Likes

I like our teacher they're kind and very good at teaching
Fests are , masquerade night,dj night hled 1 time in 3to 4 month,and other festivals like varsity weeks,for playing games such like ,cricket,football, volleyball,and other games,liker kabbaddi , campus experience are very good
The teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable and very enthusiastic.

Dislikes

Hostel seats are limited therefore you cannot guarantee to get a seat in the first year.
The admission process was quite easy but the payment was problem.
Our website is not that strong so i have to pay multiple time for it to work

College was very clean ,and there was garden
Teachers were very nice,and helping nature
There was annual program,that was very good

Dislikes

Some of students used to smoke in college
Some of students pluck flowers with a reason
Some time some teachers misbehave in classroom

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course was I really like and feel comfortable with it The curriculum prepared me a lot for the real world it reall help me a lot. I'll suggest the area to improvement in the course curriculum is village The frequency of time for exam was 10am to 12pm

A brief dive in NEHU.

Likes

NEHU campus is very huge and very natural so it’s a very good place if you really wanna focus in your studies since it’s very quiet also.
The university holds varsity month and it’s the best time of the year.
The professors are very friendly and they’ll help you Upto whatever they can.

Dislikes

The marking system in Nehu is very strict so it’s kinda hard to score high marks.
Even though the campus is huge and pretty, it’s not well maintained.
The university library isn’t open 24x7 so many people complain about it.

Department of Economics has been one of the best departments in Nehu for years and it has maintain its name and yes it's very hard to get in economics dept as there are thousand of students applying for it.

NEHU:A central university with heavenly natural beauty

Likes

I like the environment of the university campus, it's so natural so beautiful....if u want to enjoy nature and study then come to NEHU.....
The professors are friendly and communicative
Dj nights, prom nights and many more you can enjoy here

Dislikes

Lack of maintenance as campus is too big
Classes are currently unavailable as protest is going on in the university due to injustice of vice chancellor
Nothing more to dislike about this university as i have already mentioned two dislikes and that's it.

I wanted to pursue my masters in central university only that's why I choose to study in this university as it is nearby my hometown and also it's affordable for me.I'm pursuing masters in economics so for me this curriculum prepares me for real world applications or further academic pursuits,as economics is the subject which can be studied for arts, commerce and science background also.We can do MA/BA,B.COM/M.COM or BSC/MSC as it is a all rounder subject.

The environment is good for studying it's cool and refreshing
People are good since they only mind their own business
Professor are pretty much experienced and they teach well

The course is pretty much relevant specially when it comes to Education. NPE 2020 is in effect and every student is to allowed to take one interdisciplinary course from other departments. Teaching methods is mostly Lecture method however some professor prefer feedback and discussion method.

The teaching faculty and their easily approachable nature
The facilities is also a good one as the college recently received "A" grade from NAAC

Dislikes

The toilets is one thing which needs improvement

Some of the courses are pretty much relevent and comprehensive as there are few course which deals directly with the northeastern region. The length of the semester can sometimes be too short of the required 6 months per semester.

In the heart of hill, mind ignite NEHU.

Likes

Weather, it's very good, the university is so up high we can literally touch the cloud also it's pretty cold temperatures stay under 20 during summer and in winter 0.
Nature, NEHU is fully covered with trees and we also have a natural water fall inside our campus.
Education, Teacher is are good and most of them are understanding. And also most of the students are polite and all of them are good academically.

Dislikes

Food, hostel food it's eatable not great and serve rice 2 time only, i hear girl hostel food are better but the fee is same at 2000.
Maintenance, is poor and the most of the build need repairing.
Ranking is going down its was 15 in 2016 now it's in between 100 to 150 people are saying corruption is increasing here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose Sociology because it's intrested me. Fairy well, well also had fild work and the curriculum seem pretty solid. (I haven't applied for any job so I'm not reliable) Every teacher teach differently some use books some PPT other goes free style. Frist semester was too long and second semester was too short 3 month, I hope other semester are keeped at 6 month. We can decide the date and time of our internal exam which is nice and also 3 internal test per sem and they pick the best 2.

A comprehensive journey at NEHU

Likes

The environment is very clean, soothing and peaceful which makes it the best place for studies.
There’s a big lake with lots of fish, and even ducks. when there’s any leisure time anyone can go and feed the stray dogs or the fishes in the lake and even the ducks
The security guards are always ready to help you. The roads inside the campus are very clean and safe for everyone who drives

Dislikes

Poor infrastructure, especially the toilets
Some Non teaching staffs are very rude towards students

The course curriculum is designed well but not excellent enough compared to other central universities. However, on a scale, it's definitely a little above average. If I could, I would rate a 3.5 stars out of 5. The curriculum also provides the students with job opportunities in the real world from apprenticeships to real jobs. However, the teaching method is quite conventional

Nehu Life

Likes

I like the atmosphere of the university. The people in there are very friendly. The professor's from our (English) department are very nice.
Our campus also have lots of pets! We have dogs and cats who always comes to our classroom.
I also like my classmates. Our class is filled with different tribes of people. We have Khasis, Jaintias, Garos, Assamese, Muslim, Bengali

Dislikes

The thing that i dislike is the dirtiness of the restroom. People don't seem to maintain cleanliness.
And i also dont like our student council's dean. He doesn't care about the students. He's a bit of a narcissistic.
I also dislike the hypocrisy of that one librarian who would scold us for talking while he talks very loudly with hei friends himself.

It's overall good. I like the subject and enjoys knowing more about the subject and history of it. Our teachers are very good in explaining things to us. They teach us things that we didn't know before and make sure that we know it very accurately.

Review of North-Eastern Hill University as an LIS student

The campus environment is really good. Green,Away from the city, Quiet

Dislikes

Quite far from the city so if you stay outside, for days when you miss the University bus, it is quite a distance to travel

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very relevant to the current trends. Various practical experiences as part of the syllabus really hepls.. Internships are also a part and this also really helps. But still there are some outdated course so removing those and implementing much updated courses will be really helpful. Exams are fine.. The difficulty level depends on the course.

A view on NEAU Meghalaya

Likes

People, environment, cool air, greeny campus
The basketball court, church and auditorium
Library with free wifi, canteen food, girls hostel

Dislikes

Decentralization, for most of the office works it takes long time
Boarding school like rules, Dayscholars are not allowed to get inside in most of the events
Mizos are the big trouble, they don't know the meaning of apology
