  • The campus is really good and well maintained.
  • The Diamond is a fascinating building with multiple lecture halls, labs, theatres and research facilities.
  • There is a separate library building as well.

  • I found the accommodation via Amber App, which has multiple options across the globe. Monthly rent varies depending the location, type of room. University accommodations are bit expenses compared to other.

  • There are many campuses in my college. For engineering it was
    • The Diamond and
    • Sir Frederick Mappin Building
  • There are study spaces, canteens, and libraries in each of the campuses.
  • There is an international cultural festival which will be held once every year that takes place at my university.
  • For sports and extracurriculars, they give a form whether the students are interested in participating in the university team.

  • I opted for private accommodation. I found this through Amber Accommodation.
  • The monthly rent was 450 GBP, and the common room, gaming room, study room, and access to gardens were included.
  • The challenge I faced was shifting to other rooms. Some of the rooms were very badly maintained, for which I had to complain and switch to other rooms.
  • I recommend Sheffield 3 as the cheapest option for accommodation. It is around a 15-minute walk to the university from my accommodation.

  • Our university has a city campus so all different departments are spread across sheffield city. My department was based in a building called The wave but we also had lectures in the Diamond building.
  • We have two main libraries called the Western bank library and the Information commons. There always used to be some or other event going on around the student union building. We had over 500 clubs for extracurricular activities.

  • I searched for accommodation through an online platform called amber students. There you can compare the prices, locations, and sizes of the houses and decide which one fits your needs. You can also chat with them and tell them your preference and they can sort some places for you.
  • Sheffield being a hilly area, there are so many ups and downs, so I preferred to get a place near my uni building, which made commuting easier.

  • It has one campus spread across the city of Sheffield. The campus has many facilities such as 3-4 libraries, lots of different sports from football ground, water sports, cricket, tennis and many more, there are plenty of medical facilities and the main one for university students is the university health service UHS.
  • There's ROAR and every Wednesday event , career fair, freshers fair, society activities. There's lot of societies based on culture, country, sports, religious belief etc that have different events one can join

  • I have opted for Off Campus Accommodation. There are student accommodations available through websites online like Amber, UniHomes, etc. that help you find accommodation in the city.
  • My monthly rent is around 500 pounds. I have my personal bedroom and washroom but shared kitchen and common space like theatre, pool table, study rooms, karaoke rooms etc. It was pretty easy to find accommodations in this city. It's very close to my University and right in the city centre.

  • My college has only one campus, but it owns multiple buildings for various courses, which are all spread out across the city.
  • So it is not one huge campus, but it’s a mix of multiple buildings across the city. The university has a student union, which has multiple societies for sports, student organisations and cultural events.
  • It also has a wonderful sports club and gym. Sheffield Student is one of the best student unions in the UK and hosts events all throughout the year.

  • I live in a private student accommodation. I found this online. It wasn’t so difficult to find accommodation.
  • I have a silver ensuite room. My rent is about £500 a month. It is a single room with an attached bathroom and a common kitchen shared by four of us.
  • My accommodation is just a 15-minute walk to the university. And I have a tram station just opposite my accommodation. So it's easier to travel and most Indian students stay here and in the nearby area.

  • There is only 1 campus and yes there was a library, sports facilities, and medical services.
  • I do not know about any of the extracurricular events that took place on campus because as a graduate student I did not have the opportunity nor the time to focus on such stuff.
  • I was a part of the computer science society that usually hung out after university hours and spend time on hackathons and puzzles.

  • I found my accommodation through online websites and the rent was 115 pounds per week. There were no major challenges apart from the fact that booking the accommodation required me to connect with people in the UK and that required me to spend money on international talktime.
  • For future students, just start looking for places around 3-4 months before your course starts otherwise you might end up not securing the place as they usually run out due to high demand.
  • My accommodation was only 200m from my university.

  • Studying at the University of Sheffield guarantees an exciting campus life with numerous extra-curricular activities and clubs.
  • Main Campus Facilities: Library, sports facilities, and medical facilities are included. Major Events: Welcome Week and International Festival. Athletic clubs, cultural societies, and volunteering offer good opportunities for students to get involved outside the classroom.
  • Most Indian students prefer to stay in nearby accommodations.

  • Amber helped me with accommodation. The rent is £500 per month, which includes the basic utilities and amenities: Wi-Fi, heating, and access to shared kitchen and living spaces. The location is great, fairly close to the campus of the University of Sheffield.
  • The official portals for student accommodation and joining groups on Telegram for extra suggestions were really useful while searching for accommodations. A challenge was seeing that the room's availability falls within the time I needed.
  • I recommend starting early, trying more than one platform, and considering university and private housing as well. Ecclesall Road and the city center are other places where many Indian students stay.

  • As the university of Sheffield is a city campus, all of the departments are spread over throughout the city, and I don't know the exact count of the total number of campus.
  • We had two libraries, one massive sports centre with multiple playing grounds, career guidance department assisting students with their applications, medical services (UHS) and a student union with numerous multicultural experiences and canteen.
  • The most popular event of UoS is Roar which is a sports event.
  • The student union has a lot of options for different kind of extra curricular activities like sports, travelling to different places, reading club, gaming club, et cetera. The one I found most interesting was GIAG(give it a go) where you can try a lot of different activities like celebrating a festival or trying out a sport for the first time.

  • I used an online platform suggested by my counsellor to book my Accommodation.
  • My rent per week was 104 pounds and it included access to laundry machines(paid), a common room with games and Kitchen, and en-suite room(with private bathroom) and a shared kitchen.
  • I did not face any challenge to secure my Accommodation as it was quite an easy process
  • My only recommendation would be to check the walking distance from your Accommodation to your department building as that makes a huge difference in time management.
  • My Accommodation was within a 15 minute walking distance from my department building and write in the centre of University campus. Most of the Indian students state in the neighbourhood under different accommodations.

  • The university does not have a confined building. The epicentre of the university is in and around the Students Union where most of the students like to hangout. Alongside there are Muti-discipline library, cafes and a host of clubs and restaurants in the same area.
  • Students will find lots of options in the West Street and City Centre region.
  • The major campus festivals are the ball room festival and freshers with other events happening with sports as well.

  • My friend helped me find accommodation. The monthly rent was 500£ with all facilities included.
  • Whilst being a student, you are exempted from paying council tax. There were no major challenges to booking student accommodation because Sheffield is a student-friendly city.
  • The accommodation is 10 minutes walk from the university. Most of the Indian students stay in university accommodations together.

The Uni has separate buildings for different courses, with each building equipped with the best technologies, and infrastructure. All buildings have their own cafés for coffee and snacks between lectures. There are three libraries and study spaces. There is a students union building which has all the fun aspect, tech support, student support, free stalls everyday, etc. The octagon is the amphitheater. The interval is our main cafe and BARONE is our main bar/club. We have a lot of clubs and societies that students can be a part of and the main site for all activities and adventures in uni is GIVE IT A GO.

Uni accommodation- they have flats with separate en suites, but shared kitchen and living area. These are very safe buildings and I personally loved the uni accommodation and preferred it over getting my own. They have a common laundromat. They also have special events organised for only accommodation students free of cost. It costs about £9,000 for one year. Other accommodation- there are many other places to look the accommodation for yourself. The best sites to look at are Zoopla, SpareRoom and Rentola. There the prices are HALF of uni accom. But you also have to thoroughly search the area codes and distance from your uni building before renting out the place. Or if you’re ready to walk in the distance. Facilities might be less than what’s provided by uni but this is way more budget-friendly.
