- The University of Sheffield is a very reputable university and part of the Russel Group, which consists of elite UK universities. It has a very strong alumni network globally.
- Most professors are very highly qualified & knowledgeable.
- There is a lot of support available for students from professors, Teaching Assistants, Personal tutors & student services/students' union. Sheffield SU has been voted the best SU in the UK for many years now.
Dislikes
- There is not a lot of support for International students from career service. Most of their support is limited to tailoring your resume & cover letter which is helpful for graduates. However, for students with prior work experience or International students there should be focused support especially with the challenges of getting skilled worker visa.
- A lot of modules are taught in a year. Hence, teaching can feel a bit rushed. The onus is on you to study regularly & attend your lectures to be in a good position.
- For my course of Information Systems, there should have been more electives from Computer Science department. As a Software Engineer I would have loved that.
- I stayed in university accommodation. I applied through the university website. They are most trustworthy; that's why I chose them. I
- I paid £6,800 for the year. I shared a flat with 6 other students. We had our own rooms & shared a kitchen & bathroom.
- It's easy to get university accommodation.
- Staying in university accommodation was the best decision. I wanted to have a global experience & that's what I got. In my flat, there were 2 Indians, including me, 2 British, 1 German, and 1 Dutch. We were 4 boys & 3 girls. We got along very well & I had no issues.
- Private accommodations are cheaper, and Indian students prefer to stay within Indian groups. My advice would be to go and mix with people from other countries. What is the point of going abroad to study if you don't mix with other people?
- That's why I would recommend staying at university accommodation.
- My accommodation was just a 2-minute walk from the Diamond, where we had most of our classes. I made many friends in Mappin Court, including Indians. I had an amazing time there. My fellow Indian friends were very happy too.

- One thing I want to mention I like the most is they way Curriculum is designed, it focuses more on building your life personal skills than academic, and University stands out on it.
Dislikes
- Dislike is I have to daily walk 45 min to my classes
- I found it through amber students, it pretty decent. I always suggest coming here to stay In hotel watch rooms you going to stay before booking; facilities are good, sometime rooms are too small.

- The University provides CV building, career inputs and advices.
- The campus is really nice and friendly.
- I found the accommodation via Amber App, which has multiple options across the globe. Monthly rent varies depending the location, type of room. University accommodations are bit expenses compared to other.

- I really liked the way of teaching at my university. It was easy for me to learn.
- The professors were friendly and easily approachable.
- The Students Union at my university are very supportive.
Dislikes
- The University Accomodation was very expensive , though it was near the university.
- I disliked because the university didn’t hold any competitions or events to encourage students.
- I also disliked that each buildings are far from each other , which made commuting difficult.
- I opted for private accommodation. I found this through Amber Accommodation.
- The monthly rent was 450 GBP, and the common room, gaming room, study room, and access to gardens were included.
- The challenge I faced was shifting to other rooms. Some of the rooms were very badly maintained, for which I had to complain and switch to other rooms.
- I recommend Sheffield 3 as the cheapest option for accommodation. It is around a 15-minute walk to the university from my accommodation.

- I really liked the course structure. It was very well balanced with theory and practical knowledge.
- The faculty was supportive and always encourage independent thinking.
- The diverse student community and vibrant campus life.
Dislikes
- Some modules were rushed due to time limit.
- Limited career support as an international student.
- Occasionally late feedback and assignment results.
- I searched for accommodation through an online platform called amber students. There you can compare the prices, locations, and sizes of the houses and decide which one fits your needs. You can also chat with them and tell them your preference and they can sort some places for you.
- Sheffield being a hilly area, there are so many ups and downs, so I preferred to get a place near my uni building, which made commuting easier.

- Rushing to buildings spread across the city making it hard to reach lectures on time
- I have opted for Off Campus Accommodation. There are student accommodations available through websites online like Amber, UniHomes, etc. that help you find accommodation in the city.
- My monthly rent is around 500 pounds. I have my personal bedroom and washroom but shared kitchen and common space like theatre, pool table, study rooms, karaoke rooms etc. It was pretty easy to find accommodations in this city. It's very close to my University and right in the city centre.

