Dislikes
- Personal but for me it was the distance travel as my college was far from my home
- Compared to all branches SEAS is very rigid and tight compared to others
- Some courses are very traditional and doesnt help alot if the faculty is very very strict
Course Curriculum Overview
the course curriculum in terms are highly relevant and comprehensive, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. the interdisciplinary approach with flexible major and minors with project based learning is industyr alogned education
Internships Opportunities
My university offers placements and internships through the Career Developement Centre (CDC) and if you want some work inside the university itself the college has UGRP Undergraduate research program where they give internships and offers for students to come. there is also a WSP (work study program) where students can work in library or office of dean of students. some renowned compnanies iek delloites, pwc, adani, toddle, forbes marshall have been in university for stipends around 25 to 30 thousand INR
Placement Experience
Placements are strong with 97% rate. in 2024 and with average placement package is 7-9 LPA,with highs of 15 LPA. TOP recruiters includes Adani,Google and Deloitte. Many students also decide to pursure startups and off site placement
Fees and Financial Aid
When I was in AU back in 2020 The fees was 1.73 lakh per year, due to covid they also gave us financial aid of some amount based on the total family income. According to me the fees is increasing every year as they are prividing world class infrastructure and the college doesnt feel like indian, it looks like a foerign institute and the instrcutors and teching faculites are very highly educated. There was merit based and need based scholarship also but i didnt apply for those. The amount which is decudted from fees completely depends on your family income when it comes to need based scholarship while it is fixed amount like 50% or 100% in merit based scholarship.
Campus Life
my overall experience was vibrant and overwhelming, there are 27 clubs inside university like sports theatre music arts and photography clubs and the univeristy has won awards for facilties like gym, sports ground and multipurpose hall.
Admission
choosing ahmedabad university over others like nirma and PDEU often come down to its interdisciplinary liberal apporoach and holistic culture.while nirma is known for its strong placements and PDEU for industry linked technical programs. I chose AU for its freedom to pair BTECH and BBA minors in psychology or arts.
Faculty
the faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:20 i assume, the enviroment around the campus is very open and non hierarchial, the faculty are very open and welcoming, they often have open office hours where you can enter anytime and they will guide and help you if they are free. according to my experience the best faculty was prof tahere who teached french in school of arts and sciences i had alot of fun. some professors are really really rigid about the 80 percent attendance system and i dislike those instructors. i would not say that exams are "easy" but you cna defintiely clear them if you do basic listening and work. the course curriculum is always relevant.
Interview Experience
I didnt face any group discussion, interview or written test of any kind as my selection was from the ACPC gujcet exam, the ones who apply from JEE i think have to give a personal interview with the admission office showcasing thier interest for the university and why there are choosing this university.
Night Life
i always used to go to the gym when the get a good amount of gap between two lectures, which is inside the university itself, the univeristy is open 24/7 so my late night activities was to sit silently in the library basement as it was the most peaceful place. this experiences were really comforting and nice for me.
