Middlesex University offers 12+ scholarships, of which 7 are accessible to Indian applicants.

The two largest, the International High Achievers Award and the Merit Reduction, together strip up to £5,000 off tuition automatically at offer stage. Indian students can stack these with a 20% alumni discount or a 5% early payment discount, dropping the cash outlay below INR 12 Lakhs.

For the full institutional context including course spread and campus intake, see the Middlesex University London overview page.

  • Standard UG tuition: £16,600-£17,376 (INR 19.39-20.29 Lakhs)
  • With £5,000 High Achievers Award: £11,600-£12,376 (INR 13.55-14.45 Lakhs)
  • PG tuition with £5,000 award plus 20% alumni discount: as low as £3,932 (INR 4.59 Lakhs) on the cheapest programme

Award amounts labelled "tuition reduction" are applied directly to the fee invoice, so no cash transfer to the student is involved.

Middlesex University Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

Middlesex University offers merit scholarships, as well as departmental scholarships to international undergraduate students. As example, The Professor Brenda Barrett Law Bursaries are designed to support incoming first year Law students who require financial assistance (£1,000/INR 1.28 Lakhs). Other scholarships are tabulated below.

Scholarship Amount Eligibility Deadline
International High Achievers Award £5,000 (INR 5.84 Lakhs) Overall 80% aggregate in Class 12 (CBSE, ISC, or major state boards) Automatic at offer; tentative August 15, 2026 for September intake
International Merit Reduction £2,000 (INR 2.34 Lakhs) Overall 70-79% in Class 12; awarded when High Achievers threshold not met Automatic at offer
Regional Scholarship (India) £2,000-£3,000 (INR 2.34-3.50 Lakhs) Indian nationals holding a valid unconditional offer; not stackable with High Achievers Tentative August 15, 2026 (September intake)
Sports Scholarship £200-£1,000 (INR 23,360-1.17 Lakhs) Regional or national-level sportsperson; separate application with proof of achievement Tentative July 31, 2026 (annual cycle)
Early Payment Discount 5% off tuition Full tuition paid at enrolment before term starts Rolling; tentative September 20, 2026 for September intake

Important note:

  • The High Achievers Award covers roughly 29% of standard UG tuition at Middlesex. Indian applicants with Class 12 aggregates above 80% receive it automatically when the offer letter is issued, without a separate application form.

  • Students who miss the 80% cut still receive the £2,000 Merit Reduction if they clear 70%. The Regional Scholarship is applied on top only when a candidate does not qualify for the automatic merit awards.

  • The 5% Early Payment Discount stacks with any merit award. On a £17,376 UG programme, this combination brings the cash outlay to around £11,507 (INR 13.44 Lakhs).

Middlesex University Scholarships for Postgraduate Students

The scholarships offered to international students at the postgraduate level by Middlesex University are as follows:

Scholarship Amount Eligibility Deadline
International High Achievers Award (PG) £5,000 (INR 5.84 Lakhs) First-class Indian bachelor’s (60%+ from top-tier institutions or 70%+ from others) Automatic at offer; tentative August 15, 2026
International Merit Award (PG) £2,000 (INR 2.34 Lakhs) Second upper-class bachelor’s not clearing the High Achievers cut Automatic at offer
MDX Alumni Discount 20% off PG tuition Middlesex UG alumni progressing to a Master’s within 12 months of graduation Applied at enrolment; rolling
Business School MBA Scholarship £3,000-£5,000 (INR 3.50-5.84 Lakhs) MBA applicants with 3+ years of managerial experience and a strong application essay Tentative September 30, 2026 (January intake)
Sports Scholarship (PG) £200-£1,000 (INR 23,360-1.17 Lakhs) Regional or national athlete continuing at Middlesex Tentative July 31, 2026

PG tuition at Middlesex sits between £6,165 and £19,200 (INR 7.20-22.42 Lakhs) depending on the programme. The £5,000 High Achievers Award pushes an MSc Computer Science student’s fee from £16,800 (INR 19.62 Lakhs) down to £11,800 (INR 13.78 Lakhs).

Reddit Insight: Indian PG applicants often report the High Achievers cut is honoured for 65%+ candidates from Tier-2 Indian universities. The letter arrives alongside the CAS letter, so award decisions are visible before visa filing.

The MDX Alumni Discount is the highest-value PG award at 20% of full tuition. On a £19,200 MSc, this equals £3,840 (INR 4.48 Lakhs) off, and it stacks with the £2,000 Merit Award for eligible alumni.

Middlesex maintains articulation agreements with select Indian colleges and business schools, activating the Partner Institution Discount for progression students. Verify partner status with the Middlesex India office before assuming eligibility.

Reddit Insight: Threads on Reddit often show that Indian applicants routinely stack the £5,000 High Achievers Award with the 5% Early Payment Discount. The final UG cash outlay lands near INR 13 Lakhs before living costs.

Middlesex University offers strong scholarship opportunities for Indian students, but the biggest savings are concentrated among high-achieving applicants and Middlesex alumni. The automatic £5,000 High Achievers Award can substantially reduce tuition, while the 5% early-payment discount and eligible alumni benefits can further lower the cost. However, these awards primarily reduce tuition and do not cover London living expenses, which remain a major part of the overall budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can secure at Middlesex University?

