NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Fees and Financial Aid:

Total fees for year for 1st year is approx 1,78,500 rupees for those whose family income is greater than 5 lakh rupees and category is other than sc,st and pwd. Total tution fee is 1,25,000 rupees. Caution fee is taken for only one time during first semester admission and amount is 20,000 rupees. Admission fee is 2000 rupees. Development fee is 3000 rupees and some other charges also apply. In my college there is some category where students payment less fee. For income more than 5 lakh rupees, they have to pay 1,25,00 rupees tution fee but for those students whose family income is between 1 to 5 lakh they have to pay only one third of tution fee i.e, 41,666 rupees. For those students whose family income is less than 1 lakh rupees or there category is sc/st/pwd they don't pay any tution fee. In my college NSP scholarship is provided by central government to those students whose family background is not good and amount is approx 50,000. Some private scholarship also provided to students so that they pay their college fees.

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

The tuition fees here will be varying according to the category and family income of the candidate. SC/ST students receive a hundred percent tuition fee waiver irrespective of their family income. If you belong to a different category, you will be paying the tuition fees according to your family income. If your family income is below 1 lakh per annum, you will be receiving a hundred percent tuition fee waiver but if your family income falls anywhere between 1 lakh and 1 rupee to 5 lakh per annum, you will be receiving a two third tution fee waiver which means that you will be paying only one third of the tuition fee which is my case too but if your family income is greater than 5 lakhs per annum, then you will need to pay 100% tuition fee and no waivers will be applicable for you. Irrespective of your category or family income, other fees which include the hostel fee, library fee, mess fee, etc. need to be paid and no waivers are provided. Scholarships are provided once you get admitted to your respective course. Few scholarship providers include NSP, Reliance, SBI, etc. The criterias for every scholarship is different which generally prefer on the basis of your category and family income. As an nitian, I can give you a real information of fee structure and scholarship details Fee structure is divided as- 1) Tution fee- 62,500/-(per semester)*2=1,25,100/-(yearly) 2) One time fee charges-5,000/- to 10,000/-(per semester)*2=20000/-(yearly) 3) Hostel - around 6,000/-(per semester)*2=12,000/-(yearly) 4)mess advance- 22,500/-(per semester)*2=45,000/-(yearly) hence for entire four year fee is approx 5..44lakh to 6.14 lakh many scholarships are povided to support students financially, there are NSP , STATE GOVERNMENT and other category students full tution fee wavier is applicable for SC,ST PWD students and it is also applicable GENERAL/OBC studens whose annual family income is less than 1lakh 1/3 rd tution fee wavier is also here for general/obc students whose family income is betweem 1lakh to 5lakh

NIT SILCHAR : A journey of excellence, growth and opportunities

I chose nit silchar not only for its academic excellence but also because of its structured and TRANSPARENT fee system which, although increasing slightly over the years, remains affordable compared to private instituition aslo the sc st students did not have to pay anything they just had to pay the mess fee, which is very less. The fee is 1 lac 50 thousand.

Nit Silchar the beautiful college to visit

Basically there are three types of fee structure in our college. Those students whose family income is 1. below 1 lakh or belong to ST/SC category the tution fee is zero. 2. Between 1-5 lakhs the tution fee is 20833. 3. Above 5 lakhs the tution fee is 62500. The other fee includes caution registration, lab fee, exam fee etc is 38000 for 1st semester only and 10100 from 2nd year onwards.

NIT SILCHAR? WORTHED!!

During the course completion, students at the institute pay an annual fees of 96000 and tution fees of 62000, which is taken in two parts, half each semester. However the tution fees for SC, ST and PWD canditates are waived. For the registration process a sum of 5000 has to be paid during the JOSSA councelling. The fees breakup of a semester include a mandatory 11000 sum, which includes all the necessary bills, from light to water and medical insurance, medicines, sports fees, exam fees, lab charges, student union fees, cleaning and other as oer the required breakup. Over the four year period, various scolarship opportunities are provided. In the 1st year itself numerous merit-based scolarships are provided on behalf of college and government, comprising it is an Institute of National Importance. For SC, ST, PWD students, only the minimum mess and hostel bills and students are also given fee relaxation based on parental income.

Students having family income less than 1 lakh They have to pay 0 rupees tuition fees+ 38000 for hostel and other facilities along with 22500 mess fees mandatory for all categories students no rebate 2 students having their family income between 1 to 5 lakh they get one third tuition fees rebate and they have to pay 20833 tuition fees and 38000 other hostel and facilities fees along with 22500 mess fees 3 students having their family income more than 5 lakh they have to 62500 tuition fees + 40000 hostel and other facility fees + 22500 mess fees As my room mate belongs to SC category het get full 100,% rebate on tuition fees his fees structure is same that of income under 1 lakh students

In NIT Silchar Whose Family Income is More than 5 lac has to be pay Rs. 62500 Tuition fees. Between 1 lac to 5 lac has to be pay Rs. 20833.Below 1 lac has 0 Tuition fees. Mess fees is to be paid by everyone which is Rs 22500. Everyone have to be paid Rs.11000 which is for other curriculum like Transport Facility, Medical Facility, Admission Fees, Library etc .

Comprehensive Review of NIT Silchar

The first year includes subjects common for all first years. It includes sujects ranging from Maths, Basic Electronics to Mechanics and Engineering Design. From Second Year onwards are when the course for each branch diverts and we start to learn more about our respective branches in depth.
