Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bcom (h) curriculum at Delhi University is fairly relevant and comprehensive, covering essential subjects like accounting, finance, economics, and law. I chose this course mainly because DU’s syllabus is well-structured and aligns well with professional paths like CA, CMA, CFA, and MBA. Teaching methods in DU are often lecture-based, so more interactive and practice-oriented approaches could improve learning. Semester exams are held twice a year, usually tightly scheduled, and their difficulty level ranges from moderate to slightly challenging. Overall, the curriculum is solid but would benefit from more modern, industry-focused updates.

Internships Opportunities

3

The Placement Cell organizes internship drives with various companies across sectors like marketing, finance, HR, digital media, and more. Examples include opportunities with firms such as Yellow Octo LLP, AptiDude, EdLernity Tech, SHEWings Healthcare, and The Leading Solutions offering roles in social media, content creation, finance, HR, marketing, etc. These internships can be remote, hybrid, or office-based, often ranging from 1–6 months with stipends depending on the role

Placement Experience

2

There is little very less placements in my college i can't depend on the college for a job or a placement but still there are placements such as The campus placements start with the 2nd year from 3rd sem Various companies come for placements with average package being 8 lakh and highest of 19 lakh Very few % of students get and accept the college with my future plans being to pursue MBA and CA

Admission

I applied for Sd college, Dav college under PU in Chandigarh and Central university of Himachal Pradesh along with DU While i got rejected from Sd and Dav but the CUHP accepted the admission but i chose DU (ZHDC) over that college because of more opportunities and exposure Well i got rejected because of not meeting the cut offs of SD and DAV because of major UT reserved seats And the admission process for DU college are simple Give cuet , fill out csas form and preference sheet , after results u will be alloted a college I got an off campus college (ZHDC) at 750 with the cutoff being low to aroung 650

Faculty

4

Well the faculty is good The main Dsc core subject teachers of b.law mpa and fa are pretty good in terms of their fields they are very much approachable and look to solve all our doubts There are mostly ia and ca exams of easy to moderate difficulty very less students fail with the course being relevant to the present and future

Night Life

3

The cafeteria and library usually stays open till 7-8 pm depending upon morning or evening facility There are no hostels in the college with the campus entry starting from 7 30 am and going on till 7-8 pm due to evening students The famous hangout places in college could be nescafe cafe, cafeteria etc with arounf the campus being Connaught place etc.

Our placement cell Riddhi, doesnt just offers placements but also help us in providing various internships. A proper placement fest called incrementum is organised in our college to make sure maximum students benefit out of it. Last year companies like icici, hdfc bank, delloite and others provided direct campus placements to the students of our college. On an average Bcom hons students got a paycheck of 5-6 lakhs.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year, the students become eligible to participate in placement. The placement cell is available in the college. But the number of placements is a little less as compared to other north campus colleges. Many companies have come for placement and internship. But many students prefer CA,CFA or other professional courses or MBA for higher studies. I plan to give CAT for MBA after my course gets over.
