It is DST-FIST sponsored department. It has quite good background in research as well. The curriculum of MSc is so organised that it will be beneficial in future in competitive exams like CSIR NET, GATE, NBHM etc.
Department offers multiple branches of mathematics as a subject with expertise faculties in individual subject.

There are total 120 seats in this department. In which 60 seats which are filled on merit basis. comes under GIA(grant in aid) and remaining seats comes under SF(self finance). For GIA students, Rs. 1530 is per semester fee for Boys and Rs. 750 for Girls. For SF students, Rs. 10,500 is per semester fees for everyone.
