It's best of what is available, I got opportunity from other colleges as well but the product design and management is one of the kind and it's not available anywhere else,so it's a perfect program for my meeda
For the eligibility for the students will be based on the previous studies high school or degree based the you course selection. There will be a entrance exam called PGEE or anther way is to get in is your JEE-MAINS score.. The exams can bee challanging so the students need to prepare well for the exams. I think there is no need for Improvement in the admission process.
The admission process include, the students must get 99% in JEE and JEE Advance to get admission in BTECH and to get MTECH admission studentsd should clear their BTECH and should get 90% above percentage in GATE. Their are 6 years integrated courses and their admission process also same. Their will be a entrace exam conducted by admission management based the exam results also their will be admissions carried out.
There are different modes of admission in our college like Jee rank, 12th standard marks, etc. There is also a mode for students from foreign countries. You can find all the details about it from www.iiit.ac.in. There are no reservations based on caste. The admission process is a little bit hectic since you have to pay around 2 lacs if you have a course and have to wait for other rounds for upgradation. Also, there is 20,000 rupees as an initial admission cost.
There are various modes of admission, the mode I took was jee mains. The cutoff for computer science was AIR 2000 in my year. The admission form is available on the official site of the college. Apart from gender reservation there aren't any other reservation.
we have 7 modes of admisiions for undergraduates . 1. JEE : admisiions are based on jee main scores .the cutoffs are generally very high artound 99.8-99.9 percentile in jee mains . through this we can get only in single degree courses like CSE,ECE .it has 100 seats in each course. 2. SPEC : students enrolled in 6 year integraed btech program aftyer 12th and jnv students are eligible . they have to clear one written test(MCQS) SUPR and then qualify interview to get seat. has 15 seats each in CSE,ECE. 3. DASA : the applicant must hold a foreign passport and admission is made through SAT scores .the cutoff is generally around 1550-1600. 4. UGEE : this is for dual degree . they have to clear written exams in 2 stages SUPR + REAP . thereafter, qualify the interview round to get a seat . 5. LEEE : students already enrolled in btech and are in currently 4th semester can apply to continue btech from iiit hyderabad from ug2 . they have to clear written test and interview. 6,7:OLympiad ,BOARDS.
You need to clear the UGEE exam, ther cutoff is around 100 /150, after clearing the cutoff, you will be interviewed and ranked based on interview for getting the seat, u need to get 70% or above in 12th boards, application form fees and dates are on iiit.ac.in website, no reservations , the exam UGEE will be held once every year and it easier than JEE mains, but test is different from mains, your aptitude is tested in the test and how well do you know concepts and apply them in real life.

My mode of admission was UGEE. You need more than 97 percentile in mains to qualify for it. The admission process was much simple that the common allocation ie. josaa After writing UGEE, you are asked to give online interviews and you are asked to provide a preference order. => A small issue with the UGEE mode of admission is that you can only choose one of the dual degree courses. There are 2 rounds of allocation so based on that you are allocated a seat the procedure in each round is similar to Josaa

The mode of entry for my case was UGEE. It is the only exam held by IIIT-H on its own behalf specifically aimed for its dual-degree courses. The exam has two rounds. The first round is a written paper of 3 hrs divided into two sections SUPR (60 Marks, 1hr) and REAP (120 Marks, 2hrs). Each section has its own cutoff so the candidate has to clear both sections' cutoff to clear foe the next round. Both papers were easy (JEE Main Level) with only REAP being a burden as it focused on logical and reasoning questions (something i barely passed). For future applicants, it may be easier has they will have reliable PYQs, something i faced difficulty in acquiring due to poor transparency on IIIT-H's side. Next comes the personal interview round. It comes after the result of the first round and it consists of a personal interview by a panel of proferssors. The inetrview was a bit quirky, but easy for me nonetheless. I hope this helps.

Admission process was quite smooth the eligibility for the admission was quite similar to josaa. Frequent mails and the college insta profile updates about the admissions and activities. Application fees was moderate and the dates were inbetween jee main 2nd attempt and jee advanced giving time to prepare. Only a state reservation was valid for the underprivileged giving them an opportuinity to reap the benefits of the institution.

It’s wrong to say that IIIT Hyderabad Cutoff has its cutoff more than NITs when NITs are the ones who are lowering the cutoffs with each passing year. IIIT-Hyderabad has been maintaining its standard from the beginning. Here are a few reasons why IIIT Hyderabad has high cutoffs
These are some strong reasons why IIIT Hyderabad has cutoffs even higher than NITs.
IIIT Hyderabad offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. The admission criteria and cutoff for each program may vary.
For undergraduate programs such as B.Tech, the following exams are accepted:
The cutoff for JEE Main is determined based on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of applicants, the availability of seats, etc. Hence, the cutoff may vary every year.
For example, in 2021, the JEE Main cutoff for admission to IIIT Hyderabad for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was 1064. However, the cutoff may be different for other programs and categories.
</IIIT Hyderabad percentile cutoff for both the common pool and diversity pool has been mentioned below
Round |
BTech in CSE Common Pool |
BTech in CSE Diversity Pool |
1 |
99.95 |
99.84 |
2 |
99.87 |
99.74 |
3 |
99.85 |
99.70 |
4 |
99.83 |
99.70 |
5 |
99.78 |
98.68 |
So, from the above table, we can conclude that the minimum percentile required for a male candidate to get IIIT Hyderabad CSE is 99.78 whereas for a female candidate is 99.68.
IIIT Hyderabad cutoff marks depend on the branch you will be taking. The closing ranks for both BTech CSE and BTech ECE have been mentioned below
Round |
BTech in CSE |
BTech ECE |
1 |
445 |
1005 |
2 |
1264 |
4606 |
3 |
1398 |
5439 |
4 |
1536 |
6251 |
5 |
2017 |
10318 |
To stay on the safe side, one needs to get a rank of 2017 for CSE and 10318 for ECE. The respective range of marks based on experts' analysis is 181-200 for CSE and 141-160 for CE.
Hope this helped you!
There is no such proof that the standard at IIT Hyderabad is going down. However, there is proof of their consistency, you can check the round one cut-off of each year below:
Program |
2020 JEE Main Cut off |
2019 JEE Main Cut off |
2018 Cut off |
2017 Cut off |
Computer Science & Engineering |
577 |
573 |
287 |
285 |
Electronics and Communication Engineering |
1197 |
941 |
270 |
270 |
You can clearly see that the cutoffs are almost the same from 2017 till now which shows you that IIIT-Hyderabad has maintained its standards since then.
Also, you might need to know the reasons for the high cutoff to date: No reservation policy, 12th boards marks aren’t required for admission (but a minimum of 60% in PCM is required), The reputation they have built over the years with the placements, academic and research work, Never compromise the quality with the quantity and High emphasis on coding culture and their reputation in that.
