UNIRAJ Admission 2025: Dates, Merit List, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Ans. The admission fee at UNIRAJ is a one-time fee paid only during admission to any programme at UNIRAJ. This fee is quite reasonable compared to other universities and amounts only to INR 150. Apart from admission fee, the course fee will also include other fees such as tuition fee, laboratory fee, general caution money, library fee, development fee etc which differs from course to course.

Ans. The fee for foreign students at University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) is USD 1500 p.a. for undergraduate courses, USD 2500 p.a. for postgraduate courses, and USD 3800 p.a. for PhD programmes. Additionally, USD 200 must be submitted by the international student as a one-time processing fee in the DSW office at the time of admission. Except for the above-mentioned fee, no additional fee will be charged from the student except hostel fees. 

Ans. Yes, all the female students taking admission to UNIRAJ will be exempted from paying tuition fee. No tuition fee will be charged from female students studying in the university departments and constituent colleges. The University of Rajasthan also extends this provision to all types of courses including technical education, but excludes self-financing courses run by the university. 

Ans. The following candidates will not be eligible for admissions at UNIRAJ:

• Candidates who failed
• Candidates who were detained from appearing at an examination due to shortage of attendance
• Candidates who did not appear for the examination even after filling the examination form
• Candidates who were notified as unauthorised occupants of any accommodation in the university hostel
• Any candidates against whom FIR has been lodged by the university/convicted of criminal offence/found guilty in any misbehaviour with any teacher or official of the university

Ans. Certain category of students are exempted from tuition fee at University of Rajasthan, provided they meet the conditions. Students who are exempted from tuition fee at UNIRAJ are:

• Female candidates (except for SFS courses)
• Students whose parents/guardians are non-income tax payers and belong to SC/ST/Backward Classes/wards of ex-army men in case of department of European languages
• A student who is a ward of ex-defence personnel who was either permanently disable or killed 
• A student who is orthopaedically handicapped
• Visually impaired candidates
• Wards of martyrs 

Ans. A single semester at the University of Rajasthan comprises of 90 working days. An academic year for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses of UNIRAJ is divided into two semesters. Moreover, a summer term is of eight weeks during summer vacation. Students of UNIRAJ are advised to carry on any internship/apprenticeship/work-based vocational education training during the summer term, especially those students who wish to exit after two semesters or four semesters of study.

Ans. Yes, students are allowed to take a break from studies at the University of Rajasthan. However, such students must note that the total duration for completing the programme must not exceed 7 years. In such a case, the students will not be permitted to continue the course. For students who exit with a UG certificate/UG diploma, will be permitted to re-enter within three years and complete the degree programme.

Ans. All admissions will be held provisional till the applicant completes the required formalities at UNIRAJ. Alongside, no students will be treated as admitted to a course until they deposit the necessary fee such as tuition fee, admission fee, and others. It must also be noted by students that the fee will be charged for 12 months irrespective of the date of admission and the fee once paid will not be refunded except for caution money. 

Ans. A student migrating from other universities to the University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) will have to obtain an 'Eligibility Certificate ' from the university. Application for this certificate must be accompanied by INR 80 and the necessary qualifying certificate shall be made to the registrar through the head of the concerned department. Such a migrating student will not be admitted to any year of the course except for the first year. 

Ans. Yes, a candidate with supplementary can get admission to PG programmes at the University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ), but he/she has to fulfil certain conditions:

• The applicant who is declared eligible for supplementary examination must appear in URATPG 
• The applicant will be provisionally admitted i.e. he/she will be assumed to have secured minimum marks in the subject of supplementary exam
• Candidate who fails/remains absent at the supplementary exam will not be permitted to continue in the admitted PG course and his/her admission will be automatically cancelled. 

Ans. The minimum credit requirement for a three-year undergraduate degree at UNIRAJ is as follows:

• Major (Core) - 72
• Minor (Stream) - 36
• Multidisciplinary - 12
• Ability Enhancement Courses - 08
• Skill Enhancement Courses - 10
• Value Added Courses Common for all UG - 08
• Summer Internship - 04

So in total, the minimum credit for UG programme of University of Rajasthan is 150 points.

Ans. Yes, it is permissible for students to change their stream at UNIRAJ. However, there will be deduction of marks in case of change in some streams. 5% marks will be deducted in case students are seeking admission from science to arts/commerce, arts to commerce and commerce to fine arts. This will be done while preparing the merit-list in order to benefit the students of the same stream.

Ans. All the non-rajasthan applicants must secure 60% in order to be eligible for admissions at UNIRAJ. However certain category of candidates are exempted from this condition:

• Female applicants migrating to Rajasthan on account of their marriage to a resident of Rajasthan 
• Male applicants, who after passing the qualifying exam from any other university, have passed a three-year course from UNIRAJ
• Children of a serving employee of the central government or a public sector organisation posted in Rajasthan. 

Ans. The entrance exam fee at University of Rajasthan is divided based on the category and number of subjects chosen by the aspirant. Following is the fee structure for URATPG:

Ans. All the candidates who want to apply for postgraduate courses at UNIRAJ are required to appear for URATPG, which is an entrance examination for postgraduate courses conducted by the university. Candidates must follow the steps mentioned below to apply for URATPG:

• Click on 'Apply now' 
• Select the number of subjects for entrance exam (max 3 subject)
• Pay the entrance exam fee
• Fill the online application form

Ans. Around 15% of supernumerary seats in courses are available at UNIRAJ. These 15% seats are reserved for international students including persons of Indian origin. Out of the 15% supernumerary seats, 5% would be preferably filled by NRIs. Foreign students are also exempted from appearing in University Entrance Exams like URATPG, MPAT, etc. 

Ans. UNIRAJ does not conduct any entrance exam for undergraduate programmes. It is because the undergraduate programme admissions at UNIRAJ is based on merit only. Only the undergraduate courses such as bachelor of performing arts require an entrance or aptitude test, conducted by the university itself. Moreover, the UG programmes in humanities languages, science settings ology, and more does not require any entrance exams. The applicant’s scores must lie above the eligibility criteria of 50% in class 12th from a recognised board to secure a seat in the university.

Ans. Desirous applicants can apply for UNIRAJ online. Applicants have to fill in the form from the official website. Then, proceed further to selection of course. Then, attach the required documents, such as marksheets of class 10th and 12th with the application form, in order to register for UG merit lists. Upon selection, names of the shortlisted candidates will be published online on the official website of UNIRAJ. Therefore, candidates must check the official website regularly. 

Ans. UNIRAJ has more than 12 specialisations under the BA program. The Bachelor of Arts is a 3 to 4 years long undergraduate programme. It has specialisations such as Economics, English Literature, Geography, Hindi Literature, History, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration and more. Applicants can also find foreign languages under the Bachelor Of Arts program. 

Ans. UNIRAJ B.Sc program is absolutely worth it because of its excellent faculty members and placement opportunities. An applicant can expect numerous specialisations under the Bachelor Of Science program. It includes subjects such as Botany, Chemistry, Home, Science, Mathematics, Zoology, Physics and more. The admissions are based on merit of the applicant only. Therefore, applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria of at least 50% marks in class 12th. 

Ans. Blind students can apply for undergraduate programmes at UNIRAJ under the reserved category of persons with disabilities. For such a category, the applicant must provide proof of disability at the time of admission and document verification. Moreover, students with disabilities can also benefit from reservation relaxation as per the norms of the university. 

Ans. UNIRAJ offers a dual degree B.Sc- M.Sc in the specialisation Converging Technologies. It is an integrated degree of bachelors and masters for students with good URATPG scores. UNIRAJ offers 2 such 5 year integrated courses in total. It includes the dual degree B.Tech-M.Tech in Converging Technologies and B.A.LL.B. Hons. The admission criteria in B.A. LL.B. is RULET - Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test. 

Ans. Maths is not compulsory for M.Sc. Physics at UNIRAJ. However, it is mandatory for the applicant to have Physics in their last studied degree. Moreover, the degree will be beneficial for the student with Maths in the long run. As far as the admissions are concerned, aspirants can apply without Maths as a subject for admissions. 

Ans. UNIRAJ considers JEE main scores for the B.Tech + M.Tech dual degree program. For the integrated Science degree, UNIRAJ also accepts scores from SAT, JEE (Advanced), NEET, AIIMS, BITSAT, RPMT etc. Whereas admissions to most of the PG courses are done through University of Rajasthan Admission Test for Post Graduate (URATPG). 

Ans. UNIRAJ offers numerous courses under the fine arts faculty. Some of the popular fine arts courses are Dramatics, Drawing and Painting, Master of Performing Arts - Vocal and Instrumental. Moreover, UNIRAJ also offers a PG diploma in dramatics and a certificate course in painting. The admissions into the Faculty of Fine Arts are based on the URATPG exam. 

Ans. UNIRAJ has an excellent Business Administration faculty for MBA course. The eligibility criteria for the MBA program at UNIRAJ is at least 50% in a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Moreover, the selection is based on the PIM MAT entrance exam. Once the applicants appear for the entrance exam, merit lists for the shortlisted candidates are published on the official website of the University of Rajasthan. 

Ans. No, there are not any interview sessions in the selection process for UNIRAJ PhD programs. However, applicants must score good marks in UNIRAJ-MPAT and must pass the documents verification, in order to have a secured seat. Moreover, candidates from the teachers category are exempted from the university PhD admission test. 

Ans. UGC NET is not a mandatory exam for UNIRAJ PhD programs. It is because the university has its own UNIRAJ-MPAT entrance exam for PhD courses. It is, however, mandatory for the applicants to appear for the university entrance test. The teacher student candidates are exempted from the test and have a reservation with less fee. 

Ans. The UNIRAJ PhD admission fee is not refundable. However, UNIRAJ does offer scholarships to the needy students. Therefore, even though the application fee or registration fee is non-refundable., applicants can apply for scholarships and get adequate scholarships for their course fee. 

Ans. The UNIRAJ offers PhD programs in more than 40 subjects . The PhD program usually ranges from 3 years. It is a full-time doctoral program which must be completed on campus under the supervision of the assigned faculty member. Applicants can get their PhD degrees from UNIRAJ under specialisations in commerce, humanities, foreign languages and more. 

Ans. UNIRAJ offers doctoral programmes in 9 faculties and 43 different subjects. An aspirant can pursue PhD in English, Urdu and Persian philosophy, Hindi business Administration, Psychology Statistics, Zoology, Anthropology,and more. UNIRAJ also offers subjects like history in Indian culture, public administration, information and communication, technology, romantics, law, physics under the PhD degree.
