Uncovering M.Tech VLSI at IIT(ISM)

The college provide good resources for research and placement.The academics is good and surely provide a platform to leverage one'potential.The admission is purely based on GATE exam merit, the score of GATE is valid for 3 years , so for current year admissions last 2yrs score is valid too.I contacted seniors at IIT(ISM) to get an idea about the the department.

curriculum is advanced and included many inportant aspects of the domain of study.The faculty student ratio is about 1:4 .Each sem hai 5 set of exams for each subjects, and they happens in an interval of 20 days (3 weeks).The exams are easy to pass is one keeps up with ths class as only last 20 days teachings come in each and in last there is final exam.Note: all exams have relative marking, so one just need to perform better than others to get a perfect score.

Texas instruments, Stm and few other came for internship.Highest stipend was offered by Texas of 45k p.m.All the roles was for digital design intern and analog design intern.The projects was internal and not disclosed by the companies.

First of all, placements are goodMany companies visit for placements.The drive starts from december first week.For placements only Final year candidates can sit.For internships pre final year are allowed and that may have provisions for ppo.For M.tech some major companies that came are :Goldmann Sachs(internships) 1lakh p.mTexas (intern and placement) 22.4 p.a and 45k p.mQualcomm (placement) 32 lakh p.aSTM micro(internship) 30k p.m

For M.tech Tuition fees is average of 30K per sem for M.tech.Hostel and mess Charges are 40k per year.M.tech students gets stipend from MHRD of amount 12,400 p.mThe opportunities for internships and placements are good and scenario is improving. Companies like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, stm micro visits campus for M.tech Vlsi.

Campus is enriched with the extra curriculars. There are lots of clubs viz. Robotics club, culutural council, sports council and many more.Books are something that you can most easily get in IIT(ISM) as it has ASIA's 2nd largest library.Annual Culutral Fest : SrijanAnnual Tech Fest : Srijan

Hostel are very spacious.The room although are compact and 2-seaters for M.Tech freshers.However the size doesn't matter after a couple of weeks.The hostel has all resources viz. High speed internet, Mess, Playing yards, common room (T.V room), laundary, photostate, canteen e.t.c
