Energy Engineering at Central University of Jharkhand

University is still in its initial phase and running in temporary campus but it require a better administration and vision to grow, but inspite of so many hurdles and restrictions the students are performing very well in their respective fields.

The course curriculum is designed very well including major subjects of Mechanical engineering and electrical engineering branch like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics Theory of Machines, control system, power electronics, electrical machines etc. This course also includes the subjects based on the renewable sources of energy such as solar photovoltaics and thermal, wind energy, bioenegy, energy management and auditing. Exams were frequent, since University is still in the temporary campus so it does not have all the labs.

Some students from our department go for jobs in solar sector, consultancies etc and some go for higher studies. Overall scenario of placements in the university is not that good it still needs more exposure about the courses and the talents.

The largest event of the university os Khelotsav- a spprts and cultural festival, students from different colleges and universities participates in the event and some departmental fests are also celebrted such as the energiea etc.

The fee structure is purily feasible and varies for each school and department The fee structure in school of engineering and technology is around Rs. 9000 per semester excluding hostel and mess fee. Courses which don't require labs have even less fee around 6000 rupees.

University offers freeship to the eligible students. Students from different states gets their state's scholarship and also National level scholarships and fellowships for higher studies in India and abroad.

Students are engaged in different sports like cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, kabaddi and have bagged prizes at state and national level. Students are engaged in cultural events and involve in many awareness programs and volunteered in different government organized events etc.

Hostel rooms are very spacious and can accommodate 3 students, there are total 7 blocks in which more than 1500 students are staying and each block is connected with wifi facility and 24x7 electricity is also available.

University has good alumni network. Departments organises alumni meet time to time. I had a good experience with my alumni, they are very helpful and always guide us time to time regarding carer opportunities and also help us with internships and jobs.

After appearing in CUCET 2015 I was shortlisted in the Energy Engineering department for Five years Integrated M. tech course where I registered foe the admission process and after some tine I was called and the faculties told me about the course and its benefits. I chose this course because of its curriculum and future demand.

Faculties are highly qualified and they have a very effective way of teching and delivery of ideas. Faculties are always ready to help students and also guide them about the career opportunities in this new and emerging field of engineering.