- The professors and other course-related staff are very friendly and easily approachable. They are very helpful and understanding.
- The way they care for students. Every student has a personal tutor whom we can go to for any personal, professional and academic help.
- Acceptance of foreign students
Dislikes
- Could improve cultural and sports activities for masters students which will help in networking.
- I feel the tuition fee is higher for what we learnt in this one year
- No facility for transport to students.
- I live in a private student accommodation. I found this online. It wasn’t so difficult to find accommodation.
- I have a silver ensuite room. My rent is about £500 a month. It is a single room with an attached bathroom and a common kitchen shared by four of us.
- My accommodation is just a 15-minute walk to the university. And I have a tram station just opposite my accommodation. So it's easier to travel and most Indian students stay here and in the nearby area.

- Great Professors The professors were working on cutting-edge AI/ML research at Sheffield, primarily in NLP and Robotics. I personally worked with a leading robotics researcher on path planning and optimization and got thorough hands-on experience.
- State-of-the-Art Infrastructure
- Up-to-Date Course Content - The course content was up to date and contained all latest technology. We went through latest ML research papers to see the advancement in the field and how this has come about from the earlier methods.
Dislikes
- Extremely Short Classes for In-depth Courses - Complex topics like BERT and Langchain were rushed due to limited time allocation. There wasn't enough time to cover advanced topics thoroughly.
- Expensive for International Students
- Very Few Graduate Student Events - Events were primarily focused on undergraduate students, with limited activities planned for graduate students.
- I found my accommodation through online websites and the rent was 115 pounds per week. There were no major challenges apart from the fact that booking the accommodation required me to connect with people in the UK and that required me to spend money on international talktime.
- For future students, just start looking for places around 3-4 months before your course starts otherwise you might end up not securing the place as they usually run out due to high demand.
- My accommodation was only 200m from my university.

- The Campus is scattered around the city (Close to each other), so you get a lot of chances to roam around the city and take lectures.
- The professors here (Specially in Data Science) are quite knowledgeable and experienced so getting the guidance is quite fruitful.
- The Student Union in Sheffield is one of the best in the UK, so there are a lot of societies and clubs to join and there's always an event going to happen.
Dislikes
- Food is a bit of an issue, I mean the canteen is good but for Indians, you have to find somewhere else to eat.
- As mentioned the campus is scattered across the city, which is good but sometimes it kind of becomes a hassle when you have to walk for 30 minutes before a lecture every morning.
- Relatively expensive things here at the University.
- Amber helped me with accommodation. The rent is £500 per month, which includes the basic utilities and amenities: Wi-Fi, heating, and access to shared kitchen and living spaces. The location is great, fairly close to the campus of the University of Sheffield.
- The official portals for student accommodation and joining groups on Telegram for extra suggestions were really useful while searching for accommodations. A challenge was seeing that the room's availability falls within the time I needed.
- I recommend starting early, trying more than one platform, and considering university and private housing as well. Ecclesall Road and the city center are other places where many Indian students stay.

- The thing I loved the most about my uni was the detail and attention used for creating each course work assignment. SUMS made sure that the students use both creative aspects and academic learning for each assignment, which made it very unique and educative. This made creating each assignment and writing the essays, more fun.
- I absolutely loved all of the societies and activities done by the student union. There was something for everyone, be it sports, music, introduced to new cultures or travelling. I participated in a lot of these events and my favourite one was travelling to the peak district over thanksgiving holiday.
- I liked the support system placed for students to help us with anything we may have a issue with.
Dislikes
- To be honest, I do not have much to say about what I dislike as I loved my time in Sheffield and my University. The few aspects that I can think of are:
- We could have had more practical projects and in person activities to supplement our assignments
- The fees is a bit high in my opinion, as I am an international student, and I had to pay a lot more compared to home students.
- I used an online platform suggested by my counsellor to book my Accommodation.
- My rent per week was 104 pounds and it included access to laundry machines(paid), a common room with games and Kitchen, and en-suite room(with private bathroom) and a shared kitchen.
- I did not face any challenge to secure my Accommodation as it was quite an easy process
- My only recommendation would be to check the walking distance from your Accommodation to your department building as that makes a huge difference in time management.
- My Accommodation was within a 15 minute walking distance from my department building and write in the centre of University campus. Most of the Indian students state in the neighbourhood under different accommodations.
