For admission to the Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] {Hons.} (Data Science) at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), students can apply through the Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test (CGPET) or JEE Mains. CGPET, conducted by CG VYPAM, is exclusive to Chhattisgarh residents, and the exam application is free. Alternatively, all-India candidates can apply through JEE Mains. CGPET exam consists of a 3-hour test with 150 questions, covering basic concepts from Class 11 and 12, and admission requires a minimum Class 12 percentage of 45% to 60%.
The cutoffs vary, with CGPET ranks generally requiring a percentile range of 55 to 70%. JEE Mains applicants typically need a minimum percentile of 60 to 80+, with some mentions of up to 90%. CSVTU offers merit-based admissions, with 50% of seats reserved for each entrance exam. The counseling typically concludes by the end of August, after exams in July. Required documents include CSAB documents, Aadhaar card, income certificate, domicile certificate, and Class 10 and 12 mark sheets.
The university boasts good infrastructure, a large campus, and impressive placement rates, making it an attractive option for students seeking affordable education in Chhattisgarh, with rigorous academic requirements.
