IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

dear readers as you know,I'm from mining background so ISM is well-known as mining institute and it's a great opportunity to study here for any miner. So I also gone with this though and started new journey of life.

1. Placement opportunity in ONGC, OIL India, GAIL, Cairn, Schlumberger etc. Every year ONGC recruits from 2. Better Course curriculum3. Better career options in OIL and gas Industry as well as in future research work.

7th and 10th semester onwards students can sit for placements. All big brands and leading companies are coming to campus every year to hire students, from Microsoft to Wipro, from Morgan Stanley to Axela, PSU, from Deutsche bank to IDBI bank all companies come to college every year. The highest package 90 lakhs by Bloomberg London in data analytics. The average package is 16.07 lakhs as per the website for the year 2021. I'll go for research post my degree.

(1) STUDYING ENVIRONMENT IS VERY GOOD, (2) GOOD PROFESSORS ARE THERE , (3) THIS IS THE RESEARCH ORIENTED COLLEGE WHERE STUDENTS ARE MOTIVATED TO DO RESEARCH (4) GOOD LIBRARY (5) THIS IS ONE OF GOOD IITs

I choose this course because I was interested to explore the domain of Earthquake science and Engg. This course is suitable for anyone who want to pursue his career in research. It gives them opppurtunity to work on fields related to sesimic hazard , computational seismology, geotech earthquake engg. applied geophysics etc.

The college provide good resources for research and placement. The academics is good and surely provide a platform to leverage one'potential. The admission is purely based on GATE exam merit, the score of GATE is valid for 3 years , so for current year admissions last 2yrs score is valid too.I contacted seniors at IIT(ISM) to get an idea about the the department.

I chose this college because it's the oldest IIT with a good Petroleum Engineering departement, or so I had heard. Coming here, I observed a completely different story. Politics in Department and Career development cell. No representation for M.Tech. This is a disgrace in the name of an IIT as it sends most of it's masters students towards unemployment. They systematically don't allow M.Tech students to sit in companies visiting the campus. I am a gold medalist with an OGPA of 9.96. Even I wasn't allowed to sit in for any core organization and all 21 of my batch are left jobless after the course got over. No one listens or helps. Typical government job, they do the bare minimum. Since B.Tech placements are to be sent for rankings, they just get them placed. I have been told by the CDC Director that since B.Tech students join from JEE and it's the toughest exam and what not and M.Tech students are not good enough, we don't get them placed. My HOD told my entire class that oil and gas organizations are not for you, either look into your network for any jobs or go for higher studies or a phd. We won't get you jobs. Utter bad experience. Never join this disgrace in the name of an institution.

College administration is very sensitive and take decision fast.

For the higher study, I did m.tech, because wants to go in the research field in computer science and engineering, cloud computing, my Moto is to do research and learn about the something new concept of the algorithm, coding, web pages, already I am doing coding works in how to secure cloud computing from the environment and hacking.

Best college and environment is good but their must be and student union as like other IITs such that student can learn things about politics also and also their will be better cordination between them also
