Required Exams for Admission

IELTS (6)

Course Curriculum

10

  • Course curriculum was medium level with blend of both theoretical and practical classes. 40% was the theoretical part and 60% was the practical and assignments.
  • I do not have any negative aspects about the course, but there are many positives like, couse was designed and taught in a way that every student can grasp the things easily.
  • All the classes were recorded so that students can revisit anytime, there are presentations and case study based assignment to enhance students analytical and thinking skills, All the faculties were very supportive, responsive and experienced.

Admission Experience

  • I applied for 3 universities except University of Kent, colleges are:
*London South Bank University- Shortlisted, Received the confirmed admission letter.
    *University of Southampton- Waitlisted.
*Melbourne Institute of Technology Australia- Shortlisted, Received the confirmed admission letter.

  • I got rejections from 1 german university, Tu-munich
The main reason for the rejection was, there are limited seat for English taught courses at that time.

  • I chose University of Kent because it has the best in-house and visiting facilities, Dedicated research and development labs for telecom and communication engineering. University has the good reputation and gold rating in research works.

  • Admission process-
      - Application submission with SOP, Letter of Recommendation from past college/university.
      - Application review.
      - Personal Interview in some cases.
      - Provisional Offer if any document pending else the confirmed offer.
      - Once students fulfill the requirement raised by the university, then the university issues CAS letter for visa related purposes.

  • Eligibility criteria- overall 60%/6.5 CGPA marks in 10th, 12th and Graduation, Statement of Purpose, Letter of Recommendation from past college/university.
    *Accepted Exams-IELTS with 6 points.
*The overall Admission process were very smooth and quick, and the university is very responsive during the admission period.
*Aspiring students will not face any challenge if he/she has the proper documentation that is required by the admission department.

  • I applied for fall intake, which usually starts around September every year. The reason behind that, in fall intake university has much more seats than the January intake. The weather is much pleasant around September and students can easily acclimatize with the weather.

  • The admission process will take around 2 months from submitting application to issuing CAS. It is always better to start early, for example, if someone is trying for the 2026 september batch then he/she should submit an application by December 2025 or maximum by January 2026.

  • After getting CAS document, I highly recommend applying for visa by own and read properly before applying visa.

Class Schedule

10

  • In my course we had 40 students with different countries.
  • We had 7 Indian students at that time in my course.
  • Fall semester was very busy with regular classes, per day 6-7 classes per day. But in spring semester we had less classes with more lab related work.

Faculty

10

  • We had 2 in-house faculty for each subject and 4-5 visiting professors of some specific topics and for the industrial seminars. Every professor were very responsive and easy approachable, because of this students never felt difficulties in clearing doubts and any course related work issues.
  • Teaching was completely based on the case studies, Presentation and topic specific, Labs were properly taken by the research assistant students and the professors. There were industrial interactions also from the industry professionals/Visiting professors to make students industry ready.

  • Apart from technical openings, students can work in university cafe, clubs and shopping complexes. Students can work out of campus also. Maximum hour granted in 4 hours per day and 20 hours a week, pay rate may vary from approx £200 to £300.
  • Its not easy to secure a job on-campus or off-campus because a lot of students apply for the job and the openings are usually less.
  • Indian students usually prefer to work under the professors in TA or RA related roles, but it is not limited to that some students work in cafes also. They usually earn between £200 to £300 per week. It is difficult to get part time job because of less openings, but there are some Indian restaurants and cafes where they prefer indian students.
  • For application for this jobs students can check the opening through local websites and also visit cafe, stores etc. to know about the opening. If they find any openings, students can directly apply there and connect with managers there for interview.
