Likes

Hostel campus is good with proper faciities
Placements are also good as compared to other colleges
Night canteens are also there and cafeterias

Dislikes

Hostel campus is not fully utilised to make good infrastructure
Loaction of college is not that much good
Hostels washrooms are not fully cleaned and hygenic

Placement Experience:

The placements of college are very good with good placements rate 100 percent and with many companies like Atlassian with 83lpa and off caampus placements also and for core branches also there are good offers

NIT Jamshedpur review ..

Likes

The academic building is so good with proper ac an benches
Hostel facilities are also good annd mess food is also very nice
Placements here are good for my branch and internship opportunities are also there

Dislikes

The fests here are not so big as compared to iits
College location is in the industrial area

Placement Experience:

The placements scenario of college is quite good like avg package of ece is 22lpa and in previous year it was 15.6 lpa with 100% placements ratio . And other than placements you can opt for mtech by giving gate exam or in psus by gate exam itself

Nit jamshedpur pros and cons

Likes

The lecture hall the ambience the teachers
The social life the events conducted the infrastucture
The anti ragging rule the discipline and the seniors

Dislikes

The hostels and the open campus rest everything are good

Mesmerizing Experience in NITJ

Likes

I liked the living standard and experience college provided.
Everything you can get easily, as the market is just next to the main gate.
Coding culture is also a very good point, student consider themself fine than other college.

Dislikes

Open campus is a point I didn't like as it could be a vulnerable point of security for he girls.
Water issue is a very big concern to be improved in our college, hope the time by I am writing it may have been sorted.
Student council has no big influence and role in raising student voice and standing for students rights.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is not much updated, same 8085 microprocessor and controller is being taught, and not much updated to the recent technology , also in my batch web technology was taught in 7th sem which should be taught in 2nd or 3 rd I guess, so that the thing which company looks for , a student can easily get that thing into his/her practise, but they will keep teaching same old curriculum, mostly student prepare themself apart from college courses for company visit and placement.

Life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I liked the grand lecture hall of my college, it has centralized air conditioner classrooms and the main building looks really beautiful
I liked the behaviour of my professors they are very qualified and always try to help except some of them
I liked the study environment ,and the enthusiasm of students for learning, creating and innovating is excellent .

Dislikes

I did not liked the hostel food that much , it was great for the first two to three weeks but after that the taste of food is going down
I did not liked the hostel residence also, it has a very small room for two members where we get only one study table for two students. The doors are quit broken also
There is a huge issue of network. I am unable to attend calls from my room so I always have to go outside in the balcony and roof of hostel to talk with my parents

Placement Experience:

After about 6th semester the students are eligible for placements in my college and the average package is really good of my college it is about 12 lakhs for all branches. The highest package of computer science was 83 lakhs per annum, and in 2023 the average packing job CSE was 27 lakh per annum but in 2024 due to recession it went down to 20 lacs per annum. Apart from that many companies like Google Amazon Tata TCS Infosys Wipro cognizant and many IT sector companies visit in our company. Apart from that the core branches also have good placement records. About 95% students get placed in civil engineering department and 100% student gets placed in metallurgy department 96% student gets placed in production engineering department and 94% student gets placed in electronics department and about 97% student gets in computer science department also there is a new department called ECM. Main students also qualify gate exam from my college.

Is college placement is very good then other college placement of my department EC 100% placement
There is a very good classes and management
There is a new academicbuilding there will be full furnace with fully AC and fully Wi-Fi campus

Dislikes

Them match food is not good and other hostel old hostel are not good
In the campus is open campus then other people are allow in college
Old hostels are not good leakage of water and other things

Placement Experience:

College placement are good in my campus and ec and cs department placement is 97% and many companies are coming campus give offer in campus placement and placement are give very high paying job Many companies are come just like atlasiya Google Microsoft and Amazon Flipkart are companies give of campus placement in manage student

Likes

Mess is good for non vegetarian in a week the chicken is available 4 times this is a good things
And for vegetarians it's also good because for the place of chicken he served paneer

Dislikes

The main problem in the nit jamshedpur campus is wifi which is not smooth..
Actually for electronics department professor is not so good

Actually after you qualify for your jee exams after this you think who is the better collage and after this for this college which is better branch for your interest but after jee not so much intrest about branches feels like every branch is same for me Than u choose your brach to see the packages . This is actually wrong Plzz atleast one time know your about branch faculties

Everything about NIT Jamshedpur

Likes

The college is still in a developing stage but the main academic building it's hostels are great. The faculties here are not that experienced but overall everything is good.
Campus life is very chill here. No tension of Attendance no tension of Assignments nothing.
The placement stats here is the best. It's 4th best NIT in terms of placements. The average of CSE is 27lpa. The placement is just superb that's one of the reason for me to choose this college.

Dislikes

The administration is not good. Anything takes a lot of time to complete. As it's a govt college so everyone seeks their own benefits.
The college imposes a lot of fine for very minor indisciplinary activities.
The faculties are not that superb. They don't teach you anything different or anything new just whatever it is in the text books.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester beginning only top companies start visiting the campus. All top IT companies visit the college. CSE branch has an average of 27 lpa with around 95% placements. The core branch also has very good placements. The MME branch and PIE branch has the best placements compared to every NITs. I am preparing for UPSC ESE. On an average around 97% students gets placed. Lowest package is 6.5 lpa and the highest is 82.5 lpa by Atlassian offered to 5 students of CSE, ECE and EE.

We have smart class.our boys to girls ratios 1:5
Our faculties are under 2 percent scientist in the world
We have training and placement session held

Dislikes

The mess food is not too good at all to eat
Our lab equipments are also very old and damaged
Some professor are not using smart class

My college placement is very high don't need to think about off campus. The company visiting our campus are as follows Google Amazon Microsoft Rubrik sprinkler Goldman Sachs .they offer very high packeges

We have smart classrooms. Our boys to girls ratio is around 1 is to 5
Our faculties are under top 2 percent scientists in the world published by Cambridge
We have training and placement sessions held which help us for interview

Dislikes

The mess food is not quite to the liking
Some professor do not use smart classes and boards during lecture
Our labs equipment are quite old and sometimes doesn't work

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible after 5th semester for placements The companies which visited are- Google - for sde role and made offers to 6 students Amazon- for sde and da role and made offers to 15 students 90 percent are placed with an average of 1500000 per annum

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.

The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
