My experience in Home sheffield

I had received offers from the University of Manchester, the University of Sussex, the University of Reading, in addition to the University of Sheffield. I didn't get any rejections. The University of Manchester course was Management of Information Systems, which is more business-related. The University of Sussex was in Information Technology, so more technology-related. The University of Reading was Business Consulting. I was between the University of Sheffield & Manchester. Both are Russell Group universities. The University of Manchester is higher ranked. However, I really loved the course at Sheffield. It was a good blend of technology & business. That was the major reason for choosing Sheffield. Also, the University of Manchester's tuition fees were higher, and I got a scholarship at the University of Sheffield. The admission process is very easy. You have to fill out the application, provide your transcripts, write a statement of purpose & get 2 letters of recommendation from your professors/teachers/employers. I took IELTS & got an 8 band. Generally the minimum requirement is 6.5. IELTS is generally more common in the UK. Overall admission experience was good. The University of Sheffield reached out to me for grade conversion. I provided that and got the acceptance in a few weeks. I would highly recommend applying as early as possible. September 2022 intake Most UK universities have a Sept intake. That's why I applied for it. In January very few universities/courses have intake. I applied in December and got an offer in January from the University of Sheffield. It depends on the university. The University is well ranked in UK and globally as well. Secondly, the cost of living in Sheffield was bit economical than the other options. Data Science is a booming field and because of my personal interest in that subject. My Score : IELTS 7.5. (This is the only exam I took up)....Read More

I applied for the following univerisities: University of Bristol—accepted but I didn't opt as the cost of living is too high University of Birmingham—accepted but I didn't opt as it's an unsafe city in the UK University of Sheffield—accepted (got admitted here) Edinburgh University—accepted but didn't opt as I got an offer letter really late. University of Leeds—rejected as they required work experience for my course I joined the University of Sheffield as my course here has good recognition (ScHAAR accredited). The admission process was very simple and easy. They required IELTS eligibility of overall band 7, with minimum scores of 65% in the undergrad course . I applied to the following universities: University of Leeds—Rejected Queen Mary University of London—Shortlisted Aston University—Shortlisted University of Sheffield—Shortlisted University of Birmingham—Rejected I think the reason for rejection is I didn't have relevant modules in my bachelor's education, which was needed for their relevant master's program. The acceptance rate was also low for these universities. I chose this college over others because the ranking was excellent, and I read in the reviews that the teaching was good. I was really interested in the modules they taught. For the admission process, they told me to submit relevant documents in their MUSE account. They gave me the CAS after paying the deposit amount. The eligibility criteria is IELTS (overall – 7; Reading, Writing, Speaking, listening – minimum 7.5) The overall experience was excellent. I applied to the 2023-2024 intake. First was that I really liked the course here and it was my top two choices in the entire list. Second reason was mostly the timing of the offer. This was the first offer. I received and being high up on my preference list, I decided not to extend my decision period for the other offer and accept it. Most of the other universities confirmed my offer quite late. I Choose the UK for their reputed and quality education. Also, the term of study is one year compared to other countries that have two years of master's. Admitted into these Universities -  University of Toronto, University of Bath, University of Warwick, Miami University Ohio, Concordia University, University of Sheffield, Christ University Bangalore The above Universities I received confirmed admission from. Rejected - Boston University - I was financially weak and they needed much stronger personality   It had strong mental support which was very much needed then and it matched all my preferences then - financially and safely.  I had to apply through UCAS by submitting my personal statement and IB scores. Since I had an internationally accepted degree I didn't give any other exams except for IELTS which wasn't needed apart from that they needed 34 minimum to accept me. Applied to:-  The University of Sheffield - Admitted University of Strathclyde - Admitted University of Stirling - Admitted Kings College London - Rejected Imperial College - Rejected University of Bath - Admitted Durham University - Rejected I think the reason why I got rejected from Imperial and Kings College are due to the extremely high CGPA required to even make it to the cutoff for their top courses. The courses that were offered for the degree that I chose were more in line with what I wanted to learn over the other colleges. The admission process involved submitting all previous education documents and work experience certificates as well as detailing all my accomplishments. I had to write a statement of purpose as well as a scholarship essay during my application. There was a need for IELTS and GRE Scores as well. (Min. IELTS - 8.0, Min GRE - 250). Post this there was a admission panel consideration of my profile and due to my excellent credentials, I was offered the chance to skip ahead any further admission processes and to instead join the campus in 2 months. The admission experience was fairly smooth and nothing out of the ordinary. Full support provided by the university and there are personnel on call to ensure that you are having a great time. 2022 Intake and the admission process took approximately 2 months. I applied to the universities, University of Edinburgh, University of Birmingham, University of Liverpool, University of Bristol, University of Sheffield, and Newcastle University. Got admitted into all of them except the University of Edinburgh (The reason was that the Undergrad was not in a relevant field). I went with the University of Sheffield because of its employability expect. The reason to choose Sheffield, was firstly it's less expensive compared to other cities like London and Manchester. Secondly, the course was based on employability which is quite important in my opinion. The Living expenses were also in a manageable range. The admission process was quite smooth, got mail about the pre-registration tasks, and when to apply for a VISA, how to pay the fees, they have a dedicated platform for all of it so the process was quite easy to follow furthermore, they have Indian representative in India so in case of doubt you can reach out to them. The eligibility criteria for this course are IELTS at least a 6.5 band and an undergrad in a relevant field with some mathematics. I have applied for the intake of 2024, which aligns with my aim of starting my master's after proper preparation. The admission process took around 2-3 months that included the following steps: preparation of documents, submission of application, conditional offer, completion of requirements such as financial proof, issuance of CAS, loan approval, and a student visa. I applied to 10 universities and got accepted into seven universities. I did miss the deadlines of a few universities. I received admission to the University of Surrey, Nottingham, Leeds, Strathclyde, and the University of Sheffield. I received a rejection from The University of Warwick. I received a rejection because I was late in sending the application, and the vacancy for the applied course was filled. My course is unique. Whilst in India, I was already working as an AI engineer, and my next goal was to find a good application domain for AI. The University of Sheffield was the only university to have a course which integrates AI with cybersecurity. Even the University of Surrey had a course integrating AI with 5G. Though I got accepted into both of these universities, I chose Sheffield because of its better QS global ranking. (93rd in 2021) and it belonged to the Russel Group. The overall admission process was fairly simple. I had to submit an LOR, an SOP and my IELTS score. I applied for the September 2021 intake. The only factor that influenced my decision was the unique course offering and its structure. The admission process did not take a very long time. I received a decision within 2 weeks.
