UNIRAJ Admission 2025: Dates, Merit List, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Ans. A single semester at the University of Rajasthan comprises of 90 working days. An academic year for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses of UNIRAJ is divided into two semesters. Moreover, a summer term is eight weeks during summer vacation. Students of UNIRAJ are advised to carry on any internship/apprenticeship/work-based vocational education training during the summer term, especially those students who wish to exit after two semesters or four semesters of study.

Ans. Yes, students are allowed to take a break from studies at the University of Rajasthan. However, such students must note that the total duration for completing the programme must not exceed 7 years. In such a case, the students will not be permitted to continue the course. Students who exit with a UG certificate/UG diploma will be permitted to re-enter within three years and complete the degree programme.

Ans. The fee for foreign students at the University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) is USD 1500 p.a. for undergraduate courses, USD 2500 p.a. for postgraduate courses, and USD 3800 p.a. for PhD programmes. Additionally, USD 200 must be submitted by the international student as a one-time processing fee in the DSW office at the time of admission. Except for the above-mentioned fee, no additional fee will be charged from the student, except hostel fees.

Ans. Yes, all the female students taking admission to UNIRAJ will be exempted from paying the tuition fee. No tuition fee will be charged from female students studying in the university departments and constituent colleges. The University of Rajasthan also extends this provision to all types of courses, including technical education, but excludes self-financing courses run by the university.

Ans. All admissions will be held provisional till the applicant completes the required formalities at UNIRAJ. Alongside, no students will be treated as admitted to a course until they deposit the necessary fees, such as the tuition fee, admission fee, and others. It must also be noted by students that the fee will be charged for 12 months irrespective of the date of admission, and the fee once paid will not be refunded except for caution money.

Ans. A student migrating from other universities to the University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) will have to obtain an 'Eligibility Certificate ' from the university. Application for this certificate must be accompanied by INR 80, and the necessary qualifying certificate shall be made to the registrar through the head of the concerned department. Such a migrating student will not be admitted to any year of the course except for the first year.

Ans. Yes, a candidate with supplementary can get admission to PG programmes at the UNIRAJ, but he/she has to fulfil certain conditions:

• The applicant who is declared eligible for supplementary examination must appear in URATPG
• The applicant will be provisionally admitted, i.e., he/she will be assumed to have secured minimum marks in the subject of the supplementary exam
• A candidate who fails/remains absent at the supplementary exam will not be permitted to continue in the admitted PG course, and his/her admission will be automatically cancelled.

Ans. The minimum credit requirement for a three-year undergraduate degree at UNIRAJ is as follows:

• Major (Core) - 72
• Minor (Stream) - 36
• Multidisciplinary - 12
• Ability Enhancement Courses - 08
• Skill Enhancement Courses - 10
• Value Added Courses Common for all UG - 08
• Summer Internship - 04

So in total, the minimum credit for the UG programme of the University of Rajasthan is 150 points.

Ans. Yes, it is permissible for students to change their stream at UNIRAJ. However, there will be a deduction of marks in case of a change in some streams. 5% marks will be deducted in case students are seeking admission from science to arts/commerce, arts to commerce, and commerce to fine arts. This will be done while preparing the merit list in order to benefit the students of the same stream.

Ans. All the non-Rajasthan applicants must secure 60% in order to be eligible for admission at UNIRAJ. However certain category of candidates are exempted from this condition:

• Female applicants migrating to Rajasthan on account of their marriage to a resident of Rajasthan
• Male applicants, who after passing the qualifying exam from any other university, have passed a three-year course from UNIRAJ
• Children of a serving employee of the central government or a public sector organisation posted in Rajasthan.

Ans. The entrance exam fee at the University of Rajasthan is divided based on the category and the number of subjects chosen by the aspirant. Following is the fee structure for URATPG:

Ans. The following candidates will not be eligible for admission at UNIRAJ:

• Candidates who failed.
• Candidates who were detained from appearing at an examination due to a shortage of attendance
• Candidates who did not appear for the examination, even after filling out the examination form
• Candidates who were notified as unauthorised occupants of any accommodation in the university hostel
• Any candidates against whom an FIR has been lodged by the university/convicted of a criminal offence/found guilty of any misbehaviour with any teacher or official of the university

Ans. A certain category of students is exempted from the tuition fee at the University of Rajasthan, provided they meet the conditions. Students who are exempted from the tuition fee at UNIRAJ are:

• Female candidates (except for SFS courses)
• Students whose parents/guardians are non-income taxpayers and belong to SC/ST/Backward Classes/wards of ex-army men, in the case of the Department of European languages.
• A student who is a ward of ex-defence personnel who was either permanently disabled or killed.
• A student who is orthopaedically handicapped.
• Visually impaired candidates.
• Wards of martyrs.

Ans. All the candidates who want to apply for postgraduate courses at UNIRAJ are required to appear for URATPG, which is an entrance examination for postgraduate courses conducted by the university. Candidates must follow the steps mentioned below to apply for URATPG:

• Visit the university's website, @uratpg.uniraj.edu.in, for further details regarding the application and admission form
• Click on 'Apply now'
• Select the number of subjects for the entrance exam (max 3 subject)
• Pay the entrance exam fee
• Fill the online application form
• Download it for future reference

Ans. Around 15% of supernumerary seats in courses are available at UNIRAJ. These 15% seats are reserved for international students, including persons of Indian origin. Out of the 15% supernumerary seats, 5% would be preferably filled by NRIs. Foreign students are also exempted from appearing in University Entrance Exams like URATPG, MPAT, etc.

Ans. The UNIRAJ PhD admission fee is not refundable. However, UNIRAJ does offer scholarships to needy students. Therefore, even though the application fee or registration fee is non-refundable, applicants can apply for scholarships and get adequate scholarships for their course fees.
