrent states
The campus life is very good, less restrictions makes us feel more comfortable and free

Dislikes

All shops inside campus will close at 9 or 9.30 after that we can't get anything inside the campus

I got admission from two other central universities such as central university of utharaghand and central university of kerala, i didn't choosed central university of kerala because i it was my native state and i really wanted to move somwhere else, i didn't opted central university of utharaghand because their courses are in hindhi medium, i know Hindi but that can't support our career growth right , for that English is necessary

The life at CUTN

Speaking about the faculties in Microbiology department of Central University of Tamil Nadu, they're really helpful and cooperative. They help you in academics as well as help you to get into internship opportunities
Hostel has been a big positive attraction. They are well built. The infrastructure is attractive and you can feel home
Campuss life is a positive factor. If you're surrounded by good people, you can enjoy the campuss to it's fullest

Dislikes

Mess food can be of poor quality at times. People used to fall sick occassionally
The university is situated in the remote backgrounds of Thiruvarur. So for emergency situations, you need to travel a bit for getting things
Bus facilities to town is a problem. There is a single bus that takes you from University to Thiruvarur and they run only 4 times a day

Admission:

The admission was through CUET(PG) examination. I got admitted under OBC reservation and i scored 183 in CUET life science examination in the year 2023. I got alloted in the 5th allotment. The exams were actually good and you can crack it with some effort and preperation
