Nit Trichy B.Sc. B.ed. student review

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

First year tuition fee is 1 lakh 10 thousand in first sem followed by 50 thousand in second sem and after first year your odd sem fee will be around 80-90 thousand while even sem fees will be always 50 thousand. but if you are from sc/st category then your whole course tuition fee will be just 1 lakh 65 thousand. while for others it will be around 5 lakh 60 thousand. and in this fee everything is included you lab fee , festival fee, computer fee and many more things . for scholarship i would say good luck because there is no scholarship on the scale compared to other courses but this year our college started giving chances to ITEP student also but yeah , college scholarships are competitive and generally low compared to what you need .from college scholarships you can just fulfill your needs of snacks of whole year. i would say be optimistic as the course is new so scholarship will come gradually and you can register for state or private scholarship online. your whole course with tuition and hostel fee will be nearly 10.5 to 11 lakh I am giving range because it will keep increasing every year.

In odd sem there are 2 fest that are festember and nittfest while in even sem there is pragyan. so total of 3 fest in a year . lots of books and journals are available for students for than 2 lakh with many online tie ups where you can get materials from collegees like cambridge and oxford to study online . for bsc bed student classes will be held inside department itself as they required small classroom with strength of 20 students while lecture complex hall have strength for more than 60 students. classroom are good, projector is there ,fans and light are also there with one classroom also have ac. sports and extracurricular activities are something which you will love so if you have some sports in your mind which you left you can pursue it here like badminton,handball, basketball,chess, swimming,hockey, cricket and many more although swimming pool is small but rest all things are fine . there are lot of clubs and if you didn't find anything then don't hesitate to create one from photography to coding many different types of clubs are there which are generally open to all students.

facilities provided are 2 fans ,2 cupboard,1 book shelf and 2 lights for freshers 1 night light is also provided with additional small cupboard for 3 sharing while there are no book shelves. washrooms will be cleaned twice a day. hot water is provided 24*7 fir bathing . for drinking hot, cold, normal water is there 24*7 . wifi will be provided with steel bed, chair and table. in hostel there will be something to play like badminton, volleyball court. food is eatable in first year. from 2nd year there are 5-6 mess choice for boys. hostel and mess fees are not separated it is 53-60 thousand sir each sem. for pg you have to go 5-10 km away .

I applied in many colleges like IIT'S ,NIT'S AND CENTRAL UNIVERSITY. I was not getting any IIT so after that I chose this college because of its brand value,nirf ranking,alumini network and the peer group it holds .i did not got IIT because of my marks as I haven't scored enough in ncet exam for clearing their cut off. for admission you have to had physics, chemistry,maths in you class 12th with atleast 50 percent.although each college have different different requirement.after that you have to get good marks in ncet exam and you must have taken the subject in ncet exam that you are applying to get .for more information related admission you can check admission brochure at nit Trichy website they publish before opening registration for new admission.

as the course is new we don't have any permanent faculty yet ,but there are temporary faculty and you will not have any problem with them.faculty and teachers are quite nice and kind .but that doesn't mean you can demand something and they will fulfill that demands like change of course plan , scholarship or something. below that that help you with anything related to studies.moreover it is a college ,so you have to study on your own just pay attention in class and you are good to get 8 and above cgpa .exams are divided into 3 parts with ct1,ct2 and endsms .exams are quite doable and will not give you pressure unless you haven't studied anything neither paid attention in class.you will be taught by people who are doing their phd or have earned that . Teachers are understanding and knowledgeable in their fields .you might not like some teachers teaching style that might be true .

This is the thing which might disappoint you as for girls there is no night life after 9:30. for boys there are several snacks spot but in general night life is quite dull for a college to be called. for boys you can go to octagon and do your study there whole night while enjoying the ac. and for boys from second year onwards there is no curfew inside the hostel. inside the campus it is safe to room anywhere there are guards after every 100 to 200 metres and college have boundaries from all four sides and as I have spent 1 year there haven't been any incident where someone outsider came in night and disturbs student or something.
