The curriculum and syllabus for engineering students are not up to the mark. They still follow the old syllabus. The university claims to update the syllabus but it remains unsatisfactory. Student reviews regarding CVSTU faculty are not positive. Students and alumni claim that there is no seriousness with regard to teaching and even paper checking. Teachers who are unaware of subject concepts check the sheet. The answer sheet completed in 3 hrs takes them only 34 mins to check. Some faculty check answer sheets with music in earphones while checking, some are busy in their own conversation, and some are just scrolling. There is no seriousness in them.

Based on our research, the question paper is never of such a tough level but the disturbing thing is checking and paper analysis. The paper checking and marks distribution is arbitrarily done. Getting a CGPA between 7.5 to 8.5 is easy. For a 9 GPA and above, you have to work hard in all spheres, including high attendance, CT marks, practical marks, etc. Higher the internal marks, higher the GPA. All this depends on your college and how they mark your internals. The syllabus is almost similar to that of other Central universities of India and hardly changes in it.
