Remarks

As for positive remarks, the only thing that comes to mind is the fests and the clubs along with the nice hostel environment which has no ragging and is very friendly. Negative remarks can be about the extreme entry time restrictions and strictness regarding alcohol consumption and girlfriends.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

When I joined the curriculum was a bit different than it currently is. In the current scenario, you have to complete a total of 160 credits in your 4 years of B.Tech. The college follows ffcs (fully flexible credit system) in which the students can make their own time tables and select their preferred faculties. The curriculum provides for the subjects which you have to complete based on your branch. The subjects are divided into 4 categories namely Program Core(PC), Program Elective (PE), University Core (UC), and University Elective (UE) and each subject has an assigned number of credits. Subjects may have different components like theory, lab, or projects. In my opinion, it is a good curriculum as the number of credits to be completed has been reduced from 180 to 160 and it is now much easier to get your preferred subjects and teachers. Also, the curriculum is a bit too academic according to me as it gives less preference to skill-based learning which is a problem with most of the Indian colleges. The exam structure is simple in which there are 2 CATs both of which are for 50 marks and have a 15 mark weightage each in the semester total and a FAT which is of 100 marks and has a 40 mark weightage. The rest 30 marks come from Digital assignments and quizzes.

Placement Experience

2.5

For computer science and IT, there is a lot of dreams and super dream placements whereas, for Mechanical, Civil and other such branches have only a few goods offers compared to the number of admissions. Although a lot of consultancy placements, as well as mass placements, take place. As for internships, the college isn't of any help. The college does not provide for any internship placements although it has some startups in its business incubation center which provides some internships.

College Events

3.5

There are 2 major fests in a single college year. The odd semester has the technical fest 'Gravitas' which has a lot of technical events organized by the hundreds of clubs and chapters that VIT is home to. It is a well-recognized fest in the country and includes mega-events such as ROBOWARs, MUNs, Gaming competitions, Make-a-Thons, and a variety of other events that offer a lot to learn. The even semester has the fun-filled 'Riviera' which is a cultural fest. This fest is buzzing with fun-filled events and games throughout the day along with some events highlighting the cultures of different states and countries through dance and drama. The Riviera nights come with even more surprises which host many Bollywood superstars and singers as performers along with the final day having a DJ. The other exciting part is we have 'Aagaz ' in which we have exciting and famous comedians and talents. Both of these fests are a 4-day event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Wellbeing a private college it is somewhat expensive. The fees are divided into various categories in which you get admission based on your rank. The base fees for 4 years including hostel and mess for a category 1 student is approximately 15 lakhs and as the categories move up the fees increase by almost 2.5 lakhs with each category. The fees for NRIs and foreign is also quite high compared to normal fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed of any scholarships but the college does offer scholarships to students who come from lower-income family backgrounds. Although I don't know much regarding the specifications of this facility I have heard that it gives a large amount of benefit up to 50% relief in the total fees.

Campus Life

3.5

The labs have most of the necessary equipment and suffice the needs of the subjects provided in the college. There are various different software and hardware labs that are accessible with permission during non-class hours. Talking about extracurricular activities clubs are a major part of your college life where you make a lot of friends and gain some technical experience in the field you love. Clubs include quiz clubs, debate societies, hacking clubs to racing teams. Last but not least sports is also promoted in the college as there are many teams for a lot of major sports and students actively participate in them. There are sports competitions every year.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college is famous for its huge population of students which count up to a bewildering number of 25000. The college has an optimal accommodation facility for the students as it offers both AC as well as Non AC rooms which are further subdivided into 1-bedded, 2-bedded, 3-bedded, 4-bedded, and 6-bedded. The fees change with the choice of rooms. The infrastructure is good and the mess food is edible. There are several messes throughout the hostels from which students can opt for according to their preference. Other amenities in the hostel include a swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, the outdoor stadium which include some additional charges.

Alumni/Alumna

We have some Facebook pages for contacting Alumni and some of them are even invited for speeches by the college. Alumni remain connected to the college via the clubs they used to be a part of as well as through the official college records.

Admission

First, give the VITEEE Exam after your 12th boards, and based on the marks scored you get ranks. Based on your rank you are called for counseling in which you are given branch selection options, you can get a branch under different fee categories depending on your rank and seat availability. After you select your branch you have to pay some admission fees which are non-refundable. Later on, if you're sure of joining the college then you can pay the entire tuition fees as well as hostel fees(mess +room).

Faculty

2.5

Except for some good faculties, most of them just try to complete the syllabus and are very boring with their teaching techniques. Some faculties are quite chilled about attendance and marks whereas there are some who are blacklisted and make your subjects difficult to pass.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation
