In first year everyone study common subjects like maths chemistry etc. In my opinion if a person choose electrical engineering then why he should study subjects related to other field i don't think this system will get change

Honestly speaking I did not choose this field of engineering. Rather my JEE Advanced Rank forced me to choose this field. However, civil engineering is indeed a very good branch to pursue in B-tech as it has a lot of future scopes both in the government and private sector.

Iam a Civil Engineering Student. In my first year,we had common subjects for all the branches and from second year, we get core related subjects .I like the subjects related to Civil Engineering course which includes transportation engineering , structural engineering and environmental engineering .That's the reason I chose civil engineering as my future. We have labs for each sem through which we can get practical knowledge related to the subject. Teachers have to take care of all the students whether they are understanding properly or not ,they have to put doubt sessions for clearing doubts and repeating some important topics . We have mid semister exams and end semister exams for each semister with a gap of 2 months. Exams are totally from the classes taught by the faculty. After 1st semister ,we get one month holidays and after second semister we get two months holidays.

Civil Engineering was a vast subject where we can find lot of oppretunities, this motivated me in choosing this as my course. In my course of civil at IIT Bhubaneswar, they not only teach us subjects that are related to civil engineering but they also share basic knowledge in material sciences, electrical, electronics, coding etc. So as an IITian I have basic knowledge on different domains. Apart from these we were taught of economics, human psychology, moral ethics, sports, culturals etc, where it helped us in personality development. In our curriculum they prepare us for real life situations and applications. Our curriculum also include Induatrial training defence after 3rd year where students had to work in real time projects. Apart from these faculty always pushes us to take projects which help us in future. The only drawback from our curriculum is that faculty show interest only in students who show interest towards subjects. And other drawback is the marking criteria is relative.

Our curriculum is nearly the same as that of other IITs. We were taught the same course in 1st year irrespective of branches. From the second year onwards we were made to start our core subjects. The faculty-to-student ratio is very decent and we will have a mid-semester and end-semester examination in a semister that generally has a nearly two-month gap.

All the mentioned institutions offer good academic opportunities for students. But in my opinion, Electrical from IIT Bhubaneswar is a better choice than IIT Guwahati Civil, IIT Patna Electrical and Electronics and IIT Kanpur Material Science.
As a student of IIT Bhubaneswar, civil engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar is better than IIT Guwhati's design. I can share some insights about the institution.

The Civil Department of IIT Bhubaneswar has limited core opportunities and plenty of opportunities from software companies. Top companies are Manikaran power infrastructures and TATA projects limited. Students of this branch also receive internships based on GPA, past projects and last internships.
I am opting for the core branches at IIT Bhubaneswar rather than engineering design at IIT Madras.
ISM Dhandab and IIT Bhubaneswar are reputed academic institutions and are a choice for civil engineering.
Yes, IIT Bhubaneswar is worth it to pursue civil engineering. Although it is a new name among IITs, it’s doing quite well. According to NIRF Ranking 2019 IIT Bhubaneswar was ranked at 26 among the engineering colleges all over India. It’s a popular belief that there is not much placement opportunity available for civil engineering students in India. And most of the students from this starts to prepare for non-core placements from the very beginning of their courses. But this is not the case for IIT Bhubaneswar. Past placement records suggest that 70% of the civil engineering students got core placements. Placement record for 2019 in IIT Bhubaneswar shows a total of 89% students from civil engineering got placement offers. During placement, the average salary package offered to civil engineering students is 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered even went up to 39 LPA over the years.
Students of this IIT have opportunities to do their internships in R & D organizations and in many foreign Universities. For summer internship program, students of IIT Bhubaneswar visited organizations such as ABB Ltd, Amazon, Microsoft, Aditya Birla Group, Airbus Group, India HINDALCO Industry, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Bharat Dynamics Ltd, NTPC, PNB, Metlife, Wipro, BSNL, Jaipur Metro, BHEL, Vizag Steel Plant (RINL), DRDO, Mahindra & Mahindra, Jindal Stainless Steel.
So, yes, civil engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar is worth it as it will provide you with good placement and internship opportunities.
The civil (B.Tech) branch of IIT Bhubaneswar began in 2008. The civil branch is part of the School of Infrastructure. In 2011, the Institute of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 was passed. According to this act, IIT Bhubaneswar is part of the eight New IITs established across India.
The B.Tech Civil Engineering course was one of the first courses that were offered. Today IIT Bhubaneswar ranks at 17 by NIRF, showcasing the well-qualified professors and facilities it offers. There are forty-eight gender-neutral seats and ten women-only seats in the department. The branch also provides learning in management, humanities, communication skills, arts, general studies. The students thus go through rigorous intellectual and personality development.
Both IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT IIT Hyderabad are well-recognized as excellent academic institutions for engineering, technology, and management. The choice between IIT Bhubaneswar CSE and IIT Hyderabad Civil depends are various factors like your academic choices, career objectives, and personal preferences.
All of the institutions are well-recognized academic institutions in India. However, I think choosing IIT Bhubaneswar is better than going with chemical engineering at IIT BHU or CSE at NIT Rourkela.
