I choose Sociology because it's intrested me. Fairy well, well also had fild work and the curriculum seem pretty solid. (I haven't applied for any job so I'm not reliable) Every teacher teach differently some use books some PPT other goes free style. Frist semester was too long and second semester was too short 3 month, I hope other semester are keeped at 6 month. We can decide the date and time of our internal exam which is nice and also 3 internal test per sem and they pick the best 2.

We got lot of festival it's like im ever month we have festival. Varsity is our yearly sport festivals, we got fresher and farewell at departmental level and general level. And we do celebrate all the religions festival and many other even too. Something the club also organised some events and compitition. NEHU's library is big but old and they also provide us the access to paid online journal and research articles. Most of the class have projector, heater, fan, black board etc also we have computer lab. If you want to sport then you will have good time here basketball, vollyball, tenis, table tenis, carrom board, football etc are here. NEHU has a lot many clubs but this clubs are not so active and university do provide funds if any clubs want to do anything.

Hostel are run by students at the lower level. We 2 in-charge one for food and other for all the other thing including official work and helping students regarding any problem. Most of the rooms are 3 seater and few room are 2 seater And We can pick our own room which ever we like. Food menu is not great it's eatable and they only serve rice 2 two time, For girl it's 3 time but the hostel food fee is 2000 for everyone. We have to apply online they will check out background and give us room, they prioritise based on our CUET mark. Hostel and admission fee is 7000 And hostel fee per year is 4000 Near NEHU PG is only Available for girl and boy can find PG in the main City (Shillong) and finding rent room is hard here in the city.

I applied in Sikkim university, South Bihar Central University, Assam University and Tripura University. I got selected in all of them. I selected NEHU as it was the nearest from my home and it has the highest ranking among all the other universities. Its was simple they pick based on CUET mark and then some department take mini interview (almost all of the students pass in the interview) And the cutoff is fairly high for sociology its was 170+ for GEN on 2024

Student to faculty ratio is ok 6 teacher, 50 student per class. (We only have MA and PhD) 2 at office and some cleaning, security shopkeep and 1 computer man for xerox, form filling, applying schlorship etc inside our department building. Everyone is likeable and helpful. Exam are not moderately hard but the marking system is bad and its impossible to get full mark in discripative answer and in exam we only have discripative questions.

The interview was simple. the interviewer was our teacher in the interview they were asking basic questions mostly personal questions and some basic Sociological questions while verifying our documents. I applied online and they accounce the selection list after few week and then we had given interview. (After that they released a second selection list after few days) I didn't prepare just went there and pass most of the students pass in the interview.
