A glimpse into student's life at sudha rustagi dental college

Likes

The campus is bigger than other private college's. It's also neat and well maintained with several gardens at every corner.
The faculty is also well qualified with some of the qualifications come from prestigious colleges like LHMC and KGMU. The experience of the faculty is also admirable.
The focus and support the faculty gives to every student is also appreciable. The student to teacher ratio for each lecture is also good.

Dislikes

The campus could have more sports facilities like a proper badminton court. Some indoor courts or some good football courts. The sports infrastructure is the major thing the college lacks
The campus could have a bigger cafeteria as the old one is quite big but not as big as it should be. Alongwith that the options in the canteen is also limited and subjective
The college doesn't care about holidays and fests as the holidays are minimal and the fest getting organised is only 1 per year. Which is the worst thing a college can have

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the first year is similar to that of mbbs cause the course has all the subjects present in mbbs and also 2 subject extra which is preclinical.so the curriculum of the first year is similar. Also the other years subject are similar to general medicine.

Likes

Faculty of some subjects are actually very good . Especially the final year subject teachers .
A good patient exposure provided .like :in endo& cons. Dentistry: around 200+ restoration and 25+RCT . In community dentistry: camps in different areas . In oral surgery : 100+ extraction, arch bar
Lecture theatre were good. Some labs are also good.

Dislikes

Some labs are suffocating . Do not have proper ventilation .
Hostels - are not good . In single occupancy room - two students have to adjust . Washroom are not good . And dogs roam in hostel create a lot of noise.
In 1st,2 nd year - there is 1 class in dental clg and next class in another building which is quite away around 900 metres. Had to walk a lot .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is relevant as in today's world every person suffers from dental problem . And you are becoming a specialist - oral cavity specialist . In this course we don't deal with teeth only - we deal with various other problems of oral cavity also like many diseases of mouth like mpds, ulcers, lichen planus and many others. Some subjects are taught very good . Some are actually hectic . Timings of exam is ok .

Likes

Efficacy In teachers , their involvement in teaching and learning .
They balance out extra curricular activities along with studies
Healthy environment, ragging free campus

Dislikes

A bit low patient flow normally, also lack of social life
Infrastructure not that upto mark, water problems persist
Harsh and extreme weather conditions present

At the beginning I was also a bit dissatisfied with the decision to be a dentist but with time thighs started to fall in place and made me realise dentistry is not just studying yet it's a blend of art and science... The exams are held thrice a year by the college and finals by the uni along with that weekly vivas , tests and paper presentations are held too to keep the students in touch with the books ...

Likes

Teachers teach very well , better than all dental colleges
Patient flow is enough good for practice even it is private dental college but patient flow is good
Infrastructure is well maintained,top class infrastructure

Course Curriculum Overview:

Dentistry is more often chosen course after mbbs As it was World wide accepted degree So you can go anywhere in other countries after bds and you will get good salary minimum 75lakh to maximum 3 crore and if you have ability to setup clinic so you can easily get up upto 1 lakh per month easily

Course is well designed.I think it's accurate sometimes I feel like we have to give exams in 3rd year for prostho then why would study it in first year but I think its designed accurately.in first year I was absent in many prostho labs just becoz we have to go in third year also and exam will be in third year .

Likes

Atmosphere of the college is very good students can adapt in it easily
As a medico clinical exposure is mendetory and that is given to the students
Hostel facilities are good at minimal prize

Dislikes

Food quality of hostel mess can be improved
The charges of mess is high as compare to the food
Timings of the classes are not so comfortable

As a child i have a dream to become a doctor so i choosed this course . This curriculum prepares us for the interaction with patient and help them to provide proper treatment . our college should increase the frequency of field trips

things I like about my colleges the environment in our college there's a lot of trees and flowers which make the environment peaceful and also beautiful
SDDGPI organise an fest every year which is srijan and I love that
Our college is very good in extra curricular activities like it organise sports competition every month

Dislikes

Things I dislike is when ever rainy season is here or colleges filled with water
Sometimes our senior act as a teachers which is very very disappointing
As it's a private college we have to pay a lot of fines every year which I don't like

Dentistry is all about making people smile for me if you can design a smile for a person it's very beautiful. But this is not the reason I choose dentistry as all of the students agree if you don't opt MBBS seat you opt BDS which is professional course

Is pgids Rohtak good for bds ?

Likes

It is one of the oldest medical college in Haryana
It is the best dental college in north India with great patient exposure
It has high bed capacity making students learn more

Dislikes

Hostel infrastructure needs improvement in some terms
There is nothing else I dislike expect the hostel and washroom conditions in first year
Except these overall facilities and faculty of this college is great

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am someone who loves medicine and dentistry is art combined with medicine . We study all the medical subjects including anatomy , physio , briochem , dental materials etc . We have postings and practice on patients that develop our skills for future practice . The exams are moderate , you can get good marks if you are consistent and listen properly in class .

In all the departments staff is very corporative and supporative
Hostel facilities are very good and hostel wardrns are also great
In dental profession on hand practice is very important. Patient follow in thos college is very good

Dislikes

Food of mess is not good. Breafast, lunch, snacks are good but mostly dinner is not good

Course Curriculum Overview:

Each year the exam take place at the gap of 11 to 12 months. You have to pass in every subject to get promoted in the next academic year. Every subject is supposed to be of 200 marks and 70 marks is of theory exams 100 are practical exam and rest 30 marks are internal marks. Get pass in the exam you have to get 50 % in each subject.

Study environment is good ....Staff is well educated ...supportive in each terms
Campus is not very much big but it's good for bds environment
Library and other facilities like auditorium is good hostel is goof

Dislikes

Attendance issue is a big concern fail / pass ratio is more
No sports facilities not even a single event occurs in this college
Hostel mess quality is very poor no cafeterias nothing is good

Circulum process is very good....exams conducted every 3 months level is moderate to difficult ..... practical knowledge should be the main criteria to improve in our college ...lab works lab condition equipments are not provided by college
