The University of Kent offers around 160+ scholarship programs to international students who achieve outstanding academic merits from entry-level and beyond in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Every year the University of Kent offers funding opportunities to around 3,200 international students.

The majority of the scholarships are common for domestic and international incoming students. Most of these are based on academic merit and financial need whereas some are still offered on the basis of the admission application. In addition, to apply for a scholarship, students have to submit an essay in 500 - 1000 words, on a given topic.

Apart from the UG and PG level scholarships, the University of Kent also offers a number of bursaries to international postgraduate students facing financial hardships:

  • Kent Business School Hardship Bursary awarding up to 3,000 GBP

There are also a few study loan opportunities to postgraduate international students:

  • Postgraduate Loans for Doctoral Study - Borrowings up to 28,673 GBP (29.8 lakhs INR)
  • Postgraduate Loans for Master's Degrees - Borrowings up to 11,570 GBP (12.02 lakhs INR)

Not only these, but international students are also eligible for some external scholarships such as Chevening Scholarships, Commonwealth Scholarships, and many more.

University of Kent Scholarships for Undergraduate Programs

The University of Kent offers 35+ undergraduate scholarship programs for international students. These include both general scholarships and specific department-based scholarships for students starting their UG programs. These also include a couple of country-specific loans.

To apply for a UG scholarship, applicants must write an essay of 750-1,000 words on a specific field of study related topic. The selections are based on qualifications and specified grade requirements.

Both admission and scholarship applications have their own deadline by which all applicants must submit their application along with their essay (written and saved as a word document), and any other necessary documents.

University of Kent Scholarships for Postgraduate Coursework Programs

The University of Kent offers 60+ international scholarships for PG taught programs. These scholarships are mostly department-specific. Almost 90% of the postgraduate scholarships need a separate application to be completed online by the specified deadline.

To be eligible for a majority of the postgraduate taught scholarships applicants must:

  • Hold a UK first-class degree (or International equivalence) in their undergraduate study
  • Hold an unconditional offer of a place on a masters degree course

University of Kent Scholarships for Postgraduate Research Programs

The University of Kent offers around 80 funding options for doctoral programs. These funding options are available for both full-time and part-time students. These are offered in scholarships as well as studentship forms to international students.

They cover mostly full or partial tuition fees along with an annual stipend of around 15,000 GBP and some amount of maintenance and other living expenses.

University of Kent External Awards & Scholarships

  • Research Scholarships Early: The more time invested in searching a scholarship the more options will come to the fore. Students need to research in-depth on scholarships, request the authorities for application materials and information. Take a year and begin these processes when you intend to start the course.
  • Eligibility Requirements can be asked from the providers, in case one is not fully aware of the eligibility norms.

Forensic science is a course which intrigues me and due to a personal walk in crime scene investigation. My interest in the field increased even more. I personally think this subject is now becoming demanding.
