Admission to this government university is through entrance exams like EAMCET for engineering courses, organized by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education. Counseling and certificate verification follow for college selection. Diploma holders can also join via the ECET exam. The faculty, mostly with M.Tech or Ph.D. qualifications, maintain a 1:80 teacher-student ratio, and the teaching quality is deemed average. Academic rigor is ensured with eight semester exams and 32 lab exams annually.
The annual fee is about 40,000 INR, covering tuition (2,500 INR) and hostel fees (20,000 INR). Eligible students can receive government scholarships, such as Jagananna Vidya Deevena, which cover these costs. The semester fee is around 2,000 INR, and a government reimbursement reduces the student fee to 5,000 INR, excluding exam fees, which may add 2,000 INR per semester. Placements are challenging, with only about 30% securing offers, and a low placement ratio of 1 in 15.
Some students, however, report placements in companies like Wipro and Infosys with packages of 6 to 7 lakhs per annum. The placement cell's effectiveness is mixed, with no internships provided by the college. Scholarships such as Jindal and Jnanabhoomi are available, significantly lowering education costs. Despite its self-financed model, the college offers affordable education due to government control.