Ans. The maximum internal stack combines three awards: the £5,000 High Achievers Award, the 5% Early Payment Discount, and the 20% MDX Alumni Discount. The alumni discount applies only to Middlesex UG graduates progressing to a Master’s. An eligible alumnus paying full tuition upfront on a £19,200 MSc pays around £10,332 (INR 12.07 Lakhs) after all three apply. Externally, Chevening delivers full tuition plus stipend worth roughly INR 40 Lakhs and replaces all internal awards.

Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for Middlesex University scholarships?

Ans. Internal Middlesex scholarships require no separate application; the High Achievers and Merit awards are triggered automatically when the offer letter is issued. For the September 2026 intake, aim to submit the university application by tentative August 15, 2026 so the award appears on the CAS. External scholarships such as Chevening open tentative August 5, 2026 and close by early November 2026 for the September 2027 intake.

Ques. How do Indian students apply for the Middlesex India Regional Scholarship?

Ans. Hold a valid unconditional offer, then complete the regional scholarship form on the Middlesex international applicant portal after receiving the offer. Required documents include the offer letter, passport bio page, and Class 12 or bachelor’s mark sheet. The award is confirmed inside the CAS statement, typically within 4 weeks of form submission.

Ques. What academic score do Indian students need for the Middlesex High Achievers Award?

Ans. Indian UG applicants need 80% aggregate in Class 12 from CBSE, ISC, or major state boards. PG applicants need a first-class bachelor’s, defined as 60% from IITs, NITs, and top-tier private universities, or 70% from other recognised Indian institutions. Applicants slightly below these cuts fall to the £2,000 Merit Award instead.

Ques. Does Chevening cover a full MSc at Middlesex University?

Ans. Yes, Chevening covers the entire tuition for a one-year Master’s at Middlesex, plus a monthly stipend of £1,347 (INR 1.57 Lakhs) for London-based students. It also funds return flights, visa fees, and thesis costs. Indian applicants must secure two unconditional UK offers, one of which can be Middlesex, before the mid-July 2027 confirmation deadline.

Ques. Do Middlesex scholarships cover living costs in London for Indian students?

Ans. Internal Middlesex awards apply only to tuition and do not fund rent or living costs. London hall rent runs £204-£230 per week (INR 23,830-26,865). Indian students on the High Achievers Award still budget around £13,347 (INR 15.59 Lakhs) for the year, matching the UKVI maintenance requirement. Only Chevening and Commonwealth cover both tuition and living expenses.

  • The eligibility criteria are that you need to have 70% and above in undergraduate
  • You need to ask for the scholarship in ore cas interview and cas interview to gain it
  • In terms of financial aid, yes my friends and I got financial aid when we faced financial difficulties if me mention it to unihelp they raise an amount of 180 pounds per week to cover food and transportation in terms of financial emergency and they do provide laptops for free to students.
  • In terms of average middlesex hniversity spen somewhere around 100000 GBP on scholarships on each semester.

  • Initially i got my accommodation from university but later on i shifted accommodation by using online platforms like Spareroom and Gumtree.
  • In UK most of the houses will be fully furnished they will provide every thing including kitchen items bed crockery But then one of them will be semi-furnished; just provide kitchen equipment like a fridge, stove and hot water
  • Most problem or challenge any student will face all the time is landlords wont be ready give the student a house even though they do part-time jobs; if not, they will ask any guarantor to sign the document on behalf of tenant who is uk citizen or a full-time worker in the UK.
  • My accommodation is quite walkable, hardly 15 to 20 minutes and most of the Indian people stay in and around harrow wembly and hendon itself and few people will stay in Acton or Ealing Broadway.

  • Yes, I got a 2000 pounds scholarship for my profile, as I had 7.5 bands in IELTS and 4+ years of experience as a software developer. I was not given the scholarship at first but I talked to the lady who was looking at my admission and requested a scholarship and after my interview and looking at my profile, they offered me a scholarship of 2000 pounds.

  • I found accommodation from my personal network. Monthly rent was 400 without food and I was sharing a room with a friend. It included wifi and bills. A friend of mine had already found a room for me so it was not very difficult but I had looked on facebook before for rooms. My room was around 35-40 minutes away by bus from the university. I lived in an Indian area where there were a lot of Indian students living nearby.

Yes, I got a scholarship of 2000 pounds under the scholarship titled “International Merit Award”. I just had to submit all my marksheets and transcripts since 10th standard.

My overall experience at this University was really great. I am very grateful for everything that I was able to learn here. The syllabus for all the subjects was completely up-to-date which made us ahead of everyone else. The teachers were always motivated to teach new things that are happening in the university. The University supports the students financially as well. Overall- Yes, I would absolutely recommend this University in the UK!

I received a 1500 pounds scholarship from Middlesex University. and 20000$ scholarship from Troy University Alabama.

Fabulous and Excellent. It was a wonderful experience as UK universities are completely different from all Indian universities in terms of quality or standards of education. Many different countries students come especially from Europe and Dubai (nearby ) countries to UK! Different cultures combine in UK as compared to USA and Canada.

The university is supportive in having the resources, network and different areas of specialties available to aid individual learning and achievements. I feel very supported when faced with academical challenges. There are social activities, clubs and facilities to support physical, social and mental wellbeing as the university ensures the academic journey is successfully achieved.

Santander academic excellence award, I applied to it online through the university's website. I had to write a letter.
